When was the last time you bought yourself a CD?
I honestly can't remember. I download my music on to the computer and then burn my CD's.
I remember last Father's Day a new CD came out by Disturbed, and I thought my husband would love it, because he loves that group. But instead of buying it, I downloaded all the songs and made him the CD. He actually liked it more, because instead of just buying a CD I had to put time, thought and effort into finding out exactly what songs are on the CD and downloading them... and I even put them in the correct order!
I need to make myself a new CD. I have been listening to the same one, that I made of all Maroon 5 songs back in August when we went to a Maroon 5 concert. I'm a bit tired of it now.

I don't buy cd's any more because they are so expensive! I once watched a program that told you cds were made so cheaply at 10p each to produce and yet the price they want for them is criminal! I don't buy music from todays chart because it doesn't appeal to me, I download most of the music I want which is individual songs I pay for a subscription which works out so much cheaper than buying individual songs. If I desperately need a cd I will buy it on Ebay and you can save money that way too! When you make your own cds you can be more creative and you can personalize the sleeve cover to the cd! [wolfie34]
Whenever I did buy CD's I'd only listen to a few songs on it anyways, so it's better to just make your own with a bunch of songs you like. [katsmeow1213]
I haven't bought a CD since about 5 years ago, and it was only because it was Eminem and I usually like all his songs. Whenever I see a CD that I'm interested in it's only because I like around 2 songs on it and I just can't waste $50 dollars on that (that's how much it costs back home in my country). So I usually just download what I like and make a mix CD of it. I even did that to my Evanescence CD and i actually like all the songs on it. I keep contemplating to buy the CD but I don't have a CD player anymore and all i need is the plug-in to listen to my ipod in the car. I don't think that much people listen to CDs anymore since they can just upload to their ipod and then listen to it in the ipod dock. [kayree2002]
The last time I bought a CD was because I wanted to be sure I supported the artist instead of downloading their music for free. I wanted to keep up with that, but buying CD's is too expensive. [katsmeow1213]
now, we can get songs very easy by just download it..so i think, people dont wanna waste their money to buy a cd right? i think in another year, the cd method is not releven anymore if we want to get a songs [judinbo]
nay i dont buy cd's i also burn em like you do.well thats a very sweet thing you did for ur dad:],i also burned chinese songs for my aunty before she returned back to her place :D. i used to buy it cz i didnt have a writer back then. [solemnsoul17]
I don´t remember when I bought a CD last time. They are so expensive. And most often, there are always only a few songs on them, that you really like. So I try to download the music that I like and then burn it to CD´s. [ennasus59]
Am I the only one that still buys cd's? LOL I don't even own an ipod yet. I'm still using the old fashioned dial-up, so it takes forever to load a song. [littlebeansprout]
So true. I'm surprised that more musicians don't take their songs off of the internet because people are stealing their songs. I like the hardcopies. I can't explain it, I just do :) [littlebeansprout]
This year we have not had much money but we usually bought about thirty cds a year. [1grnthmb]
It's been awhile since i've bought cd's too. Every so often I'll join BMG just for the huge beginning deal. I don't really burn cds much either. I like to listen to the radio more than a cd. I get bored of the same sound. That's why I love my ipod, because I can put a huge variety of music on it and not have to hear the same sounding music solidly. [ravinskye]
See I can't stand listening to the radio. It seems whenever I turn it on to listen, they are playing songs I don't like, or too many commercials. I'll listen to it now and then to get a sense of the new songs that are out, but as soon as a song comes on I don't like, I change the station till I find a song I can listen to, and if I can't, I pop in a CD. [katsmeow1213]
I don't buy CDs anymore. Life you, I download them from the internet. It's waaay cheaper plus I get to select the songs that I really like. There some songs in CDs,or in an album that I can't relate to so it'll just be a waste. With downloading, you can select songs that you really know, or if you dont like it you can just erase it from your system. Esier, faster, cheaper. =) [alyssa_c]
The last time I bought a Cd was like 2 years ago. I have been downloading also from the net and just play in my pc. I dont actually buy cds and burn anymore because I have an MP3 . [katrhina23]
The last time I bought myself a CD is a game CD I bought last year, probably late November or early December. I spent $20 + tax for that thing, and I think I enjoyed that game for like less than a month and quit, because that game is sooooooooooooooo boring. That game needs some debugging, for updates, functionality, those kinds of things. I listed that thing on ebay for sale, and really surprising.... the number of bids for that game is... amazing -_- and the price too! Like I said above, I bought that game for $20 + tax, and right now the last bid is at the half price of that!!! I guess I'm lucky... if the buyer actually does pay for that thing, I'll be so happy, go to walmart, buy 2 blank CD cases and an envelope, and stuff them in there and send it right away lol. Happy mylotting ~ [animeniak]
