Okay, I have to admit that I do not yet have an IPod or Mp3 player. In fact I don't even know how to use one or the difference between the two. I know that you can download up to 150 songs on at least one of them and play them back to back, but that is the extent of my knowledge.
I have to admit that this boom in technology has become a bit much for me to keep up with. Although I love music, (probably more than the average person) I have refused to move beyond the CD and as far as I am concerned, no one can make me.
Please tell me that I am not becoming an old folgie at 37. I can not keep up, it is too much. Every time I catch up, they come up with something new. I am having a new tech breakdown. Please tell me I am not alone. You don't have an IPod or MP3 player, do you?

i hvae mp4 player with me this is enough to me to listen the music. technoly changes day byday, but u have to afford to change things [madirajul]
MP4 players can play video files. They can be a whole film if the player has enough memory. My mobile phone can play MP4 but they need compressing to get them to fit. [mihimolly]
I have to say I do not have an ipod or mp3 player that does strictly music. My phone does mp3, but its a pain in the neck to be be switching the card to load, or change songs I wish now I had spent less on a phone and just bought an Ipod...so next time I buy a phone, I am going with as basic as I can get, and getting the other toys seperately... Mooch [oneandonemakesix]
I have an apple ipod. Its nothing fancy but I hardly ever use it. My 5 year old daughter seems to use it more than I do. It keeps her occupied while taking long drive, she will also put the ipod on when she has to clean her room. It keeps her motivated and will clean her room in half the time if she has it on. They're great little gadgets if you walk or run. I like to use mine when I take walks around my neighborhood. [onecutehoneybear]
I too like to listen to music when I am cleaning. I like to dance around and act silly. It makes cleaning fun and not so much like work. My office is in my room and so it is like two rooms crammed into one, since I had to get a roommate. And you said your 5 year old is more advanced than me. Well, rub it in. LOL [Rozie37]
i just have mp3 player,not a ipod.hmm don't sad okay [darkkyo]
I have an iPod. I didn't really care about getting one at first, but I finally broke down and got one cause I figured it would be really convenient for me since I was a music major and had to listen to pieces of music for homework a lot of times. I'm really happy I got it though cause it's so nice to have all my music in a little pocket sized iPod instead of trying to keep track of all the piles of CDs I have at home. I can also put pictures and videos on it and it has lots of extra features, like a stopwatch thing for when I go running with it and games and everything. It's really great to just have all my music with me all the time wherever I am, and also really good for long car rides or plane rides or in a waiting room or something. [elisa812]
This one sounds like a lot of fun, but with all the features, the instrution manuel must look like your average Yellow Pages. [Rozie37]
As of a few hours ago I am a very happy owner of a black 80gb ipod. It's actually an upgrade for me. Before this I had a 30 (or was it 40gb) 3rd generation (or 2nd?) ipod. Admittedly I'm a bit of a technology junky but I do absolutely love my ipod. I use to find it such a pain to be changing cds or mini discs in the train to/from work when your packed in like sardines and can barely breathe let alone move, so it is definetly a lot more convenient for me. As I have a huge collection of music I also find it very handy as it doesn't matter what mood I'm in I'm more than likely going to have the right music for the moment. <3 My mother will probably be getting my old one. [twistedangelwings]
*haha* Nah, my mother is definetly not technologically advanced. My mother never even managed to program the video machine. I will undoubtly be doing the updating for her, despite my undoubtly unsuccessful attempts to try and teach her otherwise. She will only ever have to manage to actually use it which she should be able to manage. :D [twistedangelwings]
you're not alone:D ..i don't have an ipod or an mp3 player either T_T ...i so want an ipod nano! i take the train to work and it would be great to have some music to listen to hehe. but ipods are rather expensive where i live, so that's why i never got around in getting one, can't afford it. hopefully someday i'll be able to buy it though.. [kevsgirlalways]
I am not aware of how much they cost. I have never tried to purchase one. I guess I should go to Amazon.com and see how much they go for. I know a friend of mine got one for free about a year ago, but I was not at all interested in them at that time. [Rozie37]
Well i do have an ipod and i do understand that you can't keep up with all the technology. There are always new things which we don't understand because when you finally understand there's something new on the market. You are really not the only one.My mom can't keep up too.She wasn't raised with that much technology. [eyewitness]
