Sometimes, one of the teens will roll through
our neighborhood with his music up so loud, it
shakes the windows. What's the purpose of that?
It doesn't bother me so much if someone is playing
their radio too loud while driving, unless I'm
in the same car.
Things get even worse, if they're playing
music that I hate!
Do you hate it when other people blast their
music while you're in the car with them?
What do you think about other people
that drive around with their music up
way too loud?

responses and comments:
I hate it quite a bit. Someone had their music balsting in their car near my campus earlier today. My little sister likes to play her music quite loud while she drives. I try to turn it down so she can actually pay attention to her driving, but she always turns it back up. [bwaybaby]
That's so dangerous! [beautyqueen26]
Yeah I do hate it! Especially when they drive by my house and my windows shake and vibrate and I'm wondering " How can they enjoy listening to there music like that when you can hear nothing but Boom Boom Boom!" Sometimes it scares my little boy when car's roll by our house with the bass up full blast. I'm glad it doesn't happen too often but when it does I often wonder if my windows will shatter or break because of that loud annoying sound. [cassandralynn]
They used to do that when my daughter was sleeping at night. That just made me mad! We started calling the cops a lot. They don't do it so much anymore. [beautyqueen26]
I must admit as a young girl I used to always blast my music out but these days I just look at the people that do it and think that they are showing of becuase lets face it most of them are going around pimping there cars and it's like a big competition these days. I put it down to people wanting to look cool and even trying to catch the eye of people but at the end of the day it is all meanining less and stupid but I suppose we are all young once and we all do stupid things I bet they will look back and regret it in years to come [Shelley121]
And, they blow their ear drums out! What's the sense in that? confused [beautyqueen26]
i hate it when they play music so loud in the car especially when i am also inside that car. it's dangerous 'coz they might not be able to hear their surroundings well. and it's also distracting to other vehicles. it's ok to play music, just not so loud that it will put your driving and all the others at risk. [iamnes]
that is really inconsiderate!!! angry i hate it when people do that!!! it is really dangerous as well... i live in a high rise building, so they dont bother me at night... and they can hurt themselves!!! what if they did not hear the horn of an incoming car?!??!?! young and stupid i guess... [raclie]
Yes, distracted driving is unsafe. [beautyqueen26]
LOL yea I dont get it myself...and its not so much the music as it is the base being up WAY to loud...I live in the country and in the summer you get these kids flying by with the radios cranked and the base jacked up and I can hear it IN MY HOUSE...its SO annoying..and i couldnt imagine what it sounds like inside the car...thats just ridiculous! [Ravenladyj]
I do not hate them, but do not like them either. It's a complicated situation, but I still do not like to go and complain against such people. I live inside of a colony, so we do not have cars coming in, but when I'm on the road, I usually have my earphones on so I do not hear such music very often. But when I do, I try to enjoy because the people who blast away with loud music have some pretty cool Equipment that produce some high quality output. So I enjoy them too... bournehappy [bournecaindelta]
Yeah. The thing is, I keep the volumes high enough to cancel out the normal sound of the engines, but low enough to hear honks and other sounds like the one you mentioned. Safety is important, but the number of vehicles on the roads has increased by such a number that the sounds of the engines is very irritating. So the volume is well adjusted before I start moving. So I don;t have top meddle with the music player once I have started. I have observed that most people who have loud music on have their windows open, so there's no chance that they will miss out on the sound of such emergency vehicles. Considering India, there are very few emergency vehicles running around. I seldom see a fire engine, and we do not have 911 services so seeing a police van with its lights on is also a rarity. Although the ambulance service provided is the best and as there are a lot of hospitals, people are usually very fast with this. bournehappy [bournecaindelta]
I hate it when other people do it, but I usually have my volume up pretty loud to, so I really try not to complain much. :~D [ParaTed2k]
btw, I just heard on the radio that starting with next years' models, Ford Motors will be offering a feature that will limit the speed teenage drivers can go, and among other things, prevent the radio from being cranked up too loud. [ParaTed2k]
I hate those people who are not considerate to the others. It is really annoying to hear those music when I was working at home or school. [gary_law]
I have noticed that those that drive around with the music up and the windows open, advertising their taste in music are those that have no musical taste. Sometimes i drive round with the windows down and Radio 4 on high just to get them back. [indium]
