Do You Listen To Other Language Songs I Mean Not Songs In Your Language

I wonder if mylotters also like to listen music or songs from other countries which has different language with yours. Sometimes maybe we feel funny, but still enjoy the music. So far I already heard (beside Indonesian and English language song) I also heard Mandarin (China), Malay, Korean, Japan songs more often than India, Thailand, Latin, German songs (those are I already heard). Others... hmmm never heard before... maybe you can suggest or give some recommendation from your countries ?

I'm a filipino and most of the songs we play here are either Filipino music or English, I don't listen to such songs aside from that. I find it hard to understand to listen at songs which I am not aware what language it was, but I believe I could listen to it as long as it's instrumental!LoL Also, some filipino singers sing good english songs, as most of them compete on international singing competitions and mostly emerge as champions. [raijin]
Really, you're kidding right? I know that they atleast sing some tagalog songs, since they held on concerts and tourings around the world. [raijin]

I enjoy listening to all kind of music and songs from other countries too. Most of the time I listen to English songs and music. Probably you never hear of Kadazan song before? You should try. [ellie26]
Want to try :) [femimi]

I am currently in Rhodes, in an internet cafe, but most cafes and bars are playing music in Greek! All their songs are Greek and have Greek lyrics, they are catchy and provide a great atmosphere, so think of me in Rhodes responding to discussions on Mylot with Greek music in the background! They have great vocals btw! [wolfie34]

yep, i do this all the time. I have listened to stuff in Mandarin as well (i am interested in China), i love latin jazz (and salsa) so i borrow these types of cds all the time from my local library. i also living in canada, love to listen to french tunes on a local radio station. (i am currently only an english speaker) [cher913]

My native tongue is English but I listen to a vast amount of music being performed in other languages. Being a lover of opera I have many recordings in Italian, French, German, Russian and Spanish. I have also listened to a great variety of songs and arias in Polish, Swedish, Dutch and numerous other languages over the years. The main criterion for myself is the quality of the music and the performance in general. [Asylum]
wewwww... nice opera collection [femimi]

I love music and about the only type of music I do not listen to is opera. If the music has great sound and a good beat even though I do not understand the music I will enjoy it anyway. [kimlot]

I enjoy Tokyo Hotel which is a great German band. [jryjen]

hello of course I do listen to songs that are not in the language that i understand.. but anyway I like the sound and music they do own.. I like german and korean and japanese songs because they kinda own very interesting and very different language.. I think that the main thing that makes people listen to music is their background music and sound [quanto50]
yupe you right, sometimes we prefer to hear other languages songs because the music is interesting. [femimi]

I listen to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Latin, German and Italian. Seems like I can't recommend any other language to you Femi. The one thing I can recommend though. Avoid (C)Rap music. [theprogamer]

I listen to music from French Canada quite often since I'm on the border of the US and Quebec, Canada. But I also have listened to songs in Gaelic and in Middle Eastern Languages. But I like Middle Eastern music without the singing better. I like Cotton-Eyed Joe in French (dance music/song). I like the musical groups: Beaux Domage (good too bad) and Bolle Noir (black ball) in French. I like Celtic Women in English and Gaelic. I have a variety of Middle Eastern music, but I like the stuff that sounds really upbeat fast or folksy. The slower stuff I can't get into. Take care [writersedge]
wow ... you have a various music references :) nice :) Middle eastern music is unique, they have characteristics note using in their songs. [femimi]

I am a Chinese, and I like listenting to English songs. Besides, I also have French songs. Music doesn't have a border:) [youless]

Hi Femimi. Well, I do listen to songs from other countries. I mean I am a Chinese but I listen to English song, Japanese, Korea, Mandarin song of course and also Malay and Cantonese song. I will listen to songs as long as their melodies are nice. That's what I ask for when I am listening to song. I didn't see Cantonese songs from your words, just I am suggesting this. Haha. Those from Hong Kong are really not bad [shadowing]
i also heard some cantonese songs although I don't know the meaning either ;)) [femimi]

I am a Filipino and I listen to Hebrew music. I just forgot the title though, i found it somewhere in multiply. Nice songs! [gelotz]

I am narasimon from India. I too love listening all kind of music or songs of different languages. Language doesn't bothers me, but with meaning i am helpless. According to me any song has a distinct tune that plays a major role. Tune is enough to listen a music or song than its meaning. [narasimon]
yupe you right, tune characteristic is nice to listened :) [femimi]

I listen to both Filipino (Tagalog) or English music. Since I am bilingual, I can understand both songs. And for me, understanding the lyrics of the songs is important in enjoying music. And of course, there also horeign language songs which I enjoy listening to because of the melody or the beat of the songs. [crazy4mc]

Whell, I listen to songs regardless of their languages if i like them. But I try to find translation of the lyrics in the net:P I mostly listen to the music in polish, english and japanese, but also in italian, french, spanish, hindi (I thinkk:P), russian and german. Of course I liked songs in onther langauges too, like turkish, but those are single songs so I can't really say i listen to them usaually. [Pompon]

yea i do listen to other music that not of my kind i love to break sterio type....and im always up to learn new languages [tiwiappnbtch]

My mother tongue is Mandarin. Besides Chinese songs,I enjoy English songs.Recently I like the British Band "Frou Frou" very much. Also I listen to Japanese, French, Korean ones, sometimes. But mostly Chinese and English songs. [jinduoyinqing]

In South Africa we have songs in Afrikaans,English, Hindi,Sotho,Tamil,Telugu,Urdu,Xhosa and Zulu. There are ofcourse, many different people of various race groups here, like Chinese,Indonesian,German and others and we dont always get to hear their music. The ones I have listed are the most common and can be heard on radio and records every day.!!!LOL!!! [JUNGLE]
LOL but it's interesting you know :) [femimi]

