i find that when i am working that listening to music really helps me get through my day a lot better because honestly it isn't as tense or something...i really love to listen to music so i will just plug it in and listen to it and it seems to really help me but some people say that they can't seem to concentrate when they are listening to music so they don't like to listen to music while they are at work but its better for me to be able to...so what about all of you, do you like to listen to music when you are at work? thanks for taking the time out of your day to read and review my discussion and hopefully answer it as well, i hope that you all have had a great day so far and that you continue to have a great day...thanks again for taking the time!

yes i do listen to music when I am at work. It is very silent and boring in the clinic so listening to music keeps me awake and going for the whole shift. The patients also feel better when listening to the music I play. They are somewhat relieved becuase of music therapy happy. So it is advantageous to me and to my patients but I choose the kind of songs that I listen to. Not those that are noisy. But I choose jazz music, those from string quartet and sometimes mellow. It keeps me calm and relaxed too despite the stress at work. happy [glay22]
Heck yes I do. I lock the store up and dance in the cooler when I'm stocking! If you think I'm joking you don't know me hahah! I work at circle k... the night shift. When I lock the store up from 2-3 am I wip out the mp3 player and start jamming out hahaha of course I stock and stuff but I dance and sing lol! I always listen to music at work. I love blues & jazz especially the instrumentals. I find I work more efficiently when I have some good music playing in the background. As a matter of fact, I have a sub woofer hooked up to my computer at work. Sometimes when I arrive for work early or stay late or have to work on weekends, I have it turn it WIDE OPEN & jam while I work!!! w00t [LadyMarissa]
I work from home, so I can listen to music whenever I want. Whether or not I listen to music while working depends on what I am working on. If I'm writing about a topic I'm not familiar with or editing a manuscript that requires a lot of work and attention, I do not want distractions of any kind. Music at work is sure to distract me. I like music in taxis. But the taxis here is Trinidad usually play the most awfull rap or dub garbage you can imagine. Once in a while you get really nice music in a taxi and that makes a big, very big, difference in your travelling. [Bluepatch]

I work in a office that plays music over the intercom pretty much all day. We listen to easy listening and golden oldies. It's soothing and relaxing. It really helps to calm your spirits especially when your having a busy day. [mikaray]

Depends on someone's job. Sadly where in my job, its difficult if not impossible to work listening to music, as you have to talk to the customers and do alot of moving around here and there. Anyways although i like listening to music, I don't find it necessary in my kind of work because I get to talk to alot of people and fool around alot xD. Hi jhl930, We all like music and so do I. My work is whole day on computer and so I can hear music whole day if I want, but the problem is that since I am at the reception, there is lot of noise whole day also there is continuous incoming calls, which disturbs a lot and since I have to concentrate on my work all the time, I cannot enjoy music....so now I just get into youtube when ever I am free, I enjoy few songs and then switch back to work.....and I am quiet happy this way.....Nice musical discussion........have a nice day. I listen to music all the time music wakes me up in the morning and since I run my own business I listen to it in my office when I have clients in I still keep in on I have it turned down low so it doesnt disturb our meetings but I think my clients really like the kind of astomsphere it brings out. I keep a Radio/CD player going beside me all day every day. I listen to K-LOVE most of the time. When the radio station is have problems I always have a couple of CDs close by so that I can keep the music going. I work cleaning houses and yes, as soon as I walk into the house the first thing I do is turn on the radio. I can't work without some noise. If there is no radio, which some of my clients don't have one, I will turn on the TV. I have to have something to listen to or I can't get into it. I used to carry my ipod with me but then I ended up dropping it in someones toilet while I was leaning over it cleaning it, and it never worked again after that.
