I heard today on a talk show that some of the classic bands are return.
The eagles, The Police, Genesis and (maybe Wham)
What do you think?
We've seen a return of boy bands like take that. I personally think it will be nice to here these as it wasn't really my time.
Phil collins will be something i'm going to look out for. your views? is this more for the music or money?

I have seen Genesis live in 1991, and I wasn't too impressed. I think it was because I wasn't much used to their music. As far as the others go, I think it will be a big fan turnout. Most artists say they are in it for the music that they missed, you never know [fraser65]
Hey fraser =) I'm looking forward to genesis's reunite, i think one won't come back but i'd still die to see them. =) Yeah. They mentioned something about a gig the eagles are doing and expected to sell out within minutes. (no excatly but you it won't take too long) Kudos! ~Joey [joey_matthews]
Personally i think it all about the money. If not why all them stop and suddenly come back to life? It is because of the overwhelming fans cheering and wants them back? Or they just run out of cash LOL. Well whatever it is we just wait and hope all this old boyband won't get heart-attack when they are performing (chuckle) [xabimaru]
I think some are too. Although some do appear to be in for the music i guess we'll see if they don't manage to sell many copies. Thanks for your input buddy, ~Joey [joey_matthews]
I hadn't heard about Genesis getting back together - but boy I sure hope they do!!! They were one of my favorites. I remember being so excited about seeing them at the Canadian National Exhibition one year and how disappointing it actually was because they didn't take their horn section on the road with them, and it was the horns that made them so great! So if they do get back together they better have those horns!!! lol I know that the Police are doing a world tour soon and that is really cool too. Another one of my favorites. Man, there were a lot of good bands in the 70's! Thanks for the heads up about Genesis and although I'm not as familiar with Wham (is that George Michaels band?), I love the Eagles and will look forward to them too. Rock on dude!!! lol [itsreallymefifty]
I would be awesome if the Eagles got back together. Their music is still heard and enjoyed, even by the younger ones. Phil Collins would be terrific too. [Polly1]
the ones you have mentioned are all well known and i would assume very rich to.so either they want more money,or they feel that there music will make an impact once again.maybe its the adulation of a new generation they seek.whatever the reason,im sure they will all do well.i think it demonstrates to some extent that the music scene in britain today, has not got the strength in depth it once had. [jimbo45]
Wow, that is great news, I love the 80s especially it's the best decade in my eyes for music. I was exceptionally pleased to hear the Police are to return as they were/are one of my favourite groups. Wham I think is a bit dated but any excuse for Mr Michael to steal the limelight as always. However when Take That regrouped personally speaking it was a failure, they were a 'boy' band and now they are hardly 'boys' and besides the group is lost without Robbie Williams. Like a chocolate fondant, with the fondant missing. Phil Collins is definitely money mad and I won't be interested in seeing Genesis return. Some good may come out of it, i.e The Police and The Eagles but the others should stay dead and buried! [wolfie34]
No problemo Jimbo, but I'm a Robbie Williams fan and I love his music, he is really talented, I guess I am biased on this one. [wolfie34]
Hi Joey, I have a feeling that most of these bands are doing it for the money lets face it most have been out of the limelight for donkeys years so they must be running out of cash! Although I'm looking forward to The Police reforming as they were about in my 'era'! Just not sure whether these bands can come up with the same standard of music now they are 20 - 30 years older! [Bizziebod]
Well being an old dear (LOL!), I was bought up on Genesis, and I remember seeing them at Hammersmith Odeon with Peter Gabriel as lead vocalist, and Phil Collins still just the drummer, way back in the 70's, and also The Police at Reading Festival, in the early 80's. As such, I'm not sure I woud want to see them agan now. Life changes, people move on, they grow older, and they can't possibly look, sound, or act the same as they did 30 years ago. I appreciate it is a good opportunity for younger people like yourself to see someone live you haven't seen before, but for me it's kind of strange watching somthing I loved as a teenager, coming back to haunt me now I'm in my 40's. I think a lot of these older bands reuniting are going to be a lot better than the boring garbage that's being put out today. Bands don't take risks anymore, they don't have anything to say but "oh woah is me" I'd love the Police for a reunion tour - get soe ENERGY back into music! [cassidy22]
yup.. u bet ....its era i wish i was part of.. but the good news is they are coming back.. cant wait [bronsonrajiv]
I'd like to see The Eagles reform, they were one top band. As for the others, well I was never "into" them first time around, so it wont do anything for me ! You ask if they are getting back together for the music or money, I'd like to think its for the music, after all, they cant be skint. [HoPeY2]
