Music is one of the essential element of today's life. It is one of the best recreational media for the human being since beginning of the human civilisation. Many people are living on music in different ways. When we work, it energise us to work for long time. When I drive my car, I normally keep the music on. It gives me energy to drive for long time. I can't drive without music! An energetic beat cheers me up and gives me the guts to cut other people off(just kidding) while a quiet tune calms me down in heavy traffic. In fact,I've been in a funny situation because of that once-was stuck in traffic in the middle of downtown and a couple of guys were crossing the road right in front of me. oh yes... i really wonder who doesnt like listening to music while driving their car around????????? for me it realyl keeps my head cool when i am in bumper to bumper traffic and when i am specially in a rush to reach home...... i get so irritated with all the other commuters who really dont want to follow the traffic rules and stick to their lanes......thats when the music soothes my nerves..... the sound of the traffic drowns away and i get to relax a bit !! so definately i would go for a huge yes to music in the car!! I am a very nervous (and subsequently bad) driver. Just having the music on softly in the background gives me something to focus on and makes me less nervous. If the car is silent (except for car noises of course) I hear the traffic noises that really don't pertain to me (like someone honking at someone else, who is not me and who is a mile down the road) and they set me on edge. Probably because I am so used to having music playing the background of everyday life that not having it in the car is somehow not natural to me. [crimsonladybug]

I find driving extremely relaxing and therapeutic and to add music whilst I am driving makes it twice the fun and enjoyment! I can play what I like, it is also the only time that I sing along to the music, knowing that no one else can hear my awful singing voice because I can't sing, I know that but I still love to sing along, I have a good selection of cds in my car and depending on my mood will play a chosen cd, they are mostly 80s music. I have to have some music on all the time. If I'm stuck in traffic, which isn't often, I usually have a rockin song going. When I'm running late, which seems to be more often than not, I'll have a good driving song on then, that way I don't slow down and I can see to get there without too much yelling at other drivers. I do listen to some music, while driving my car. If I do not switch on my car-stero/CD player in the car, the journey becomes quite boring and dull. Music helps me to calm my nerves, while caught in a traffic jam or waiting at the long red light, at any cross. However, if the journey is very long say more than one hour, I switch off the music for 5-10 minutes and start it again. I do drive car lot daily about 50 to 60 miles a day. And i do have a stereo system in my car but i am not music lover much so i usually dont keep it on and only if i have to travel long and alone then i keep FM on so i dont fall asleep. [agrim94]

only if I am in the car by myself or if hubby is with me. If the kids are with me their tv is on and I try and listen to what they are telling me. As long as there is some kind of noise I am ok. I can't stand when its quiet. My hubby tries to compete with the tv so we have the radio loud and the tv loud and no one can hear each other speak and I can't stand that.
