Well, for the youngsters today, there is no other way except the MP3 players with a long wire and then a earphone stuck in their ears. For many adults, it is listening to a hi-fi in the comfort of the home. They always listen on the car stereo. I remembered at one time, I did not have a car stereo, so I brought a long a portable radio-tape player to listen in the car.So how do you listen to your music?

When i sister got her first car she used to bring her boombox with her. I used to listen to my music through my home sterio, but now i listen with my psp. It sound crappy at times with the built in speakers unless you use ear phones, but i have a port wher you can use the computer speakers. [ErickJ]
I'm over 50, but I looove my MP3 player. I even have a MP3 auxiliary jack in my truck that I use more than the radio or CD player. I remember hi-fi's and stereos and record players, but I don't have them anymore. I think I still have a cassette and a CD Walkman somewhere. But YES! I DO remember bringing along a portable tape player in my car when all I had was a tinny AM radio with one speaker that kept shorting out. LOL (Thank God those days are gone!) [LaDeBoheme]
Hi jonjee0203! If my stereo were working, I would be playing records on it all the time because I have quite a collection, lollol. However, it hasn't worked for quite sometime and due to my finances, I haven't had it worked on. I'm just so thankful for youtube and pandora internet radio because I listen to music all the time on these websites. Before I got my computer, I was somewhat familiar with youtube but I wasn't really sure what it was exactly. One of my mylotter friends started a discussion about pandora internet radio and it was from her that I learned about it. If you would like to check it out, the website is: www.pandora.com. It's free to sign up for an account on there and you can create your own stations. What you do, is type in a song or an artist you would like to hear and it will play the song or artist or one similar to it. Sometimes I will listen to music on my radio at home, although I haven't done this in a long time. When I'm in the car. I listen to music on my car radio. I too listen to music everyday.I would listen online, or the ones in my laptop.I would also use the iphone and ipod for same.I would listen to film songs, pop songs, rap songs, melodious ones.Again language is no barrier for me.As i do listen to songs across the globe.There are great songs in other languages.And well i enjoy listening to them all.Again,while driving car, i make use of my cd player in my car.Or at rare times, i make use of my iphone to listen to songs.This is only if there is nothing great in FM radio or i am bored with songs in my car.It sometimes is a stress buster and some of the music makes us in the right mood.Personally, i too agree that music is part and parcel of our lives.Something is there in it that makes us to respond to same.People have different liking for different genres of music.Based on the genres, people tend to move to different groups in music.Of course, i love listening to music in a leisurely way.Thanks! I believe iPods are extremely popular with the younger generation. I usually listen to music on the computer/netbook because I paid for a service called Pandora radio. I love it. I'm pretty frugal when spending money for entertainment so listening to the radio is great for money-saving without losing a source of entertainment. [munkiipoo]
Hi Jonjee!^^ I usually listen to my favorite songs in my computer while surfing the net or while doing something at home. We don't have a stereo, nor a radio or anything like that so I listen thru my computer. We used to have a component before but it doesn't work anymore. If I'm traveling and I want to listen to some music, I bring along the headset of my cellphone. My cellphone has an external memory of 2GB so I have lots of songs there that I can listen to. Sometimes when I'm home and tired of the songs in my computer, I turn on the player on my cellphone and put the volume to maximum. It can also be a player even without the headset. happy [secretbear]
I listen to music via cellular phone if I'm not using the computer. I can copy the mp3 from the computer and send to the phone which have a speaker. About ten years ago I played some tape in a walkman which happen to have am/fm frequencies. But these days I have music played with the computer from vlc player to winamp. [cowboyofhell]

Either by turning on the radio or by turning up the speakers on my computer. I never liked to wear ear phones. They always seemed to be rather uncomfortable for me when I wore them. I do have a radio in the car and pretty much in every room of my house. The only problem is that if I go for a walk, I will not be able to listen to music but I think I can live for the fifteen or twenty minutes. [megamatt]
I mainly use my mp3 player because it is handy to have my music collection in one place rather than keep swapping CDs about. I very rarely listen to actual CDs now. In fact I do not buy many of then nowadays but prefer to download simply because it is cheaper really. personally i have found myself listening to vinyls. At 19 this is quite uncommon, especially as i do not dj myself. there is the novelty of collecting the vinyls, for example i recently acquired a 1967 van morrison vinyl never released on cd. but i do still spend most my time uploading these into mp3 form. no-one can hide from the ease mp3s allow listening to be. having 4000 songs all in one place nothing is better. When I'm pottering about in the kitchen though, cooking or doing household chores, I have the radio on. I use my computer. Or at least I did until the other day. I had these great little speakers with a sub, but they just stopped working. OR at least got so quiet I can hardly hear them.
