Do You Keep The Same Music Playing For A Long Time

Drives everybody nuts, but once I put a CD in the player in the car, it usually stays in there for a long time. Weeks, even months. If I really like it anyway. Do you change your music constantly or can you listen to the same thing over and over and over again if you really love it?

These days most cars have MP3 players inside it, as does mine. Because of the huge ammount of songs you can store on a cd that way and the very small distances I do by car It takes so long before I get to the end that I don't even realise it started all over again. Also when I get in my car I buckle up, start the engine and get to where I need to be, I simply forget or don't bother changing music. The only times other Cd's make it to my CDplayer is when my GF wants to Listen to hers hehe [gimmemoremoney]
I will try and remember that if I ever get to it. lol I do tend to procrastinate... [dawnald]

HI sis, How are you. Hmm nice topic you started. :D ehehe well here the songs which i like too much so keep listenign them again and again. DOnt have Too much Stock of songs in my pc but the songs which i love too much are there with me. so i listen them at every time. WEl DO Reply Back. Shazy Dude, [shazy52]
Right now I've been playing the Mika CD in the car for over a month. And the kids love it but even they are asking for a change, so I guess it's too long. lol [dawnald]

I think if a singer has released a nice album and you liked it you'll always play it wherever you are. This again applies to movies, if you just that favourite movie you've always wanted you'll be clued to your screen [loxion]
Me too although it's probably nice to have a break in between! [dawnald]

My sister and brother in law hate it when I have the same CD play over and over and over again. See, we have this rule that whoever is driving the car, they get to pick the music. Since my brother in law can't drive the car, and my sister doesn't want to most of the time, that means I get the nomination. It drives them crazy when they see me pulling out the same cd for the 99th time. If I feel like they've had enough, i'll change it. However, I like torturing them sometimes!!rasplol [IrishRose23]

Actually, I'm listening to the same song over and over and over again for like 3 hours already. I'm kind of not that fond of diversity, I want to hear the same, say 10 songs over and over again, and then removing 7 of them at a later time. If I really like the music, I don't change it for a long period of time. Sometimes I even listened to a Japanese song for about a month straight without playing any other songs, even though I don't understand the lyrics. I'm all about music. Right now I'm listening to a Hip Hop song over and over again, because it keeps me awake and the music makes you pump pump pump...yeah. [ishralene09]
Me too although once in a while I overdo it and just can't listen to that song again for a long, long time! [dawnald]

I can listen to the smae music if I really love it. I keep mix cd's and when we drive, we play them. Its a nice variety of different styles. My Husband dosent like hearing the commercials. Hes more into oldie goldies and grateful dead and the beatles. I have all of them and more on the mix's. [eaforeman6]
I should really make some mix cd's myself and/or learn how to use the MP3 player that came with the car! [dawnald]

I've been known to that. There are CDs (my player holds up to six) in my car now that I haven't taken out in months. The thing that bugs me is if I want to listen to them outside of the car, I forget to take them out. It's funny you asked that because just the other day I was thinking I haven't changed out some my Christmas CDs. As much as I love them, I haven't been listening to them, but I never took them out. And I don't see any reason to now since it's almost time to listen to them again. LOL [Reesers]
We did that one year. The next year all the colors were faded and they were white lights basically. lol [dawnald]

Usually I like the certain music for about 1 month, after that I stop to listen it. Then I am looking for something new and fresh. I usually don't listen the same music again and again but there are some exceptions. I can listen to some songs about thousand times and don't get bored of them, but there is only few songs like that. On the other side sometimes I get to like some songs but get tired of them after while and after year or even five years I suddenly hear that music in the radio and start to like it again. [dieorfly]
Usually I can't go for longer than a month, but there are some exceptions! [dawnald]

I usually fill up my ipod - it's not a very big one, so it only holds a few hundered songs. I'll play that for several months, then remove most of the songs and replace them with new stuff and repeat and repeat and repeat.... [slanted]
Now there's another new fangled device that I haven't figured out yet! [dawnald]

In the car I tend to listen mainly to the radio. I like a bit of chat and to hear the latest news updates, along with chance of catching the occasional song I haven't heard for ages, and say to myself, 'I must add that to my iPod', then promptly forget the name of it. I have a plan to fill up my iPod with ALL my favourite songs. It isn't going well as I find I have too many favourites and the list gets longer rather than shorter of my 'to add'. Plus as I said I keep forgetting the damn names! blink [Scoop_Dogg]
I like Jack FM myself but I haven't had the radio on in a long while... [dawnald]