We live on a main street, and I really do. It is way to loud when it shakes my whole house, and it happens all the time. [Thoroughrob]
this is a pet peeve of mine. i cannot stand when i am driving or even just at home and cars go by with their stereos so loud that my windows shake and all you can hear is the bass booming. they will be deaf before they know it and p.s. it is not cool. it is just plain annoying. there are laws against it but they do not seem to be inforced as far as i can see. [mikeysmom]
Everytime I hear music coming from a car I say outloud "Why do they think the whole world wants to hear their music?" I admit I used to play my music far too loud, but you just sort of grow out of it. It always bothers me, but most especially if the music has swear words in it and my kids can hear it. That's just disrespectful and I hate that people have no manners or common sense anymore. [katsmeow1213]
Well simply that teen does not have any respect for other neighbors, does he/she? lol I like to listen to my music turned up loud enough for me to hear, but not THAT loud which will distract others around me. I do hate it when other people blast their music while they are driving in the car, but I don't hate it when they are blasting their music whenever I am with the driver. It hates me when they are blasting their music up playing the ones that I really Hate!!! (like rap, hiphop, very very very very very annoying kind of music) rather listen to rock or maybe a little bit of pop. Rock music is the BEST!!!! happy mylotting :) [animeniak]
I don't mind it at all as long as it's within a reasonable time. If it's after 8pm, I don't like it. If it's after 10pm on a Friday or Saturday I don't like that either. Hell, I blast my music all the time! [Mare73]
I love music but people who play music loudly in cars do not look nice. Music is for internal peace but not for crearting noise pollution.Even they people play music loudly in restricted areas ike hospitals etc. which is not good. There must be some rules for those types of things. [singh_prince19]
We have someone that drives past our house frequently late at night with the music so loud our windows rattle. And yes, its extremely annoying. The only time I've retaliated is if I'm sitting at a stoplight with the windows down and some nut parks by me with their music cranked up. I'll then crank up mine even louder to show them I prefer to hear MINE over THEIRS. LOL [TessWhite]
I can't stand it, I think it's rude and tasteless. I mean how can they even understand that garabage at a normal level let alone blast it so that everyone has to hear it. You know I don't get it they can blast whatever it is they choose to listen to but if I put a christian tape in and turn it just a little I get stared at to no end but yet if you stare at them when they are blast their choice of music it's the worst thing in the world. Everyone has the right to listen to whatever it is they want but I think people should have at least some respect in that when you pull into to somewhere like a drive thru resturant gas stations or going down through a residentail neighboord at least have the descenty to keep it at a normal level. [christylynn]
sometimes, one of the teens will roll through our neighborhood with his music up so loud, it shakes the windows. what's the purpose of that? it doesn't bother me so much someone is playing their radio too loud while driving, unless i'm in the same car. things get even worse, if they're playing music that i hate! do you hate it when other people blast their music while you're int the car with them [xaiden21]
they started with me today! [LouiseKnittel]
This is another form of driving distractions that irk the daylights out of me. The loudness would cause me to be severely distracted I feel so mine is kept at a medium level of loudness. Now my son has the huge speakers in his trunk with an amp. The whole neighborhood shales as he drives by. The car shakes as well. Unreal. The damage to their ewars in an enclosed area like this is uinthinkable as well. I don't listen that lopud in my house even. I am lucky I've never been in a car with the muisic that loud. Turn it doiwn is how I feel about it. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]
I HATE that so much, what's the point of blasting.. I heard one just a minute ago~! [kels16x]
I hate music blasting in the car.I love music and i like to listen to it while i am in a car but not blasting-just at a nice level-I live near a school and the young ones go by everyday with the music blasting in the car-makes no sense to me-also they should be concentrating on the driving not the music [jackiew]
Thankfully we don't have too much of that around here. One of the pros of being in the country. It doe bug me. I think it is a bit rude to subject other people to that loud noise. Some towns around here have noise ordinances but it is kinda hard to call it in when they are in a moving vehicle. [Ruthep]