with the fast paced advancement of technology, even lots of the youths are getting tired to keep track already. i can understand those in the music industry, they may be needing to keep abreast with all these. yet, it is still an option for them, too. [trinidadvelasco]
i am also haven`t use Mp3,but i would be buy it in after month1! [czy0578]
neither do i have an mp3 player nor an ipod. i have stopped with the cd player. it seems technology is so faced in advancement these days. since my kids no longer cares about these things either, we no longer see any need to buy any of either the mp3 player and the ipod. in fact, we got rid of our walkman cd player while it was in the fad because, they preferred to be using the karaoke at home. if for them, these things do not matter at all, moreso with me. i prefer watching an mtv over listening to music just like that. [trinidadvelasco]
I don't really need one either, but people are always talking about them and I just didn't have a clue why people thought that they were so wonderful. I sometimes feel like I am missing out on something. [Rozie37]
Well.. I used to have an Ipod it got broke down... :(( I am thinking of buying a new one these days... I'll be buying the 60 GB one... [manzician]
I had an MP3 Player (2 Ggs) (I won it from the office that I work at) and I LOVED IT! I wore it everywhere, at work, out walking, shopping, at home, even when I was sleeping BUT. I went to my boyfriends house to visit and I left it in the van overnight. It was cold out back in March and the next day when I brought the player in the house to use it wouldn't work. I tried everything including changing the batteries but nothing. I was devestated. I had become so used to having music with me (I am a huge music lover). It also bothers me that I had it for only 2 months and it stopped working. So for anyone out there do not get a "Creative" brand MP3 Player. They stop working. I can't get a new one right now because I can't justify spending over $100.00 for one. [PunkyMcPunk]
I do currently own an mp3 player. It is pretty cool as it can store upto 500 songs on it. It also comes with expandable memory in case I need mroe songs on it. Its convenient as I use it when i go for a walk or if im traveling - that way im never bored. [bindishah]
My husband gave me a little player yesterday,it looks like an ipod but is a cheap copy. He bought two ,one for my daughter and one for me. It plays MP4 films and MP3 audio and has a radio too and can display text files and jpegs. Ideal for me as I like to listen to audio books but my old MP3 player was quite small and never had enough memory to play them all and my mobile phone has to have a special set of ear phones which I dont have else that can play mp3 and mp4 too. I have an mp3 player that plays from discs and looks like a normal CD player. It is excellent as you can take a folder full of discs on holiday and you have enough to last the whole time you are away plus it will play normal cd's too. I love to keep up with technology. Cant let the younguns have all the fun! [mihimolly]
the difference between IPod and Mp3 is the IPod can store many songs compared with Mp3 player besides the durability of the product for is the IPod compared it to the Mp3 player i don't maybe because the materials has been used in producing an Mp3 player is cheap that's why it durability is not so popular than Ipod. one good about IPod is they have lots of features and customization choosing your musics list unlike most common Mp3 playing it very difficult or they don't have much features to customized their music lists... [john_striker2579]
I must admit that I have a CD player and an MP3 player (can't wait to get the Ipod video, CD players are useful but the thing is that when you buy a CD and only like 1 or 2 songs on it it gets tiresome... I am similar to you I cannot keep up with the latest technology but always get it (even if it is after everyone else) the memory of an MP3 depends... if your song files are small then you can fit more as well as buy one with more memory... currently I have over 200 songson my cheap player and I love it [blackkatdreamer]
I do have a ipod nano. i really love its sleek design and quality to play both videos and audio.I know that techno changes every day and more advance must be coming to the market All these gadgets help in entertaining ourselves and its just like having a music library of ur own choice with u anywhere anytime. Its an ultimate treat for music lovers. [neo_matrix]
I don't have an iPoD or mp3 player too. Honestly, i never had the inkling to have one. I actually actually bought a really small sized mp3 player 2 years ago but only to sell it after. I didn't even use it personally. Two years ago, mp3 player here were still expensive and only few can afford. It was sold to me for half the price i do not why , i thought maybe it was smuggled goods since it came from other country and much cheaper than when you buy from stores. I made money from it selling it with almost 100% interest but still cheaper than in stores. ü Anyways, i am satisfied listening to music and watching videos in radio, cd player or in the computer. [mayenskie]
