I find that if I want to get on in the house I play something really upbeat and polish to the beat of the music, if I want to cry I'll play something sad and I daren't put anything with a fast beat on in the car as I am likely to speed, but I also find that if I am feeling low if I put some lively music on it can lift my mood. Does music affect you in this way. Please share. Ellie :D
Any responses received tomorrow as away for a few days I will respond to but upon my return. Ellie :D

Yes! It truly makes my moods change or gives me energy depending on what kind it is.....I also think that when I write or do my artsy things....that listening to something that is peaceful like the sound track from Titanic...gives me inspiration! [jillhill]
Yes music certainly is an inspiration I agree. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Well Doll yes and no.. I mean if I'm in a so so mood I know if I listen to sad music it won't help.. xoxoxoxoxoxo [raydene]
No sad music won't help if you in a so so mood but surely lively music that is up beat will work the other way eh! Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes it does effect my mood. If i want to be really upbeat i listen to hard rock , i f i want to be blue i listen to tear jerking county music. when i am on the computer or working in the art room i listen to the oldies [coyotespirit]
Thank you for sharing, I think different types can affect us in different ways. Ellie :D [ellie333]
I don't think that it changes my mood or affects it at all, But I listen to a great deal of music. Sometimes, I don't even know if I have a mood somedays. [motorheadbanger]
Thats a good one. I don't think I have moods somedays either but if a particular song comes on and it affects me I can usually judge my mood by my reaction. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes it deff affects my mood. When I need to cheer up, I like to listen to my favorite song, and music also helps me focus. Ever listen to songs that have significant memories, such as a best friends favorite song, or an ex's favorite song? That also can change my mood. [tigerrr77]
Know what you mean about certain songs rather than just a type of muic especially if it is someone you really care about and you haven't seen them in a while. I find I do the housework better with music the livlier the better. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
I find that I can't clean my house unless I'm listening to music... If the music is on I get up and go... and sometimes in the morning if I need a lil extra umph i'll turn the radio on and I have no problems waking up... [deelightful1]
It makes the chores just so much easier to do with music playing eh! The livlier the better. Oh I go into kitchen and put the kettle and radio on at the same time, go into lounge turn computer on and listen to the radio while responding on myLot in between cups of tea before I start the day. Ellie :D [ellie333]
music, like or not aving impact for our emotional direct and indirectly. music is universal languange which can change our moods from blue being happy and also for the contrary. for me, music is a good Tools to express my emotion also released it out. when i was blue, by listening music can make me feel better and thinking that was not so badhappy [plumwish07]
Wow yes it is as much a universal language as love and most songs are usually about ome way eh! Hadn't looked at it in that way before. Thank you so much for sharing. There are also certain songs I can hear even if I am down and they will suddenly lift. I love music. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes it certainly affects my mood. Songs that its melody really go along with my mood (not dance or even trance) will make me very happy. [jhartana]
Thank you for sharing. I am pleased music makes you happy. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Hi ellie!yes it definitely affects me.Sometimes in a negative way and sometimes also in a positive way. When I was in high school, when my grandma scolded me (I grew up with my grandparent), I would listen to angry music.Linkin Park was such a big hit before, so I would play their songs, and I would cry both in hate and in sadness.Until now, Im still like that but i no longer listen to angry songs.I prefer women singers like Tori Amos.Like today it rained and I loved the weather so much since its summer here.It was surprising that it rained. I was listening to Silent All These Years by Tori and I kind of felt that the song matches the gloominess of the sky and at the same time the cold wind blowing in our open window. It made me feel calm. [TifaLockhart]
Thank you so much for taking the time to share. There are certain songs that are definately the sound of summer days eh! My daughters make up combination CD's that we all can listen too in the car which has a real mixture but ones we will all listen to rather than just the individuals selection. Kate Nash is the one we all like at the moment. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Ya definitely...music affects our mood in a way that when we are sad then by listening to soft music changes our mood. When we are unhappy then by listening we can relax ourselves and after that out mood gets refreshed. This all always happens with me,music is the GOD's power to us which helps us to represent ourselves and we can understand the views of the others. When we are happy then by listening to rock...we become more happy as rock sound behaves like a friend and increases our happiness. [abhishekamb2000]