Not as much as i used to. Usually with mp3's in the store, people would say "who needs cd's anymore?". Well a fact is that a lot of music artists are not making enough money from there cd's because all of their music is available on the internet. I need to start buying some every now and then. [mexipino2008]
Us low techies like myself still need them. w00t I don't know if I'll ever own an Ipod or MP3 player really. Besides I listen to the radio mostly. I listen to my CDs in the car mostly is all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]
I still buy CD's when there is one that I like enough to want it. I have actually never downloaded a song before. I have not bought a CD in a few months. I bought 2 CD's for my daughter and she listens to one of them every day at least once. [lilybug]
Yes I still buy CDs. Seems I am almost always the last to get high tech in most areas. It took me 18 years of dial up service before I finally got DSL. I do not own an Ipod or MP3 player and won't for awhile I feel. I did try Limewire for music but got a virus that destrpoyed my hard drive not klnpowing if it came from songs there or not. I have Limewire installed again on my new puter but have uyet to downlaod a song due to fear of a virus again. What site do you use for songs? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]
I use Limewire. So does my husband. We've been lucky. Limewire does have a lot of viruses, but I think you'll find that problem with any free download site, since it's a library of other people's files. I try to go for the songs that many other users have, I think they are safest. Also don't download anything that isn't audio, chances are it's either porn or a virus. [katsmeow1213]
There's nothing like a good old original CD. Whenever I get the chance, I buy my albums on CDs or even on old vinyl records, because they keep that specific sound of it's era. [DawGwath]
no, after pendrives and DVD arrived i have stopped buying cd's and and have started buyng DVD and pendrives....just to make a copy of operating system software i ill use cd... [sunilsunny]
It is a long time since I bought my last CD.With the development of technology ,more and more new things that can instead of them occure, such as the computer and mp3,mp4and so many things ,they are more convenient and cheaper .While ,when it is my friends birthday or some important festivals ,I will also buy a CD to give my friends or family as a gift ,it can be kept for a long time ,and when they see it ,they would proble miss you ,remember you ,this is the aspect that the computers and mp3s won't have . [Emilyzhu]
I can't remember when was the last time I bought a CD......Now a days used to directly download from the internet and used it...so no need to buy CD... [himatmex]
Nope i cant remember the day i bought cd's now i always buy dvd's they are cheap and have more space, its a waste buying cds cux its so big and can hold only a few data [mish_maniac]
no need CD any more, even it is very cheap, i listen on the compute. [cathy_human]
yes i still buy cds. in fact i got a couple of cds yesterday. a local music label was having a sale in their warehouse and the cds were available for a Discounted price, with reaching 70%-80%. i don't normally buy cds because i think the music today is not to my liking but i do put an effort looking for cds of my past favorites. sometimes i even buy vinyl copies whenever i chance upon a copy of one of my favorite artist/s. i have nothing against those who download but it just isn't the same listening to songs in my ipod and listening to songs from a cd. the cd for me has some value, sort of a collection, that i treasure and cherish. call me a sentimental fool but cds are still tops for me. cheers!!! [allen0187]
CDs r not that old thing here.. lot of them do buy it.. may be u r tlking abt original cds against pirated ones.. ? [msbawangada]
i do agree with you...as there is a huge source for everything..that is ofcourse internet...then i think there is no use of buying a CD...as we can download everything from internet and burn it on to CD's rather investing more money on buying CD's.... [vk3110]
I cant remember when was the last time I bought a CD. I got one for my birthday last year, some artist i really like, but I was having it in my car and is all damaged already, so this just proves me...wheres the point, I have to downloaded after a year anyway. [mojcica]
no it wat long time back i bought the cd's , now a days every thingis available in the net, so i dounoad that form the net, and enjoy it. even though it is not legial i dont mind, this kind of downloading, since it take lota of time in going and selceting and buying a cd's so i preffer this way [kunthanraj]
I buy CD's because I think the quality is better then downloaded sounds. My fiance likes to burn CD's. [camomom]
The last time i bought a CD is 1 years ago .But now i don't buy them.Because they are expensive for me .Now i always download the music on my mp4 or mp3.It is convinent for me to take and listen. [chenshu88]
