My granddaughter is addicted to the Chipmunk Christmas album and I have been playing it since she got here last Saturday....non stop! Music is just about the only thing she enjoys and they are definately her favorite. She's a little sad this year because it's the first time in her 14 years that she hasn't had her brother and father with her on Christmas and I'll do anything I can to help make her feel better. Which means....the chipmunks all day long...lol...I like them too but for me once a day is enough!!
Are you still listening to Christmas music too? Is there a point where you stop playing it?

responses and comments:
Nope..I'm no longer listening to Christmas music....well, the whole family has stopped since 26th December Boxing Day... [chunter]
I can't tell you how lucky you are...lol...I finally got to turn the chipmunks off...now I get to watch Barney videos instead! [ctrymuziklvr]
I have only listened to the Christmas music when I am in the car, but I too have a love for the Chipmunk Christmas album. As a matter of fact, I have had it so long, my copy is on cassette. I usually listen to it every year as I put up my Christmas tree. Much fun! [kykidd]
lol....I don't have it on cd or cassette. We got to keep the rhapsody program up and listened on that for a week now! When my granddaughter goes home that's the end of it for me until next year. [ctrymuziklvr]
Maybe you should have gotten her a headset or an inexpensive mp3 player for Christmas, she can then listen in private. But then you would miss the 'ALVIN' part, which is my favorite. It is too bad she is missing her father and brother but she has you, so many kids don't have caring grandparents like you are. My son has yet to spend a night with Grandma and Grandpa and he is 21. In their words: they are too old to have kids around. [Debs_place]
Unfortunately for me Vicky can't take anything covering her ears! Believe me I have thought about and tried the headphones. She has a very limited vocabulary but knows the words to all of the Christmas songs! As for being too old to have kids around....never was and never will be. Vicky is my world! [ctrymuziklvr]
I am actually listening to nothing. My daughter is at a friends house. My husband just left for work. I am enjoying the sweet sound of silence. I am doing laundry and answering posts. [lightningMD]
Oh to be listening to silence! I won't get that until probably Saturday and then I have to go to work and I'm afraid to see what kind of canned music will be going on there! [ctrymuziklvr]
Not right now but, I still haven't celebrated Christmas with my daughter and grandson. When they get here sometime next week, we will be playing the Christmas cd's again. After that, I'M DONE WITH CHRISTMAS.....until next year LOL [girlgonefishing]
At least for now you have peace and quiet and I envy you...lol...my day will come soon! [ctrymuziklvr]
My son loves the chipmunks too and we have a cd playing in our car everywhere we go. He doesn't like it when I sing along to them and only prefers to sing them himself. I am tired of Christmas songs already LOL [maddysmommy]
Vicky isn't too thrilled when I sing along either....only she can! I guess I spoil it for her..lol [ctrymuziklvr]
I remember listening to them when I was young ctry...your post made me laugh when I read your granddaughter is doing that. I don't know that I listened to them all day long, but nevertheless, I remember them. I think I would go bonkers however listening to them all the day long LOL You are great to take such good care of her in her loneliness for her Father and Brother. A great Grandparent you are! No, I have not been listening to Christmas music at all, but that is not to say I wouldn't if I could. Love Your Friend RozAnn TheHairDresser..music is a great uplifter of the spirits and I love just about all music. [TheHairDresser]
Haha, the Chipmunk Christma album is quite a good album. I am not listening to Christmas music still. I have yet to listen to it as much as I used to back then I was a little child. I do sometimes find myself humming the carol to several famous Christmas songs however, even when it is not always Christmas. [bstinson1989]
lol you are more patient a person then i am! lol. I rarely put the xmas music on at all. my hubby is all into it, but i dont like it really. i listen to it in the stores when i am shopping, and that seems to be enough to float my boat for the year :) lol. My tree is coming down today or tommorrow, i'm getting sick of looking at it honestly. its taking up too much precious space in my living room lol. [Sissygrl]
Funny you should ask, ctry, because I had decided I was filled up on Christmas music and decided to listen to some Country music via my Yahoo Messenger while I do a bit of MyLotting. Well, they just sneaked "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" in on me, and I had to laugh while I was reading your post. [worldwise1]
That is very sweet of you to do whatever it takes to help her feel better...even listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks! I still liten to George Strait's Christmas CDs, as well as Alan Jackson (who happens to have a guest appearance by the Chipmunks!). I pretty much consider the time between December 1, and January 1 open season for listening to Christmas tunes! [chicospagal]
Nope, Christmas is over for me, and so is the Christmas music and television specials, thankfully. Now back to normal television services for me :) [8ctavarium]
I get tired of Christmas music by Chistmas. It gets turned off by the day after and I hope to not here much more for 11 more months. I have 2 kids that are constantly singing Santa clause is comming to town. Very cute but wow, to much of a great thing. I must be feeling grinchy now, sorry. [happythoughts]
Hello!!! I love Christmas music. It makes me feel the spirit of Christmas. We usually listen to them during the coming of Christmas. When Christmas is done, we still listen to it but not all the time anymore. [grazee14blue]
