Can You Play A Musical Instrument

And which kind(s) can you play? I used to be able to play the clarinet, but I messed up my jaw so that doesn't work as well anymore so I want to learn to play something else. I'm thinking it'll be a keyboard. I also learned to play the recorder in school lol... My sister and dad can play guitars. Can you play anything?

I can play the Viola. I gave it up before high school though because I didn't have enough periods and I liked choir more than orchestra. Also, I can play the recorder (^^) and a few tunes on the piano. I would love to learn how to play the guitar, my dad can play guitar and flute. [demonicmoney]
Oh wow... you certainly know how to play a lot :) I know of a couple places around town that teach lessons here. I don't really want to go to formal lessons though lol... since I don't usually have all that much time in the day left for that. I'm just more after learning on my own little by little, and maybe later on, once I've learned all I can by myself go take some lessons to help me improve. [eventualist]

I love music that's why I learned how to play the guitar. Oh well just the basics but I'm proud of it. At least, I can accompany myself while singing. ;) [netski_15]
I was trying to learn the guitar before because we have a few of them around the house, but they were too hard for me to get my hands around so I wasn't doing too well lol... But congrats on even getting the basics for the guitar cause that is really good too! [eventualist]

My wife and I both play the mouth organ. We can even play the same one at the same time!!! [jimbo45]
Haha... that would be really cool to see :) [eventualist]

when im still in gradeschool im trying to learn to play the guitar and know a bit ..i have also alittle knowledge of playing an organ coz my husband taught me how to play .. [vanities]
Oh, that's pretty cool! My nanny plays the organ, I should see if she can teach me a thing or two about playing once I can find one for me :) [eventualist]

Sadly, I can't play anything. I've always wanted be able to play the piano, but I've got not one musical gene in me. [accioetoile]

I used to play guitar back when I was a teenager, but was never really that good at it. I pretty much stopped playing in college and haven't picked it up much since then, though I've thought of playing again if I could find an inexpensive used electric guitar. [Idlewild]
My sister's electric guitar didn't really cost much... I think my dad said it was just a bit over $100... plus however much for the amp and all that. And she's had no troubles with it, and my dad says it's a pretty good one for her to start. It's a Fender Squire I believe... [eventualist]

I played the recorder back in school and loved it. I messed up my left hand, and can't cover some of the holes with my index finger. I still play keyboard, though. I play for the praise team at church. There is an accompanist on the acoustic grand, a drummer, and me. I use a ballad organ sound on a Roland XP-80. All you really hear from it is a solid bass foundation, but the chords add a certain warmth to the accompaniment. I also sing in the choir. I sing first tenor, but I can actually sing any of the four parts. I have about 3-1/2 octaves range, from a low F to a high C or D. [santuccie]
I used to sing with the alto section of a choir, but since I moved from that town, I haven't been in one. And I can't drive two hours away twice a week to still be in that one lol [eventualist]

I played the flute all throughout middle and high school. I used to be really good at it but now I suck. I haven't played in over 6 years. I'm wanting to start playing again. I still have my flute so I'm going to take it to the shop and have it repaired so I can start playing again and even teach my daughter how to play if she wants to learn. [cynddvs]
I wish you luck with that! I played the flute for a little while... but it was never my main instrument. I just practiced it on the side for a while. I could do a bit with it, but not all that much. [eventualist]

No, I can not play a musical instrument. I always wanted to learn how to play the panio. [alexsis]

I actually am lucky enough to be musically inclined. I can play clarinet, sax, guitar, bass guitar, violin. Clarinet was my first love as a child and I had to give it up because my parents couldn't afford to buy my clarinet. So I learned the other instruments (except the sax, that came with the clarinet) in order to fill in my loss. Didn't work! LOL I can play them but I'm not thrilled with it. [hockeygal4ever]
aha,you are great. i can play the heptachord, a chinese ancient musical instrument.but i am not very good at it. [stball]

I can play guitar, but not expert in that. I also learned piano before, but got stuck with that -lol- I don't know why, I have admit that I've music sense, but put all the melodies in to the instrument is rather hard for me. The opposite things with my brother, he can learn piano by himself... oh boy... what a luck [femimi]

I am a bass player. I can play guitar, piano, trumpet, flute, didgeridoo, drums. Music was always really easy and have not had any problems playing anything right off the bat except for reed instruments which I am sure I can play if I practiced. [coolseeds]

I enjoy playing the flute. And I pick around a bit on the piano. Since my son has been born I have started buying him various musical instruments and we have a blast playing them together. We have a clay flute, shaped like an otter that is super cool. We also have a thumb piano, xylophones of metal, wood, and plastic, drums of all sorts. We love music around my house. [makingpots]

Sure. I play violin and guitar, though I don't practice regularly. I know, for shame! But it's like riding a bicycle, once you learn, you never forget. Keyboard is good because then you must handle learning a couple of clefs, and that's useful. It's also easier than it seems! I took a few classes and am already able to play "Amazing Grace" - albeit slowly, though. :) Violin is similar to a clarinet in voice, so if you're interested, it may be the instrument for you. I wanted to play the clarinet, but my music teacher said my buck-teeth would get in the way and I'd get more of an overbite. He Lied! I thin he just didn't want another clarinet player - he'd already picked one. So a stupid lie prevented me from playing the instrument that I really wanted - but got me into the violin. Sometimes I don't know whether to be grateful or not. ;) As you can see, I'm still pretty steamed at that music teacher. But I overcame my anger, and learned violin proficiently in about six years. If I had practiced more, and paid attention more, I probably could have learned it in half the time. I was a little kid, though - and you know how kids are! Go for something - don't let anyone you can't play. Music really expands a person's horizons. [DarlingGirl]

No i am not interested in music besides I was love to play a keyboard but not now because i don't have time now and don't interest that much as much as i did when i was kid . [imranali527]

I play clarinet and my music teacher had problems with his teeth when he was young so he plays the flute [shtundelnezbin]

i can play guitar, bass, drum, piano..but only a little bit of each..I used to have a studio in my house. It was my birthday present so I can play every time without disturbing anyone else for the loud noise:) [ikinta]

i play the keyboard. its way back when i learned my first instrument and i remember how long and hard i understand the notes. [webbuff]

i dont know to play instrument, but i like to hear the instrument music played by others [suren2k6cse]

I play the piano, organ and studied guitar before and right now I really like to play the drums. I'm a music person and it's my passion too. Aside from that, I also compose songs and play it on my own by making notes for the song. [archerzbaby]

thats just beautiful i always want to be able to play clarinet. or any woodwinds. but just cant afford one :D i play guitar anyway [kurasa]

When I was young, I learned to play the guitar myself. It is easy to learn the different chords. My fingers always ache but its easily forgotten especially while singing. :o) My brother had a teacher to learn the piano and I learned the piano using his notes and a bit of guidance from him. I don't play the piano now but I still play the guitar every now and then. Playing the guitar can be so relaxing whenever I play my favourite tunes. [r0131n]

i do play guitars, and i love it when im playing, hehe, it relaxes my nerves and body. i play depending on my moods, but almost everyday i play my guitar. [xeyedsyd]

i used to play the bass, i love the sound coming fron the bass strings... but drumms are also great...for me drums it's like terape when i'm stressed [layanby]