I have not heard about this yet but i think its great and i cant wait. They are all good. I wander if they will start back out on that show "Rockstar". I love that show its the one where they search the world for new singers for their band [lisa101]
It doesn't really matter to me what purpose they have if they re-form as long as they make great songs. It won't hurt the band members to have something to feed themselves and their families. I love the Police and if they were to reunite, I just might die... but I won't because I won't be able to enjoy it. [nicoffeine]
I think they get back together for different reasons. Sometimes a band breaks up because of a dispute, as they get older and they settle their differences they reunite to see if the spark is still there. Some reunite just for the money. Some reunite for the fame, it is addictive to have people screaming and clapping for you. Some do it because of pressure from the public. Some of them are successful when they get back together and some are just pathetic. [fletch24990]
I would say its more for music. I like music. my favorite group would be air supply, the police, wham, genesis, spandau ballet, duran duran, culture club. Yes Phili collin is one of my favorite solo singer as well. [omega007]
Well, they've always been around, and making music (if you take sting as the police), it's just that they've not been in the spotlights. Any sucesful band that has been around for more than 10 years is most likely not in for the money, since they have enough. They're probably in for their love of music. I'm looking forwards to new CDs by the Police and Phil Collins, 2 lifetime favorites! [Leandero]
Wouldn't this be wonderful if the old groups got back together and gave us some of the real music that they used to give us in the good old days. I think that this wouod be amazing I certainly would be behind this. No I do not think it is only for the money as there are a lot of people that are not that impressed with some of the modern music today and the old music had a real beat to it and the singers were absolutely terrific. I love listening to this kind of music. [kathy77]
For you canadians and "Rush" fans, they are getting back together and going on tour starting this June, should be a great tour. [wilderr67]
You know a side issues what I think's great is that I still think 80's was great and the 90's was good but 2000's been cack. It'll be good to show the younger people that music hasn't made a massive step forward, I actually think we're going backwards with all this popidol nonsence and dont' get me on boybands. i didn't mind wham i mean take that in comparision were a bit of a 'novelty' jokeact. It should be good and I hope alot of young people get a proper feel for how good it was and how meh it's becoming now. People need to get back to making some decent music. Goodluck [Jakker27]
well personally, i would really want to hear the police back and performing again. i cant think of a song that they composed that wouldnt let you either dance, sing or sway with it. i think it would be a huge success again if they reformed... [djtribalfunk]
The only one I wish would come back really is Fleetwood Mac. The Eagles if they want to keep hell freezing over, and the Police would be okay, but the Police had better be sounding better than I think they did the other night, lol. [cremechese]
I really like a lot of the old musical groups. The new music they play today on the radio is just not for me. [albert2412]
I think its cool to think band might come back together. 80's bands have said they might too. It makes you wonder, new music or old? Or both? I think it be fun to see bands that I never got to see together play together even if they broke up for a while :)) [monkeywriter]
The only reunion I'm the least excited about is the Police. I can't stand the Eagles and I'm not a huge Genesis fan (though I can appreciate them). The Police, though... I can't wait to see one of their upcoming shows! [thecaitycat]
I think Phil Collins really is a great "Musical Artist", a true musician as he knows how to play all his bands' musical instruments. I'm still longing for Eagles, I really appreciated their reunion on their "Hell Freezes Over" concert. I like their melodies and how they blend with each other. They are all great rock singers, I hope they do release an album again for the benefit of us younger generations who still appreciate their songs!;) [raijin]
Those were some great groups. I'd have to see if they could bring back the old feel, or if they'd have a whole new direction to their music. I know some of the bands that have been around forever and are still touring are still putting out some great music. I can't wait to see what will come of this. I don't know if it's for the money specifically - though it won't hurt them! I think maybe they've been out and about for years and maybe are starting to miss the "old days" some too. [ShadyGrove]
oh it's definitely money. I am wondering if music companies aren't doing this to reset some resell rights to stop people being able to downoad some of the older music wihout pauying extra fees like you do for newer releases. I have no idea but it is possible. [SageMother]
Yep, there seem to be a lot of bands re-forming lately. As a Take That fan I'm ecsatic that they're back. I've also heard that Boyzone are re-forming! [pinknic]
WHAM!!! Reuniting? Lord help us! [Bee1955]