Hummm the only time I would do that is if I was trying to learn a song or something like that. I'm the type that needs to have the music reflecting of my mood when I want to listen to it, or have it on in the car. Music is personal to me, and having been a musician most of my life, I listen to it a bit differently than some do. I've been in the studio a lot, and might listen to the tracks of the music perhaps instead of the whole song. I'm weird like that. LOL! Kash [Kashigurl]
If I were a musician, maybe I'd bee weird like that too! :-) [dawnald]

I have a 6 CD changer in my vehicle but I'm not in it enough so I never really think about it. I usually listen to the radio but when we get a new CD I usually pop it in. I'm always amazed by how quickly I go through a whole CD even though it seems like I'm never in the car! I find that a week or so will go by and I've been listening to the same disc. By then I'll be so sick of it I'll finally take it out and not want to hear it ever again. At home I just pop my i pod on and let it play. [jesssp]
I wish I had a 6 cd changer, but on the other hand I have free satellite radio for a year so can't complain! [dawnald]

I tend to drive people crazy when I get a new cd. I play it until I have most of the songs memorized. [ElusiveButterfly]
me too if it's a good one! [dawnald]

No, I don't keep the same set of music for a long time. I usually download new songs every week and then save them on my mp3. I don't even buy CDs in stores. I easily get bored listening to the same set of music from my favorite artists so I switch music as often as possible. [amira_milka]
new technology, must instruct brain in use, lol [dawnald]

I use either the radio or my ipod to play music. When I do use the raido though, it feels like I'm playing the same music over and over again. They play the same 5 songs like every hour until a new fad comes on. If you have several CD's maybe try putting them in your glove box so you can change the CD while you are on the move. That's what I used to do before I got an Ipod. [ssj3goku]
Not on Jack FM, but then that's mostly older music. but I do have a collection of CDs in the car, I just don't change them that often. [dawnald]

Oh my Gosh! Yes, I sure do play the same song over and over and over. If there are several I like I play them all but if just one it is played again. The soundtrack to My Best Friends Wedding was one of these. Superwoman by Alicia Keyes. So forth. [celticeagle]
Me it's the same CD, not just one song. But sometimes I go back to a particular one. [dawnald]

i do the same...well i do something worse...at times i just keep playing the same song over and over...i can go as far as playing the same for a whole day lol of course i try to do that when im at home alone...i dont want my friend to kill me LOL we usually try to give each other equal time for listening to songs...like one day we listen to hers, one day to mine :p but i used to live in a house where the guys were playing the same cds at every hour of the day and night every day pretty much for 2 months lol they were obsessed with it [JoMarch]
For me it's not the same song but I do often play the same CD over and over and over. [dawnald]

Sometimes I get so obsesed with one song and I keep on playing it endlessly over and over again sometimes all day long! [BeautifulLife]
I do the same CD a lot and sometimes I go back and replay one song in particular. [dawnald]

Hi Dawn, I sometimes keep playing the same disk or song because I just can't get that tune out of my mind. It happens. [lordwarwizard]
Hm, I bet that doesn't help get it out! [dawnald]

I can´t listen to the same song again and again. But I can listen to the same artist again and again. For example,I really love the Beatles. So I can listen a lot to them [ennasus59]
Their music is still timeless after over 40 years. I think both young and old people like them [ennasus59]

My music range varies. The only song that I listen to on a regular basis is "Vultures" by John Mayer. I never get tired of his voice or that song. Since I have a collection from "way back", I never run into having to do very many repeat songs. [RhythmWalker1]
I repeat repeat repeat until it drives somebody else nuts. Then I change it. Unless it's somebody I don't like. lol [dawnald]

Yes, I do that most of the time. If I really like the music I would listen to it over and over again everyday until I get tired with it. It has become a habit. These past weeks I've been listening to Barlow Girls' music and I'm loving it. Every morning after I had my breakfast, I would turn on their music while reading a really good book. ;D [divinegwapa]
Hm, Mika is getting old, maybe I'll check them out. lol [dawnald]

I dont know how you feel about that, but as for me i enjoy listening to many songs at ago, becos it keeps me going and listening to one song over and over again make me bored,so i prefer listen to so many songs at once. That just me. [omobaorun]
I like variety on the radio but I can listen to the same CD over and over again for months. But then it's just to work in the morning and back home in the evening most days. On long trips I switch it. [dawnald]

I only get to do this with Christmas music and that's because if anyone complains I tell them Santa will forget to come. I use gross threats to get my way on this. [savypat]
It's OK, Santa's on your side. lol [dawnald]