Thank you so much for sharing. Yes I'm sure that God inspires the people who write the lyrics and the music sometimes with them not even realising it. The Power of Love I think is an amazing song. People know matter what their beliefs love and listen to music eh! Ellie :D [ellie333]
I never really thought that music did affect my mood not until lately at work, I often feel kind of bored while working since everyone is really quiet and I just want to sleep. And so I play upbeat tunes and sing along to it, and it does wake me up, and I have fun at the same time. [smints8985]
I am lucky that I am allowed to have music at work too and it certainly makes the day go quicker. I usually will have music playing in the background whatever I am doing really. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes listening to music really does affect one person's mood. I listen to music everyday. Depending on what music I listen, my mood varies. But it is really up to the person how he manages his moods. [jarves]
Oh yes I agree every individual manages their moods differently the same as a certain song can cheer someone up but the same song can bring someone down maybe because of the feelings they have re that particular song. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes, I base what I'm listening to on the mood I'm in. Or what I hear can affect my mood. [normaroberts]
Thank you for sharing. I choose to suit my mood also. Music affects people in different ways depending on their moods I think. Ellie :D [ellie333]
I think that listening to music can affecto ones mood. I have found that if I listen to happy up beat music I tend to be in a better mood. But in the same sense if the music is sad it can bring me down. [jstaubin]
It affects me in exactly the same way. Thank you so much for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
There are days when I just go through my day in a normal way but if I hear my favorite track or something then that can really put me in the mood for a dance or even just get me started on a task better. Yes I love music and it can give me real harmony and I don't plan on ever not listening to it. I has always made me feel better. I love to move too and sometimes even spend some time on my own dancing and moving around and stuff when I turn on my favorite tracks. There is so much out there too. So many different things to listen too so you won't get bored either. Sometimes when I am really bored I go for a walk but take my ipod and listen as I am walking and I feel good about it but it sometimes make me think and I think about memories and things of that nature. I can recall certain things as if they were yesterday with certain songs that conjure up certain memories. It is still all good when we take that trip down memory lane. I am going to go now and listen to some more music. [bluemars]
A trip down memory lane with records reminds me of one of the best nights in I ever had. I got out my old LP collection and as I still had a turntable put them on. I was dancing to tiger feet and the bay city rollers and status quo to crying over the record that was mine and my first loves. It was just so much fun. I had a friend round with me so we had a few giigles too over some of the collection. Thank you for sharing. I haven't got an Ipod, my daughter has they just hold so much music. Ellie :D [ellie333]
It affects. When not in good mood it changes the mood for better. [p_vadla]
Excellent I am pleased to hear that music cheers you up. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yeah. Sometimes I feel relaxed when I listen good musics. [hioozim]
Good I am glad you feel relaxed listening to good music. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Music effects my mood too, sometimes when I am in a happy upbeat mood and a sad song comes on the radio I find myself getting sad so I usually turn the station. I do notice when AC/DC is playing I do drive a little faster than normal...whistle [Amberina]
Oh I have to be so careful what music I listen too in the car for the speeding factor alone LOL. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
hi ellie-yes i think music has a big effect on your moods-when doing housework i like soft tranquil music as it relaxs me when i feel like a really happy etc i put on upbeat music and so on-i think music plays a big part in our lives as it does affect our moods-you friend littleowl [littleowl]
Hi Littleowl. Yes I think music plays such a big part in most peoples lives whether they even realise it or not. It certainly is a very powerful media too as there are so many messages within the music. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
I used to select music to go with my mood, like if I was depressed I wanted to listen to sad songs. Now certain songs will come on and I will perk up because I like the upbeat music. [winterose]
Hi Winterose, Thanks for sharing I certainly find too that the more upbeat the music the more my mood lifts but if I want a good cry to release something playing sad songs helps get it out. Ellie :D [ellie333]