Yes I do, and that's because I like Shinhwa (Korea's longest running boy group). But their the very first non English speaking group that I like. [crazypumpkin]

Yes, it's true, it's really sounds funny when you listen to songs with different language because you love listening to them even if you don't actually understand what that particular song is saying. Well, even if I can't understand what these songs' lyrics are, they are still good to hear. They are pleasant in the ears. So I think there's nothing wrong with it. I listen to Tagalog songs (since I'm a Filipina), I also listen to English songs. Other than those songs are Chinese (I started loving their songs when I watched their dram titled "meteor Garden); Japanese (Voltes V song); Malaysian (dayang dayang, i hope that'r correct; Spanish (Thalia's songs, J.Lo's songs), and of course my most favorite Korean songs (they are songs from the Korean drama's that I've watched like Princess Hours and Full House and a lot more) [gorgeousdreamer]

I love to listen to Japanese music. I also listen to music in Spanish (like Daddy Yankee). I usually just like the beat because I can't understand what they are saying lol. [southernpixie]

Some songs in different languages also get to be a hit and make it in our radio mainstream here in the Philippines. Songs like in Japanese, Korean, French, or Spanish. I get to listen to these songs through that. Some of that even get to be a great dance hit. Even though I cannot understand what the songs mean, I get to appreciate and listen to it from radio. Main songs I listen to are either in English or Tagalog. One of the many talented Filipino artists that I would highly recommend for you to have a good listen to is Sharon Cuneta. She has the voice of an angel, very cool, soothing voice. She has many great Original Pilipino Music (OPM). [MariaD]
well... i like Filipino artists, I think I will try to find Sharon Cuneta songs :) [femimi]

I am a Filipino but enjoy listening to songs in English as well as other languages. For instance, since I became a fan of The Corrs and Enya, I now love Irish music. The cadence of the words are very lyrical as well as soothing. I have even memorized two Corrs songs sung in Gaelic from their album "Home" because I found the melodies wonderful. And yes, I know what they mean because I researched about them. It would be embarrassing to be caught singing a foreign song and not being able to at least say what's it all about when asked by someone, right? :) I also appreciate Brazilian music especially those sung by Kevyn Lettau, Astrud Gilberto and the Sergio Mendes band. [writermom8]

Yup, i love to listen to songs that are foreign to me. I listen to artists who use different languages in their albums...like Andrea Boccelli for one, also Josh Groban. I listen to World Music as well. You can try the Narada collection, it's really unique or the Puto Mayo albums. It's great to listen to songs that are in a foreign language relative to my native tongue because it gives me a sense of oneness to the human race. Music indeed is a universal language and listening to it in different tongues, celebrates our humanity and our soul feels more alive. [skimgurl80]

i believe that music is an universal language, a language that even when you do not understand, but you can 'feel' the mood of the music, whether is a happy, sad or romance... oh back to subject, i'm from indonesia, i heard korean, japanese, chinese, and lately because of my new internet connection, i started to hear arabian song or india songs directly from internet radio.. did you like indonesian song like "dangdut" femimi ? [firefoxacai]
yeahhhhhhhhhh of course dangdut is also my favourite ^_^ [femimi]

Yes, I listen to songs in other languages, some of which, I totally do not understand at all. My chinese is really bad but I listen to a whole lot of Mandarin songs. Cantonese is ok too, but lately I've been hooked to listening to Korean songs :) I've a few French songs on my playlist as well, as I find them romantic-sounding. [LadyMarmalade]

I do listen to many songs in different tongues... And there are so many.... heheheeh... as long as these have good beats or have romantic sounds in them, it wouldn't matter sometimes the meaning as long as the music is good.. Hehehehe [ebtenorio]

Aside from listening to music or songs with Filipino or English lyrics, my siblings and I do listen to Chinese and Korean songs. In the much earlier days, we seldom do mainly because we have no other choice but to listen to our local singers or to the American singers. However, with the influx of telenovelas or tv series from different parts of the world like Taiiwan, Korea, and Spain; we do have a broader choice nowadays. We don't only listen to these songs from foreign lands; but we also love to sing along with them. Because of practice and listening to them everyday, somehow we are able to sing along. We also have searched for the English meaning of these songs to understand them better. [mykmari_08]

I like listening to music in languages other than my native language, which is English, even if I don't know what they are saying. I enjoy Latin Pop, Japanese Enka, Japanese Taiko drums, Opera in Italian, and call me strange, but I enjoy hearing the National Anthems of nations. That's actually one reason I watch the Olympics (in addition to being a sports fan). [eclecticsteve]

yes i do listen music of different languages i only listen to the rythem and the cool music jus ...some relaxation not for language..used in that song.. [juhiram]

hi, yeh i listen to all the songs bt of my mother tongue.i listen to hindi, english, punajbi, gujrathi.marathi etc. [sang2k2]

Yes, at times i listen to any music even if I don't understand the lyrics. The tone and the melody is pretty good to hear. I even use them when I meditate. It's pretty cool. [jeanniemay]

i like to listen to the music and aslo like the songs from other countries .though sometimes i can't understand the meaning,i really like it.l love the music very much.^^ [MagieL]

My favourite foreign song is Due by Raf... it's really great and i love it although i can't really pronounce some italian words very well but i try to at least utter every lyric while listening to it... i also love Me faltas tu by Natalie the latina singer... it's such a cute song and it really means a lot to me... [princesslexie1001]

Yes i listen to telugu music songs and also i watch telugu films as every movie is different and unique story. [smartbrain69]

I do listen to other language music, especially when the beat sounds so well to my ears. it's nice to go foreign sometimes and you can tell something about some other countries. cross culture is something good to know so that one is not ignorant. [fredgame]