If its my favorite music and i like the tune of the music.I keep it playing for a long time.I try to learn the lyrics of the song when playing it.If its the music i love i can listen to it over and over again.happyhappy [vicky30]

I do tend to get stuck on one band or musician for awhile. I'll trade up CDs and songs, but stick to the same kind of music. LOL, your post reminded me of one rainy day when all my daughter's friends were over. We lived in a tiny house and the teens were playing some video about "you spin me right round baby right round like a record baby, right round. . ." ad nauseum. over and over again. I know it was paybacks, but still. ..she and I still laugh about that. [MoonlightSerenade]
Hm, was it the music that was annoying or the scintillating lyrics. lol [dawnald]

Well, I do tend to keep playing a certain song on repeat cause I just LOVE it at the time, currently Sweet Temptation by Lilix, just a cute little teeny bopper song that gets me going whenever I hear it. But just a few days before that I DID change all the music on my mp3 player, because I was getting sick of all the same songs. [candymarie]
Had to go listen. And it's catchy, yep... [dawnald]

I don't, but all my friends always do that. I am always the one to change the cds in their stereos. I do sometimes listen to the same thing, but usually I like variety. [_sketch_]
lol as long as they don't threaten to break your fingers for touching their stuff! [dawnald]

If the album is my favorite album then i am listening the same songs hundred of times. I never get bored of it. Some albums i like to listen for only once. When i am choosing the album i will select my favorite album an i will go on listening the songs for months. [k4karthik]
me too or until somebody changes it for me (but sometimes I just change it back) lol [dawnald]

I can stand the same song on repeat for the after noon :] but if i don't have earphones on my parents get annoyed by the same song playing over and over again... that's one of the main reasons i use earphones most of the time, so people can't complain ^___^ happy mylotting! [chibiXpudding]
I seee.... ^_^ [chibiXpudding]

I love particular music myself and I will play it over and over again its like watching advd you get more out of it each time you play it. [sarcos]
Yep, I remember this Celine Dion song I had heard and then one day a friend told me about seeing it done on TV with the violins in the back ground. After that I had to replay and pay attention to the violins! [dawnald]

I can listen to it over and over because I don't pay that much attention. When my son takes out my CD and puts it on his favorite station I listen to that for a long time until my daughter changes it. But that doesn't last, because I really don't like rap and her station plays a lot of it. That's hard to ignore when you don't like it. [artambrosia]
My kids haven't started changing it yet though they do ask for changes sometimes. (I don't like rap much either)... [dawnald]

for me, i can keep having the same music playing again and again also not a problem... sometime my brother felt up to me and ask me can I change to the other song, but normally i won't change.... if i like the song.... every time i hear also feel the song is very very lovely and nice....lol [candysky]
different tastes though, so I guess it could get annoying for somebody else! [dawnald]

mostly when i catch a bug for a particular track of song i go all out and play it until i am sopaked in the lyrics i become addicted to it tosuch point that everyone around will definitely feel the flow of that particular song around me ,its funny bt thatis how it is with me. [BYOLA2871]
as long as everyone around you doesn't hate it, I guess. [dawnald]

I don't usually listen to cd's because i like to listen to different stuff constantly. Most bands tend to have the same sound for all their songs so i get bored quick. but now i have an ipod which i love because it holds tons of songs and i can set it on shuffle to play all sorts of different songs. [ravinskye]
One of these days I will do that... [dawnald]

I definitely do that. I make myself a CD full of songs that I love and it stays there until I get sick of it or make a new one. My husband hates it, but it is easy for me to just leave that disc in the player. I have several MP3 players that I could hook up in my car, but making a decision about what to listen to takes me too long. It is easier just to have the CD at the ready. [shelearns]
I should make myself a CD. That's technology I still understand lol [dawnald]

In my home, we change music constantly. Usually the same CD is not played twice in a month, though we have over 600 cds... My mp3 player does not get changed very often, I listen to it at work, and though I will hear the same songs, I will only end swapping out songs here and there. That only happens once a month, usually things getting added. In our car though, a CD will be put in and an effort to change it will not be made for months sometimes. Will get tired of it, and a few car rides after a comment was made that we need a CD, we will get one. We have a small CD book in the car, but the CDs rarely get changed out of it, so it will be the same CDs in there since the last time we changed. [UtopianIdealist]
I play the same one over and over again until I'm sick of it, too lazy to change it maybe... [dawnald]