Some people play there music too loud so that other people will notice there cool cars while others just play there music too loud because there high on drugs lol or under the influence of alcohol. While other people play loud music out of frustration because of heavy traffic. Any of those reason still it is annoying. I dont know why some people are doing that too without bothering other people. They can close there Car Window so other people wont hear the irritating sound of the music they are playing. But i guess some drivers dont have manners at all. [belk89]
Actually it does not bother me, quite the opposite, it always makes me wish that I could drive so that I could have music on loud too! Oh I would have the best sound system ever in my car, I love loud music. I get to have it on a little bit loud when in the car with hubby, but he always seems to want to talk through the best loud song and then puts his rubbish on loud instead! I need to learn to drive really! [gemini_rose]
Wouldn't say I was too worried although it does depend on the music being played if it's a well known rock song I don't mind but if it's a rap song turned up full pelt the base does often feel like it could shatter a few windows. Being a bit of a girl racer I must admit I do like to appreciate my rock music in my car fairly loud...not to the point of distortion though otherwise there's just no pleasure in it for anyone. And whenever i've got company in my car I always turn the volume down so only a whisper can be heard. I appreciate we all have different tastes and I know most of my friends hate the stuff I listen to...I just hope they return the favour when they get their cars. [Metalchick]
Only when I am trying to concentrate, it will become a problem.. Other than that, I don't really care. But, they should be very careful, because there are police officers that will give them a ticket for this.. [cream97]
I guess Im crazy but I love it when people are blasting their music. Especially when I don't like the music. I just find it hilarious that someone would crank up silly music to an unreasonable decibel. I love to catch their attention and then pretend to groove to their music, weather it be headbanging or the chicken dance... its always fun. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting [glords]
Inconsiderate people that drive with around with their radios blaring should be arrested for disturbing the peace. It occurs on a daily basis where I live and it drives me nuts. I'm generally a very calm person but this makes me almost snap! When my windows start rattling and my house vibrates I just want to scream. It annoys me terribly. And it's one thing if their stereo sounds good, but most of them have blown speakers and between that and the bass thumping, it's totally ridiculous. And mama's wonder why their babies can't hear. Well, duh. [sanjo0679]
hi beautyqueen what I hate is when the p eople in the cars parked behind my bedroom window, start playing loud nerve numbing rock and heavy metal right in my ears as I am here trying to my lot. I want to reach out and smack them one in the snoot if I could. they have no sense of decentsy concerning other tenants and just sit there spewing out all this mind blowing loud noise. [Hatley]
It doesn't bother me what they're listening to or how loud they play their music. It's their car and their eardrums afterall. But I don't like when boys roll up next to you and think they're flirting with their radio shattering your windshield. And I hate when people leave their windows down just to flash what music they're cranking. I don't care what's on their stereo just like they don't care what's playing on my iPod. [highfiveulation]
It tells me the driver didn't get enough attention when they were little. It also tells me they are rude and have no consideration for other people and our nick knacks. They rattle on my shelves, some days, when they drive by. I'm talking mostly about when they blast that base. I have to think they don't really care about their hearing either. It was getting really, really bad here until a couple of years ago they passed a law against it. Now I don't hear them very much at all, thank you God! [PrarieStyle]
It doesn't bother me unless I'm in the car with them. I like my music loud but sometimes there is a difference between loud and too loud, at least for me. If they want to blast music in their own car while driving then so be it. I however am not too interested in doing that myself. My music may be loud but at least I can tell what is going on around me. [highflyingxangel]
I worry that I will go deaf. [beautyqueen26]
I hate it when i'm in the car with them. I end up with a headache if its too loud (especially in my bil's car) In my own car I leave it quiet when others are with me or off so we can visit. When i'm alone its a bit louder but i can still hear myself think. [saundyl]
i have a problem is they're doing it between 10pm-7am other then that i'm okay with it since its just passing by. i can't say much though because my husband installs those loud stereos systems the teens use now days that they use to blast their music so i'm used to hearing it when i go to visit him at work. i remember when i used to be in cars what were like that. i interned at a radio station so everyone was all keen about their car sound systems. i mean, i don't mind it loud, its the bass that was killing me. too high and my whole body is shaking. i had a hard time breathing and it was only a 2min car ride. [emarie]
