If I am sad and listen to music it always seems to get sadder by listening to slow music. I have noticed that If I have my mp3 player on and hear a song that gives me a rush, I notice my walk changes.I have times where I'll be in the passenger seat looking out the window and a song will come on. I will picture myself in a sad movie where I am driving off. The music plays and I drive off into the sunset. I have actually cried, Okay I'm a nutcase. I prefer drama queen. I remember when we would be driving away from our house to go on vacation. My friends would be waving goodbye and a slow song comes on. I picture it and cry. Like it was a movie. Music moves me. I used to listen alot. Now a days I have been depressed and unable to listen to music. Does music hit you like that? Does it change your mood? dl

I listen to music every now and then but I have to be in the mood for it. It all depends on what kind of mood I am in though, as to which kind I will like to hear. I usually like soft rock. [stephcjh]
I find music can change my mood from sad to happy or if I am in a mood I want to keep (mellow, happy and even sad)the right music feeds it. Most of all when I have chores to perform rock music seems to get me going and find I get more done and faster. [whiteheather39]
yes of course, when i am in happy mood i hear music more and like music more [venkittaraman]
I like sad songs and do cry on some. also I like the fast song so me and grandaughter dances to them [Lakota12]
Hi Dloveli, I do all the time, If I'm sad I'd think of a song that say my sadness :) LOL If I'm happPppppY I do the same. I think it makes me feel better if I'm sad, happy, boooooored....etc [Shery32]
I do think my mood has something to do with my choice of music....also what I am doing has some effect. When I am doing Crafts I like to listen to something uplifting and I think it has an affect on the outcome of my project...however sometimes while I am driving and thinking I like to listen to more mellow sounds. love songs.....when I am feeling lonely...for some reason it fills my heart. [jillhill]
I agree with you, sometimes what you do effects the type of music you want to listen to :D thx for sharing [Shery32]
ya obviously every music listeners did it me too like that i listen to match it my mood [VisuUnome]
We have alot of different styles/genres of music in our collection so there's something for every occasion. Sometimes it will be Julian Bream but Also I love getting stuff done to System of a Down or Pantera. Then there's stuff I call 'driving music' as it keeps the pace up when you have 600 km yo cover. Music has been shown to affect moods. It was suggested by a psychologist that if you are feeling down, start with a sad song then gradually work the music to upbeat and positive. I'm not sure if that works. [Gemstar6]
yeah sure listening music turna my bad day to a fair one as it gives me my mind a peace , a cool time to think over some topics , adds omething good to get some new way to achieve some incomplete works and helps in many more things . so i must say that " yes it helps in changing the mood " [rosyevening]
Hi friend, Music plays a vital role in my life.Whenever i feel alone and sad i love to listen music. It totally change my mood within seconds if i start listening the music. In this way i keep my self always happy.I think music is a good medicine for all the people to come out their bad mood i suppose. There is something a power inside it.Because of that only every one are attracted towards it i suppose. Have a nice day [sudhajosyula50]
thanks for that info sudha, i guess i should try listening to music even when i'm upset. So far i only listened to music when i was at my best mood. [Dinu024]
I listen to music to match my mood. When I am REALLY mad I listen to Limp Bizkit. I listen to mainly rock. If I match the music to my mood I have also noticed I pick up pace or walk slower. Also my driving goes alot faster when the beat is faster. Music is a powerful tool. A lot of people say that Lincoln Park's lyrics hit how they feel dead on! [theivorywolfe]
I am kinda similar to you.Maybe we are both sensitive people.Music can add emotions into different situations and thus we are much more easily affected. [akifu622]
I do this sometimes. Also, if I feel like I need to get a good cry out, I will listen to something that I know is going to make me cry, just to get all the stress and sadness out. It usually is very cleansing and I feel better afterwards. I can't listen to any country music if I am going through a rough time, it just rips me up, it's awful! [Sionna]
Generally speaking, I am not a person of music. But in bad mood, I would pick up something cheerful, or a comedy, or going to the streets to watch busy activities of the city. I have a friend, who boasts of her cooking skills, and her husband would listen to different nation's typical music to match the food served. Very romantic and knows how to enjoy life, isn't it? [zhuhuifen46]
yeah, i listen to music to match my mood... sometimes that can be hard to do too. i just can't seem to find anything i feel like hearing.. but i have some music that i can listen to whenever. i have music that helps put me in better moods and music that can make sad. music can be a powerful thing to how you are feeling. [sameroad]
i do this all the time , whenever im in a rush or if i serisouly need to get something done , i think , " I need soem thing to motivate me just little bit " so i turn on my ipod and go at it pretty much, i think its very healthy for like stress [Gesusdid]
I mostly listen to songs whenever i'm at my very best mood. It really makes me feel good, relaxes my body and mind. I like songs from backstreet boys the most. [Dinu024]
Sometimes I do. When I'm upset, I'll listen to rock. When things are more calm or if I want a peaceful environment, I'd listen to sentimental music. In a way, music does affect a person's mood. [kevchua]