I am about to buy either a MP3 player or an I-Pod, however I think an MP3 player would be better as it's compatible with more file types and programs. [jackcrown]
I am a bit ignorant, I dont know many things about IPOD. In addition, IPOD are very very expensive (more than 80 euros in my country) and I dont need it now so Im not very interested in IPODs. Can you explain the differences between IPOD and mp4 or mp3? Good luck and thank you! [ASGeneral]
I have an ipod nano which i am very pleased with. It has just enough space for me to be able to put all my songs on. (4gb can hold 1000 songs) Even though I have an ipod, I plan on buying the zune which is made by microsoft and in my opinion is much better than the ipod. [Danyhaddad]
I just love this new techno, in fact internet is one of the greatest inventso f all time, I don´t have an ipod for me is kind of useless since I don´t travel so much, i guess those little radios are for people that are out of their homes for a long time. [jahvo6]
I don't have an mp3 player, but it's by choice and not because I can't keep up with the technology. I actually consider myself as a techie. I love new technologies, just give me a new toy and after 3 hours, I would know everything about that gadget. I don't have an ipod because I think mp3 players are a bit overrated. Besides, I don't listen to music much. And I always have my trusty cellphone where I could upload my mp3s or mp4, so who needs an mp3 player? LOL. [natalie1981]
Well I don't have a MP3. And just so you know an iPod is an MP3. IPod is just the brand name. It's not it's own thing going against MP3s, get what I'm saying? It is an MP3. I don't have one but I do still have a CD player. I used it not that long ago. I don't like iPods they're not reliable for example they're slow and delicate. Some just think it's the best since everyone has one, they're not. Later though, I'm going to stick to a CD player forever, I'm going to buy a Sansa, they're better and tougher. Wanna check it out? Go to lilmonsta.com [koikoikoi]
Oh yeah?? Well now I feel totally stupid.LOL> Thanks for telling me that. Slow and delicate is not for me. Everytime I purchase a walkman, I get the Sony Walkman. It was the first one and I need to drop it at least a dozen times a year without it breaking. And amazingly enough, they keep going and going. [Rozie37]
I don't have an actual MP3 player or an iPod, but my cell phone does have an MP3 player in it. [Sacrificialclam]
It took me awhile to figure it out but basically you hook it up to the computer and then routed to a website. You put your CD in the computer and the list of songs is downloaded to the website. You also have to free up space to download the songs. It's not as hard as think. There are some instruction books at Wal-mart or bookstores [eachen2002]
I bought an mp3 player first but the thing just quit working on me after about 7 days! So I said to heck with it and bought an iPod nano. Glad I did too! I can put a lot more songs on there and even my pictures too! =) The only drawback is the expense for it. [KatiraN]
Hi,Rozie37! I have a MP3 Player but now I seldom use it.My MP3 Player is just used for copy documents from our teachers' computers.I have my notebook in my dorm so that I prefer to listining to music with my notebook. Most of my friends have MP3 Player or MP4 Player, some of my friend have IPOD.Cellphone, digital camera, notebook and MP3 Player or IPOD are four important items for students, especially universtiy students. [shinjiao]
Rozie, you're not alone. I don't have an IPod or MP3 player. I'm just like you, I don't know how to work them. But I would love to have an IPod nano. I seen them at walmart, they are soooo cute. Small and cute, but they are expensive. [alexsis]
I have MP4 :D 1gb of memory:D, with 400+ songs on it :).. but im planning to buy 30GB video ipod :D nextmonth :) .... [geekspassion]
My husband and I both have mp3 players - I have a 2-gig Sansa e-250 with an expansion slot and hubby has a 40-gig Creative...something or other. I don't like his because, unless you take the time investment to create playlists and fiddle with them from time to time, it's difficult to find any one thing when the thing is full. For me, 2 gig *is* a playlist, and I can just buy cards for various types of music. It's like having 10 mix tapes, but so much easier to make! Then I can pick which one I'm in the mood for without having to put my entire CD collection on "shuffle" and neverf know what will come up next. Sometime's that's fun, but I'd rather listen to what I *know* I like at any given time. We've found that we use them in the car more than anywhere else becuase they are so much easier to use than switching CDs or radio stations. You can program enough music for even the longest road trip and they take up a *lot* less room! We never thought about iPods becuase we had heard so much negative feedback about itunes and about the delicacy of the screen on iPods. Neither of us has had any difficulty with our players and we've had them for two years. Of course, they are coming out with new and bigger toys every month! Hubby is thinking of upgrading because our entire music collection is bigger thamn 40-gigabytes. I'm just thinking about buying more cards. Then again, I have a purse in which to carry them!