With so much variety availabe, is is hard not to find the kind of music that changes our mood from being sad to being happy in an instant. It can happen the other way round of course but there are Buttons that can be used to change the mood back again. Have a great day from Deeeky/happy [deeeky]
Another good point that you have brought up is that there are so many items that produce music wherever we go and even places where we can enjoy that same music played by live bands and groups and even orchestras.happy [deeeky]
hello ellie Does listening to music affect your moods? yeah sometimes, i guess that listening to music does affect my mood. like you said, if a person listens to something sad, then they are most likely to cry when tuning in. and also i do not find myself not wanting to listen to an upbeat song while driving along in the car thou. that has no affect on my driving at all, weather if i go faster or slower. the music does not control my driving capability. and good upbeat music is very good to listen to while house cleaning. have a wonderful evening. [RLFinNash]
your very welcome. and also, upbeat music helps one in the aid of exercising! [RLFinNash]
yeah music is something that deals with my sudden mood swings all teh time!!it really works great for me.when i'm feeling low and down in the dumps i would play something peppy and upbeat and i feel better.and when i am happy and feeling great and somebody plays a sad song number it lowers my spirits in an instant.i think it has psycological effect on human beings.no wonder music has been given so much importance in every area. [wittyakanksha]
Music is very powerful I agree. The advertisement campaigns always think carefully about what music to use for an advert and the effect it will have and movie sound tracks are another that help effect the emotions in the film. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Music surely affects the mood. I listen to soft music whenever I feel bored. It has got the magical effect, it creates calmness. [siriya]
Thank you for sharing. Yes music can certainly relax and calm you. Ellie :D [ellie333]
yep i think music is the most important part of my life,i listen music not to set my mood but according to my mood and i can say my mood and music are indispensable from each other.it surely affect my mood and my rhythm. i enjoying it doing my work and for sure the best friend of mine is the music. [amitpuri]
Hello, Thank you for sharing. I like how to liken music to being a best friend, but I can see that as music is loved and it does have an effect on modds certainly and of your choice of what to play. I have just noticed how close you are to 100 and getting your first star. You have achieved a lot in a short time. Well done, keep posting. Ellie :D [ellie333]
actually yes, it affects my moods and my emotions. Can't tell you why this is happening but that's the truth. [raditsa421]
Hi Thanks for sharing yes I believe it affects most people moods in some way. It is also a universal language eh! Ellie :D [ellie333]
I love to listen to music. For me,it´s a relaxing thing. Very often, music makes me happy [Kahawa]
Thanks for response Have a great day [Kahawa]
Yes,but when Will choose music depends on the mood,Music is our friends who can talk with us whatever the mood,lol.. [Petercheung]
I class music as a friend too. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Gosh, a week ago. I'm late~~ eh, it does affect. Oftentimes i'm clear, i mean have nothing in the brain, don't consider anything. Then i turn on the radio, if it's a sorrowful one, i'd feel blue, recall my sore mmemories. but it's animate, i'd be encouraged and try to be optimistic. do affect me a lot [lynettebyc]
Hi Lynette no the time factor does not matter. Thank you for sharing. Yes sometimes music can make you sad and at other times very happy. Ellie :D [ellie333]
My mood definitely affects the music I listen to, If I am upset, I will listen to Joshua Kadison to calm me down. If I am trying to get motivated, I listen to D.J. Rectangle mixes to get me up and moving. [gcabando]
Hi gcabando thanks for sharing its amazing how music can affect us all isn't it. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes. Music has more power than we realize in the moment. The latest scientific research proves that music enters our bodies in a three-dimensional form. It has the power to heal or to upset us. Researchers suggest that we turn on music that matches our mood. Then we change the music to change our mood. For example, if we feel nervous or anxious, we should start by playing loud rock music that will match our mood. The next step is to play softer music. Finally, we should play very restful, peaceful music. That process will help calm us. On the other hand, if we're in a quiet mood, and we want to get energized, then we should begin with quiet music. Then we should play music that increasingly becomes more energetic. [jason_co]
Wow that really makes sense too! I have always believed there is power in music and sometimes the lyrics have messages within them for us but the up to down and down to up makes sense entirely. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