Some of these things have happened to me such as listening to emotional songs. It makes me relate back to sad times in my life and I feel sad for a while but then when I hear music that gets me all excited I start bumpin that real loud and I get into it. Music is a really powerful thing. Seems like it can alter moods in an instant. I really like listening to music that motivates me or gets me all hyped up because it feels great. [easyflow90]
Music has the greatest power. it chnages the mood of the person. if the person is depressed and then he starts the music he will defenately come out of the depression. whether it is slow or sad music or fast music it will change your mood to positive side only. Music has its effect on plants and animals also so why not human being? [bhargavoza]
i agreee that the music that youlisten is a rfelction of what is portraied in the mind i.e. the mood of oneself.... when are joyous we seem to listen to fastbeats , melody...etc... the sadness i made even sadder by the way of musci..it really gets one emotional ..... [twinklee]

Hi I do..Some times if i am not getting sleep at late nights i use to hear some slow songs.I dont know when i slept again in the morning i use to switch of my computer.Thats why music is how helpfull to sleep. [phanendrav]
Yes, I always listen to music and music does influence my mood. I tend to drive at a faster speed when I listen to music with joyful beat. If I'm having my problem with my relationship, I always cry when I listen to love songs as if the song is telling out my hidden feelings. However I've learned to listen to inspirational songs like Christian music whenever I'm not feeling happy. It will actually helps you to look at things in a positive manner. Therefore never listen to sad love songs if you are facing relationship problems because it will make you worse.. [jenlooi]
Yes, I listen to music as per my mood. Usually I like to listen to devotional song in the mornings, a fast beat during noon and melodious at night! At times i may not be in good mood in morning, so I change to nice melody to love songs. Good songs makes me forget the WORLD! [candy2306]
Any music is fine with me as long as I am in the mood for music. As long as it can take away my attention on the boredom and moodiness, even noise is music to me. I do not listen to music to match my mood. I use music to better my mood. [whyaskq]
yeah i listen to music that go to my mood. [persona_touch]
I was like you before listening music then suddenly changes my moood easily. I also have a wide imagination as I picture myself on the song. Now what I did is everytime I am sad I always listen to the songs that makes me motivated. I realize and learned that we should choose the music that can help us not to put or feel us on the same situation. It is like choosing the right direction or path you want to take. [julbau18]
Reading your response was amazing. It was as if I was writing it. I can relate to every word you wrote. It is true that when I am sad I would listen to sad music. Which prolonged my sadness. I am still doing it. I tend to dwell on things. I guess by promoting my sadness you could probably tell that by your self. dl [dloveli]
I do tend to listen to music that match how I am feelin at the time. It usualy helps me more when im down. And makes me feel better when im in a great mood. Then theres other times where I would just let my music play and a certain song will come on and it will remind me of a certain time or someone and make me sad. To music music helps so much and I love music all kinds.. [R0CKABILLYBABE]
I'm listening to music most of the time, dloveli, and I usually suit the music to my mood. Sometimes I just want to listen to oldies; sometimes it's Country; sometimes Classical. I'm all over the place when I listen to music.I will admit that there are a few songs which bring me to tears though. But I'm generally happiest when I play my music. I have lots of Marvin Gaye on my MP3 player, and I sometimes take it outside and sit and watch the birds and squirrels while I enjoy his songs.happy [worldwise1]
Yes, I have found that music can affect my mood in both positive and negative ways. Sometimes when you are in a sad mood, that perfect sad song can reduce you to tears, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need. Music also has an ability to lift you out of that sad mood if you let it. Music can motivate and uplift your spirit. It can bring memories back of a better time. I think, the most important thing is that if you don't like what the music is inspiring you to feel, change the song!wink [uicbear]
I don't listen to music to match my mood per se, because I don't want to make myself even sadder, when I'm already feeling sad. However, different moods, different problems, warrant different types of music to cheer me up. Last night I wanted to work a little faster and a little harder, so I listened to faster music. Sometimes I'll be sad because I miss someone who died, so I'll listen to music that reminds me of happier times. [danishcanadian]
Oh, I forgot one. When I'm pi$$ed off with someone, sitting alone listening to music that annoying person HATES always cheers me up. ROFLOL The person will never know that I'm listening to it, but it's still satifying to me. haha [danishcanadian]
When I am sad ,I don't listen to music. But when I am happy I listen to all types of music.I have noticed that music Can change my mood. [sarahruthbeth22]
Most of the times I listen to music when I am in good mood and happy. I usually play songs that will make me feel more excited and in a way increase the happy feeling. Usually when I am sad, I do not play any music simply because I am not in the mood to listen. If ever I would play some sad songs, it will make my sad feeling worst.happy [jpso138]