Yeh, I know exactly what you mean. I tend to just shut it out these days, as it seems to be part of life here in the city. When out I have often seen it at traffic lights. I sometimes think how crazy the occupant of the car looks. Being an ex-musician, I like music but I like to listen to my own music in my own house and in my own car without a battle from some mega-watt, ear-damaging amplify. [derek_a]
I actually don't prefer listening to loud music. It may damage ears in the future.Yes i would definitely hate it if people blast music in the car that i'm travelling. Those people need to understand about other people who may not like that type of music or sensible to loud sounds. With mobile phones with speaker nowadays.people play music very loudly in public buses which is audible to everyone. Its really irritating and disturbing.angryangryhappy [vicky30]
i don't like loud noises, period. the time that bother me w/loud music is when i'm riding in my jeep w/my window down & one of the blasters pull u beside me a red ight & startle me. i don't like to be startled. [ANTIQUELADY]
well i enjoy playing music while driving but there is an accepteable volume that should be maintained i dont enjoy the "public D.J"style of some peopel young and old alike but when the music is solemn and volume reasonable i just ove it whether am in the car or not [BYOLA2871]
It drives me nuts when I'm stopped at a light and a car pulls up beside me which has their bass turned up so loud everyone else around can hear it. I know they realize what they are doing can be heard, and what is even worse is when they have the bass up as loud as possible, and then they roll their windows down to boot! [AmbiePam]
I don't care for loud music like I did when I was younger so it does tend to irritate me when people ride down the street with it blaring so loud it shakes the windows or you can hear the bass thumping while you are laying it bed at midnight. I think it is very inconsiderate and some of the music today, who wants to hear all that crap anyway. I can relate to people wanting to listen to their music and turn up the volume, but there is a time and place for that. If they want to bust their speakers and their eardrums that is their business, roll the windows up, I don't want to hear their music over mine. You know what I mean! Be Blessed! [change1life]
Oh my goodness yes! I can't stand that. I don't know how they can concentrate on driving, hearing ambulances, etc. I think it should be against to law to put those in cars etc. Just the other day while getting gas, the clerk made a comment about it. Not only was the music "LOUD" it was also "OBSCENE". That is just WRONG. Thanks for bringing up the issue [rgsurrett]
I think if you are next to a car and their windows are rolled up but you can still hear their music its too loud. I don't see how they can hear anything else. What if someone was trying to honk at them to get their attention how could they hear that? Sometimes I really dont' care for the type of music they are listening to but when they get older they will regret turning their music up for the world to hear when they can no longer hear what the world has to say b/c they are deaf from listening to loud music and blowing their ear drums. [mflower2053]
I absolutely hate it! I don't like when I am in the car with someone with blaring music and I do not like it sitting in my own home and someone drives down the street blasting music vibrating my windows. If I am in the car and stopped at a light, I don't like those people blaring their music with their windows down vibrating my car either. One time it was so lound, my daughter started screaming because it scared her! I don't even know why people do that or how they can stand that? Have they gone completely deaf from their music? [dustinnikki]
I dont mind it. When people drive past and it is a tune i like or just sounds good i like to hear it. I like putting the volume up as well not that loud so the whole street can hear but loud. My sister doent ever let me put the volume up though which is annoying!! She puts it really low. [shamzy18]
I hate it too when hearing those loud music that for sure it is so noisy for they always like to listen with those music that would really hurt our ear drum for this young people would always want to have an attention from us.... [iyah10]
Well if they areon the free way or high way i could care less if they are blasting music but i do hate it when they do it in a resident area. Kids today have no sence of the people around them they only think of them selves and it drives me crazy. [blue2000princess]
Yes I do hate it, especially when it's late at night. These kids are all going to need hearing aids when they get old. I bought a Perry Como CD, which I keep in my car. I blast it whenever I'm at a stop light and some one is blasting rap...lol [catdla1]
I cant stand when people play there music loud not only could it be fatal because your concentration is not fully on driving if you are singin along or tapping to the beat but it drounds out anything going on around you outside the car ie. ambulances needing to get past crossings and most of all people. [BettyBooAmy23]