CD? no , I have bought it after there are MP3 Or MP4s for sell. It is know to all that, having a MP3 or MP4 , you can listen to the music and watch the movie every time and everywhere. And it is so cheap that you can download the musics and movies on the Internet without pay. it is very popular. Besides, if you want to watch something in a big more screem, why not watch them on the internet, it also take you nothing. If you buy a CD, it not only cost you a lot but also not so easy for you to watch it when you are eager to it. [mengrufa]
Honestly I really do not remember. I think CDs are the past for most of people. Now when I like some songs I just download it and do not even burn on CD. I got iPod so I transfer the music into my mp3 player and I am ready to go. No burning no time wasting, just pure music:) But there are still some people who likes to have something real in their hands like real CD with all the pictures which use to be inside and so one. I do not care about these kind of things. [dieorfly]
I like to have CD's to listen to in the car while I'm driving around, because the radio doesn't always play music I want to hear. When I'm at home I'll just listen to the music directly from my computer, and sometimes I'll use the MP3 player. I don't need the artwork in the CD, just the music. [katsmeow1213]
I know exactly what you mean and although you don't get the artwork that would normally come with a bought CD the amount of money you will be saving each time will be incredible. I tend to download more than I buy nowadays for solely this reason. It's just much more convenient too in terms of doing it from home and not having to go out and buy a copy. Occasionally i'll buy a CD though because downloading can be a little time consuming so this does save time. Sometimes I think it's nice to get the real macoy as you get the artwork and special features on some too. [Metalchick]
I still like and buy CDs every once in a while. I guess that I'm a little old-fashioned, but I still like to feel things. Electronic is fine for most stuff. I still think that the artists need to be paid for their creativity and work. [kdhartford]
Well, sometimes but there are discounted ones for the old cds. If you're asking for the new ones, hell no. They're too expensive. [AlucardChristian]
I don't buy CD anymore. I don't remember when was the last time I buy CD... hmmm probably more than 10 years ago... hahaha. The thing is, CDs are expensive. Why should I buy CD if I can download all my fave song from the internet? Anyway, even if I can't found it on the internet, my friend can always send it to me via email. For me, buying CD is a waste of money. But, watching your fave musician or band in concert is another thing. Even it's expensive, but it's different with buying CD. [julise]
no i dont buy cds anymore but earlier i used to but now days every singe band have either one or two songs worth listing to so why to waste money on them instead make u r own fav list burn it and listen to it [KrizaliD_211]
I still buy cds I have not got the hang of making my own yet! I think the last time I bought a cd was a few weeks ago it seemed really good but when I played it I did not like it at all, so I sold it on ebay! I do like to have the proper cds though because I like to have the proper case and everything and then I can always sell them on if I do not like them anymore. [gemini_rose]
I have not bought any in a while as of now.. I do need to get me some new ones.. I have thrown away some several months back, that I no longer needed.. They had many scratches on them.. I have to get some new ones.. [cream97]
I buy cds all the time and have so many that I have run out of room to put them all. I have a juke box that I need to load with some of them and have to decide which ones are going in it, but haven't even started to do that. I have had the juke box for almost a year!! I need to make the cards for it and don't know how. I also have NEVER made a cd before off the computer, so it is something I need to learn to do, although I am sure that it isn't that difficult. I think that I have over 200 cds and the juke box holds 100, but there were a few in it when I bought it, since it is used and came from a bowling alley. I need to find someone who services juke boxes and really should call around or maybe call the bowling alley and ask them who they had look at it when they needed something checked on it. I don't think there is anything major wrong with it, but I would like to have it checked out and it does need some light bulbs and some cleaning up. I think I'm a little concerned with the cost$$$$! [idowrite72]
I have bought a lot of CDs in the last few months, thanks to Mosarbaer who gives who movie CDs for just 30 rupees. This is a campaign by Mosarbaer to stop video piracy in India & I hope it succeeds!!! [dhatam7]
I haven't purchased a CD in forever but when the new Deftones CD "Eros" comes out it will be a great buy. [jambi462]
no, not with programs like LimeWire or Bearshare [JulianaRose]
Yes, I still buy CD's. For me nothing beats opening up the case and putting the cd in to the cd player or into the computer for the first time. And I always take my CD's any where that I go so it's easier for the purpose of listening to them while driving, since I can just put the CD in and go. I dread listening to the radio, which is why I take the CD's. nothing on the radio that I want to listen to. [motorheadbanger]