I still listen to Christmas music from time to time. But I guess I do that all year. a song here and there. [Ryuujin51]
It's not so much Christmas music I'm still listening to, but watching Christmas specials still.. I have a lot of movies and specials I've taped over the years, and I just never seem to have enough time to watch them during Christmas or the few weeks before...so watch them after I feel sorry for you in a way...that chipmunk music must be making you daft...LOL [pyewacket]
My husband is enamoured with the voices of the Celtic Woman. He has their video, so we will be hearing their melodic voices for months to come. He was that way with Celene Dion after her special. He adores beautiful female voices. The point will be when another woman or women with beautiful voice(s) have/has another special. [writersedge]
yes i am still listening to Christmas music / songs. coz everytime i listen to it, reminds me good old days, together with my family (mother & siblings & pet).it makes me remembers happy moments with them. and even makes me relax and think about things that change me alot:) and i don't care even i always hear them everyday.... and even it's not Christmas. haha [artist_lateralus18]
I still listen to a little bit of Christmas music, but it is mostly Chistmas movies I am still mainly watching. Most people love the Christmas spirit and therefore don't want to get rid of it. It is my favorite time of year and it is sad to see it go by so soon. I really don't want it all to end now so I tend to watch a couple of Christmas movies or listen to Christmas music in order to reinstate the spirit. [KingSchallenberger]
No, once Christmas songs are done and over with on the radio, I do not listen to them any more. You sound like a good grandmother to let your granddaughter keep listening to these songs over and over again. Try not to let the music drive you insane! :) [sacmom]
I love the chipmunks too, last year its the music that we keep on listening here at the office. but we had to format the computer where the music was installed, so it was all deleted. now, what we had is samba christmas music. its very easy listening. Yes, until now, we do listen to Christmas music. Even christmas is over. I think it will be played until one of us get tired of listening to it. maybe it will be until the 1st or 2nd week of january. by the way, we started playing christmas music in september of this year. :-) [larskie23]
Yes of course! I listen them too, but not whole day 2 or 3 times a day, there is no problem if any one listening same songs whole day, because its Xmas, and this festival comes only onetime in a year, so let people do something diffrent that they never do before! [aashishace]
Yep, we sure are. For us Christmas season is from 25 December till 2nd of February a full 40 days. We do not celebrate Christmas during advent like most people do as this is a time that we spend anticipating the birth of Christ. While we celebrate Christmas for those 40 days we likely will not listen to the music much beyond Epiphany on January 6th. We'll see. [Modestah]
I pretty much stop listening to it the day after Christmas, however, I have been there with a young child that got something like that for Christmas and I've listened to or watched it over and over and over lol. I can't tell you how many times a day I saw the Jungle Book when my youngest (now 18) got that movie! I could have done a one person show of it! lol [palonghorn]
i love christmas music and hate the fact that it is over :(...i think i am gonna pull out my christmas cds in july and play them! [cher913]
Yes, I still did listened to those Christmas Song and I loved to hear this kind of Christmas Caroller Song Jingle Bells and give Loved on Christmas Day..... even my Husband who is a Kuwaiti and Muslim also listened to those Songs that I mentioned. [cherylal]
I did not really listen to a lot of Christmas music this year..I like to listen but i think it is probably because my hubby has the tv on all of the time.I think the chipmunks are so cute ,and i always get a big kick out of them..I know your granddaughter has been sad , bless her heart it is hard for young ones to understand the ways of the adults sometimes...I would do the same as you if it were my granddaughter, just let her listen to her hearts content...If she loves music so much she needs one of those little players where you put the cd in or tape and has ear phones to it, and she could always listen to her favorite songs... [slickcut]
Yes I am. For two reasons. One my daughter is singing it. This will probably go on until February. When her pre kinder class gets involved in Valentines Day. And second she was given a Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer. It's a replica from the original 1966 movie. It says lines from the movie. Like"she said I'm CUUUUTTTEE! It also breaks out into the song. I may have to hide it! [ersmommy1]
Nope mine has been put away now till next year which no doubt will be here in no time I think the Year seems to just race past us now But no, no more now till next Christmas [gabs8513]
Lol...I LOVE that song!! I would play it continuously at work, hehehe. I went a few Christmases ago to fill in as a teller at a branch office, and they had an Alvin doll on the counter...I pressed the button by his feet, and viola! I had to call my office and tell a co-worker "LISTEN!!!" She groaned for some reason, lol! [wickedstepma]
well, of course now I'm not. but even when you posted this discussion I wasn't either. I'm pretty much done christmas when christmas is over. I'll leave the decorations up until the 12 days are over (though the 6th is day 12 and I took mine down yesterday.. I usually leave them up until around the weekend after christmas really rather than the 12 days). Other than that I'm done with the movies and I'm done with the music. [raychill]