My mom said when I was a baby, all the way up to about the age of ten, when slow music would come on the radio or TV, I'd cry. I didn't cry when I was ten, but I'd become depressed. That doesn't happen anymore. I guess I grew out of it. I can listen to slow, even sad music and it doesn't bring me down. I'm glad I can appreciate something beautiful without it being ruined because of my emotions. I usually feel relaxed now when I hear a slow song. But some songs still do make me cry. : ) [AmbiePam]
Yes I think I would have been relieved to have had a diagnosis for the reason too. I don't understand much about Bi-polar sorry, I have heard of it though, but is it where you are up one minute down the next but can be controlled with tablets now. Ellie :D [ellie333]
i love music. It completely relaxes me when i need it. However when i am upset i hear the song differently and it worsens my mood lol So typically when i am happy, sad, angry, frustrated, or whatever my mood may be, i choose to write instead of listening to music. [ButterflyQueen]
I quite often wrtie to release any frustrations and anger too and then turn what I have written into a poem. I think most people enjoy music but like you say if you are upset hearing a song you would usually enjoy you hear differently, I agree. Ellie :D [ellie333]
yup!!so much.,.,every time i am so depressed i just play rock and loud music,,and i just feel better,.,and if a hear love songs i dont know why but then i would feel so in love,.,.i'd remember all of my crush and all of sweet memories,,.,its really weird!!.,and everytime i am happy,.,i play playful songs and dancebeats,.., ^___^ [izhang]
Thats great that you enjoy music so much and that you change you mood if sad by playing something uplifting and love songs bring back happy memories. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Music is one of the best stress relievers. I listen to music anywhere I can. Music affects your mood. If you listen to some sad song you will sense a gloom even if you are happy. When I want to pump myself I listen to rock kind of music and after I am really get pumped up. Music is great for lovers I mean if you are with you're someone special and you play some romantic kind of music you will feel the emotions very effectively. I cannnot live without music. Music is kinda of tonic to level my moods. Even writng this respense I am listening to music and it help to respond well. [figjam00]
Hello figjam00, Yes music is a good stress reliever I agree better than antidepressants if you are feeling sad eh! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this and keep enjoying listening to the music and pumping yourself up. It is lovely to spend an evening with a partner playing romantic music it adds to the ambience. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes it does, affect my mood, everytime I listen to love songs I just want to sit back, relax, sing along and enjoy the music. [chiccb]
Thats lovely that love songs make you sit back and relax. Thanks for sharing. Elle:D [ellie333]
Well, it depends when the song really catches my attention. If the song catches my soul, I tend to be carried away by the lyrics and the notes of the song. I'm a frustrated musician, but that doesn't mean that I can't play any instruments, its just that, I gave up this career and stopped pursuing it for some personal reasons. Btw, great topic you have. [kalmontague]
Nah, its okay. People commit mistakes. And btw, thanks for the concern. Kudos to you! :D [kalmontague]
music affects my mood. that is why I carefully choose the music that I listen to. I like upbeat and music with positive lyrics. helps a lot when I'm really down. [raindance]
Yes I agree listening to lively upbeat music can lift the mood if you are feeling down. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject. Ellie :D [ellie333]
not really, but my mood will influence the music i listen too, the music has to match my mood blessed be [ESKARENA1]
mood music so to speak, that actually makes more sense than does it affect your mood. Thanks for sharing. Ellie:D [ellie333]
Most definitely fast music puts me in a happy mood.If im already feeling down I do not like listening to slow love music or any type of sad music.Gospel puts me a great mood to. [disvachic]
Gospel is very uplifting happy mucis I agree. Slow sad songs do tend to bring you down more if in a sad mood. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
I feel that music does affect your mood. If you are sad, play happy sounding music and you will be happy in no time at all.Soft meditative music can help you to be more calm in life. [warrenbrown]
Yes listening to soft music can be very relaxing. I play soft music to my son before he goes to sleep with the sound of waves. My daughter though used to only go to sleep listening to very lively music but we all put it down to the fact that I went to see a lot of loud, lively bands when I was pregnant with her and as a baby she would sleep through noise, which was great really. Even now she never goes anywhere without her iPod. Thank you for sharing. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Yes. Fast msuic makes me want to dance and slow music drags me down. Sad music makes me cry and upbeat music makes me tap my feet lol. [stephcjh]
Hi Steph, Yes I think those different types do the same to me too. It is great how music can affects us in different wasys like this eh! Ellie :D [ellie333]
