I am not familiar with it. Since my son has some piano classes, so he knows it more than me. One day he listened to a classical song which was played by our neighbor, and he liked it. Then I downloaded two pieces of classical music for him to enjoyhappy If you know any good classical music, please share with me so that I can pass it to my sonwink

i am familiar with it as i went to vocal and the classical music classes since my 3 years, but i know only in my mother tongue..can i know in which language do you want so that i will help you? [brajeswari16]
In fact I thought the classical music is only music, so no lyrics at all. It's something like Mozart etc. Yes, this avatar is from my son's photohappy [youless]
Classical music, do you mean songs by beethoven? mozart? i guess those are the ones played by those who plays the piano..try looking it up the net [jazel_juan]
Yes, they are the classical music I mentioned. [youless]
Hi! It's wonderful that you have enrolled your son in piano classes and that he enjoys it too! I would like to suggest to you a site that features all the great classical music, plus it also provides information on all the classical masters. The site is www.classicalarchives.com where you can either be a free user (with limited use in the site) or a paying subscriber at a fee which I think is reasonable enough. There are other sites that cater to the classics, but this one is my favorite. Happy mylotting! [NonaSaile]
In fact I don't expect him to be Lang Lang. I just hope he will find something interesting in music and learn how to appreciate it. [youless]
I' m not familiar with classical music,in the past ,I like listenning pop music. now,it seems that the classical music is more suitable for me to relax myself. the classical music I like most is butterfly love ,it is played by violin. [Agathacoco]
I will try to find it via the net. [youless]
I have so classical music cd's at home... and i love Swan Lake by Tchaicovsky... when your son hear's the music in that collection... they will be quite familiar... because some of the cartoons use that as background music... try searching for it... i am sure he will love Swan Lake... [aseretdd]
Swan Lake is quite popular. This is one of few classical music I know. I downloaded it alreadyhappy [youless]
yes we are very much familiar. actually I am from India and this country is the birthplace for classical music. you may be speaking about classical music of your country. But in india there are various types of them. [subha12]
I know Indian music is very cheerfulhappy [youless]
I often don't listen classical music, but some days ago,a friend of mine in mylot give me some music which are very good to listen, you can find them in my profile by click my picture. [kekexinfeng]

I do not know a lot of classical music. But I do like to listen to them sometimes. One of my favorites is the Canon D. Maybe you can see if you can download it for your son. I am sure there are others. Nutcracker is also another one I remember. And a few others that I like but do not know the title. [ahgong]
Now I know another nice classical music called Liebestraum. [youless]
youless, I think most of the collections from Richard Clayderman, Jim Brickman and Yanni would be pleasant and sufficient for your son (I hope). You may search it from Baidu the local search engine at your end. Hope you will like them too in the process. Have a nice time with the music. [skysuccess]
You are right. Actually one classical piano music is from Richard Claydermanhappy [youless]
Well I am not familiar with classical song as well. happyTherefore, I couldn't help you much with it. But I like to listen to them. My mum used to play some famous classical music before I sleep when I was a kid. That time it's still using cassette, which could hardly be seen nowadays. So, I listened to some classical music during childhood, but I have no idea the name of the song, or its composers. blush [cheongyc]
Ha, I think you might be right. I am not boastful, but my friends told me that I am above average among them. But a smarter child is usually naughtier than others. I used to be mischievous than other kids when I was in school. I never committed any serious wrong doing, but just being playful. But I am still doing good in my academics. So, listening to classical music can make kid become smarter. I remembered my tuition teacher told us that too. One of the top students in my secondary school, also one of my class mates, like to listen classical music too. So, I think it might be accurate. [cheongyc]
I'm trying to think of some good piano ones that your son may be interested in! I have quite a bit of piano music but not loads, it's more orchestral pieces, I like to relax to classical music! Claire de Lune by Debussy is lovely gentle piece of piano music. It's on youtube here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sKIs-1IoaZQ My favourite piece of piano music is called the heart asks pleasure first by Micheal Nyman. The link to that piece on youtube is here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0dPS-EHI-FE I would love to know what you think! (and I hope the links work if they don't you can serach on youtube to hear them) [beki710]
Thanks a lot for your links and I will check them outhappy [youless]
There is lots of classical music . Just do a search in a search engine (like google) put in classical music downloads. i bet you find tons. My son has always loved classical music. He listens to that and only that. he plays piano and goes to college. But i think he will always his classical music. I like all kinds of music. even classical. [mssnow]
I know I can find many classical music via the net. However, I have to listen to them so that I can judge which is a nice piece. And it really spends a long timehappy [youless]
Try Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Bach's Brandenberg Concerto,Air from Suite No. 3, Sheep May Safely Graze, Jesu's Joy of Man Desiring, Mozart, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, Pachibeli's Kanon in D. Those are my favorites and they are quite popular, especially the Kanon in D. [suspenseful]
It sounds like that you are very familiar with the classical music. I only know the author's nameslol [youless]