Hate is a strong word. They are being rude and I don't like that. I think everyone needs to balance their wants against the interests of society. Just because you like loud music doesn't mean you aren't bothering other people. Just because no one else will get out of their car and confront you about your music doesn't mean you shouldn't care if your music is bothering them. [DaddyOfTheRose]
I think that it is rude and intrusive. If they want it loud, blast it in their own ears with the windows closed or with headphones. It is very disrespectful. [nanajanet]
I hate it. I hate it when a car rolls up beside me and I am subjected to their loud head-banging music. When a car goes by my house and the music is high, mostly what you hear is the deep beat and not the actual music. That causes me to stop and wonder if we're having an earthquake or something. I also don't like people blaring their music outside their houses. We don't all have the same taste in music and I don't need to be subjected to music that I don't like. My husband will do that when he is washing or vacuuming the car and I have to tell him to turn it down... the neighbours don't need to hear it. And I have to wonder, what harm is this doing to the hearing of these young people? Why in the world do they need to have it so loud? It's unnecessary and inconsiderate. [patgalca]
I think that's a phase in growing up. Kids as we know it have burning emotions within them that they have no control of or have very little outlet. I've been past that phase in my life, and believe me I've been with kids like that in my time. I guess, in some of us there is that need for acceptance, to belong, to mark a territory, to be recognized. These are kids. And yes, I've been really one of those kids that wanted attention. I wanted to be part of a gang, a community, I wanted my presence felt. Yup, I've done it all. Now I look back at what I have done all my life I can't say I was too proud of it, for it has not achieved me anything. But I learned to deal with it. Instead of goin around with the gang and bang our heads at the back of a pick-up truck trying to get some release out for all the pressures from our parents, school, teachers and our peers. I joined and played in band. I played the drums, guitars, and also did vocals. There I found a way to let it all out on the right place to do it. Years past, I learned to respect other people. I knew that I had my time and I found that outlet for the revolution goin inside of me. I had matured. Lol. Oh by the way, I do blast my music on occasion, yeah party or during a invitation for us to play on stage just like the old days. Lol. Cheers! [wolveren]
I dont care as long as it is at a deceant hour. If it is at night,it will make me real mad, but in the day I dont really care. Music has never shaked my windows though, so maybe if that had happened to me my opinion may change. [_sketch_]
thumbdownI find it very annoying. At times I have had to roll the car window up. Its worse when a neighbor drives into the lot at 1 am with the radio blaring. But as they say you can not fix stupid. Or maybe they are not stupid maybe the are just ignorant. That is my opinion on this issue.thumbdown [muscles4me]
When the bass is thumping and the bobble heads are bobbing I just laugh. I crank my music and play guitar on the steering wheel, I know what you mean about those wannabees who rattle their hubcaps off with stupid music that only they can hear. Its usually in a car that can't support the amps and it looks stupid. [gitfiddleplayer]
I hate loudness in everything. But what can one do with these people. It is their own life and we don't have any control over them.I would be happy if they are prosecuted by the law. [balasri]
These just get on my nerves!! I don't what do they get by playing such loud music while driving .. I mean okay want to have a party stop our car and now get the music loud and enjoy... (obviously not in residence area) But please DO NOT do it while driving.. not only us its dangerous to the drivers also!! They lose there concentration.. they dance while driving one of the most common reasons for accidents on freeways.. And they can not hear any other car beside them, not even their horn!! And not only teens I have also seen some guys about 26 or 30 yrs old are also into this business... Why are people so mean?? angry Why can't they think about others who want some silence?? happy [stella1989]
Music is very helpful during journey but it's the volume must reasonable. Exessive volume may create physical problem as well. That's why I also hate it. It also creates problems for the co-passengers to discuss any matter among themselves. Those who drive around with their music up, they should realise the matter that it creates problems for others. [aminul8427]
i'm not thrilled about it,but if it's during the daytime i ignore it. it's the ones that roll through at 3 am and wake my mom up that piss me off. there's no reason to do it that early except to be annoying. [scarlet_woman]
Well... yes, if its music that I dont like or if its so loud that I cant hear myself, I mean, what's the purpose of it? Maybe they want to show how powerful their equipment is... Just tune it down! Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp [Haylie2610]
Yeah, I do hate it. I want to hear the music in MY car, not theirs! [thinksf]