I am familiar with a number of classical pieces and I rather enjoy them. I often listen to a classical station when I am driving alone. I've also been known to listen to a classical piece while I soak in the bathtub. [ShavingCream]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I know Indian classical music, classical music helps to relieve stress, helps kids to sleep well. Knowledge of classical music is the best that I can ever think off. [eshwarik]
I think every country has its own classical musichappy [youless]
I like Classical Music and even the earlier ones like the Renaissance and Baroque music by Palestrina and Bach. My favorite classical composer is Beethoven with Mozart and Hayden coming close behind. Cheers!! [underdogtoo]
I've heard that children will become smarter when they often listen to Mozart's musichappy [youless]
No, I don't like classical. I think it's an acquired taste, like if you listen to it all the time then you'll get hooked. But no one listens to classical music in my household. We only have lot of pop, rock, and r&b. Heehee. Sorry I can't be any help. You should just google it, or enroll your child in music school. [mimico]
Try to listen to it sometimes, it isn't so badhappy [youless]
it's a good thing that your son attends piano classes..he would really thank you for that when he grows up.. ..anyway, i only know few classical musics(since my parents didn't enroll me to a music school..T_T). the classical music that i enjoy listening the most is swan lake(but since you have downloaded it, i will suggest another piece).. i would suggest "moonlight sonata" 'cause it's very calming(though creepy if you have watched 'the phone') plus it would be good for a beginner 'cause it is very easy to learn..i even learned how to play it by just watching a video in youtube..and also try "fur elise", it's also easy to learn.. [daijean11]
yes, i definitely will enroll him/her to a music school even if he/she don't like it..LOL [daijean11]
I am not really familiar with classical music. I enjoy it sometimes, but wouldn't know the name of a song or the composer, if you asked me. so, I can't give you any ideas as to some songs. I am sure you will get some answers to to your question from others. [cortney09]
That's alright. I still appreciate to your responsehappy [youless]
Good evening, youless. It is a good start for your son to start to learn classical music at a young age. I am sure that he will be a great musician some day. By the way, I am not familiar with the classical music, but I love to listen to music. Good time, youless. [williamjisir]
I don't think he will be another Lang Lang. But at least one day he has one more interest, I hope. [youless]
happyI am not either. You son's still young i guess, how old is he? It's good to learn some musical instruments, i haven't learn one, it's a big pity in my life. But don't press him too much, he still needs to enjoy the beautiful childhood.lol [lynettebyc]
My son will be 4.5 years old in this month. [youless]
Hello, youless! I am not very familiar with classical music. Though I have music classes, and sometimes I have to study one or two pieces of classical music. Usually, the names of them are in Portuguese, making it hard to figure out what would they be called in English. But here, if you want some good pieces of classical music, try downloading the following songs. They are pretty beautiful. Some of them are pretty famous: - Fur Elise, by Beethoven - Greensleeves, just search it and you will find, no need for the artist name (I don't know his name) - Study in B Minor, by Fernando Sor (This one is pretty beautiful) - Sound of Bells - Romances de Amor Try searching for them in Youtube first, so you will get a preview and get more information about the artist and where to download it. Respectfully, Munhozmib. [munhozmib]
No wonder the classical music names seem to be so complicated. [youless]
The genre of "Classical music" encompasses a wide variety of forms and styles. There have already been some good suggestions in this discussion. Some pieces I recommend: Beethoven: Piano Concerto No 2. This is orchestra and piano Bach: Brandenburg Concertos. These would be classified as Baroque. They are performed by an orchestra, and usually a harpsichord rather than a piano Hummel: Piano Trio in E flat. This is strings and piano. It is one of my personal favorites. Happy searching. [Fafner]
Thanks for telling me these classical music pieceshappy [youless]
Your son likes piano? Look for the works of Chopin and the Beethoven Piano Sonatas. Both composers wrote some of the best pieces for the piano. It is so great that your son like classical music. [sarahruthbeth22]
Beethoven , Mozart, and Bach are the best composers to star with. They wrote for both piano and orchestra. He will like their music. [sarahruthbeth22]
I'm aware of Indian classical music (both Hindustani and Carnatic) as well as Western classical music. My older son is very much interested in music and luckily he is getting exposure to Indian classical and western at school. We also send him for Hindustani vocal classes. You can Google or check on youtube for classical pieces of music (Beethoven, Mozart)....I'm sure they are available. [SViswan]
It's nice that your son is so much interested in music [youless]
Is there a specific type you are looking for? I think Tchaikovsky is always a good choice. And usually easy to find as well. [UtopianIdealist]
OK, I try to find this musichappy [youless]
I have to be in the mood to listen to Classical music my friend, which is not often I have to admit, however last Christmas I asked for and got The Ultimate Classical Album 2008, it has four cds in it and the music on them is wonderful, enchanting, soothing and relaxing, ideal for laying in the bath and soothing the mind! I love the theme tune to American Beauty, wonderful. I am not into heavy classical, although I do like the music from The Nutcracker. [wolfie34]
Yes my friend it is a movie and I understand where you are coming from, I didn't really understand it, but I loved the music to it, I think I watched it twice, it was enjoyable to watch but I didn't understand the concept around it, I guess not being American I probably didn't appreciate it as much. [wolfie34]
