Listening To Music

Did you ever had some songs that has an impact of your life? Like for instance a song that reminds you of certain individual, place or any significant event in your life. I realy like the song THE SEARCH IS OVER by the Survivors. It reminds me of many things; w/ that I can recall my college days as it was one of the hit songs at that time. However, I am much overwhelmed when I can hear this song as this was a seemingly "theme song" of me and my ex. We both were so inloved w/ each other that time and seems nothing really matters to us at all. We both said "the search is over" as we found each other then. But things changed and we didn't end up w/ each other and the rest is history. How about you, do you have songs that plays significant role in your life? Let us hear the story behind it....come share it w/ us here. Happy mylotting!

When my husband and I were still dating online and after he visited me in the Philippines, he gave me Ricky Nelson's Everlovin' ... that his song for me. But when we got married, my song for him is From This Moment On by Shania Twain. Those 2 songs speaks our heartswub [hornetlover]
I had an almost similar situation w/ yours; the ex I was refering w/ whom i had a theme song w/ was from Holland and we met through online dating sites. Although we didn't end up w/ each other I would say I treasured those happy times we had and the song I mentioned played a great impact on both of us. And if there is a song that can described everything after the break up, that would be "YOU'RE THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME" because he was. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

Hi, silverjam! I have many songs, I love many songs that has a huge impact on my life.. I love the song's by Keyshia Cole, I Shoulda Let You Go, Love, Sent From Heaven, You Complete Me and Let It Go. I also love Ciara's song, Goodies and I Promise.. I love Neyo's Sexy Love.. Montell Jordan, When You Get Home Tonite.. I love all of Chris Brown's songs too. I hate what he done to Rihanna though..sad I love many songs. But, I love the song by Mary J. Blige with Lil'Kim, I Can Love You!! This song reminded me when I spent my first year in college in 1997!happy I have many songs that take me back to the old days in my life. I do love music!happy [cream97]
Well yes, songs really played important place in our lives; in our hearts and in our minds those memories we had can be freshened w/ just the sounds of those songs. It reminds us those golden years we had although sometimes it also reminds us the hurts and pains we had. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

I have a song like that too with a similar experience. There is one song imparticular that really reminds me of someone from my past. We were really "into" each other, but we just didn't end up with each other. The song is by Alison Kraus..."When you say nothing at all!" That song truly touched my heart and I being so totally in love with my ex, I would think of him each time I heard the song. I truly felt that if anything went wrong in my life, that he would be there to help guide me and "catch me" if I was to ever fall. He was almost like my rock and I always felt safe when he was around. Often just knowing that he was there even if I couldn't see him physically...I still felt safe. He had asked me one time "What makes a relationship work?" I shrugged my shoulders, knowing full well what makes a relationship work. Committment, common goals, values and interest as well as love for each other make a relationship work. I went home that evening and made a list of all the qualities that I admired in my "guy!" And the top of the list was, he loved kids, he was a non-smoker, he was funny, he was active and involved in sports, he knew how to make me laugh, he made me feel special like there was no one else above me. I don't think he ever knew about the qualities that I loved about him, though I did let him know that I thought he was a great Dad. [buggles64]
I felt sorry for the failed relationship w/ you and your ex; I understand how it feels lossing someone very dear to you. But that's life; we never can tell of anything. We might be expecting a smooth and happy relationship would have a happy ending but it's not always the case. I felt my whole world shattered into hundred fragments the moment I lost him; it seems a nightmare. Nobody ever expected us to part ways, and we ourselves had the belief of being so solid nothing could break us apart. But again that's life; it happends. All we have are memories we ought to treasure from such experience, and listening to particular songs reminds us some significant events in our lives we can never and won't ever let go. [silverjam]

I have a song that has a "negative" impact on me every time I hear it. Two in fact. The first one is the song "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive. It makes me nauseous every time I hear it. The story is funny though - I was at a carnival in La Crosse, WI (Oktoberfest) and riding the Casino ride where they were playing that song. The brakes on the ride broke while we were on it and the ride couldn't be stopped. We had to spin to a stop, which took 20 minutes. And we had to listen to that same song over and over as it was just a tape loop and the only song they played on that ride. I loved that song when it was first released (1985?), but now I get sick when I hear it even to this day. The tragic "Casino Incident", as I refer to it, occurred in the fall of 1988. The second is "Amazing Grace". It drives me nuts how many people try to sing that song that just can't do it justice. In 1987 I sang that song at the Illinois State Solo and Ensemble Concert and took home the gold in the solo division for singing that song. I can no longer sing, so I don't, but I cringe every time I hear someone hack up that song. Now, do I have a "good" experience with a song? Yes, of course, many. One of my favorites is Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. Reminds me of my wife. Long story there - perhaps some day I will share. [grandslambert]
Well the first one was quite a funny experience although it sounds so disgusting to you. I guess everybody likes Amazing Grace but yes, I don't like some of the revissions they are putting on it lately. I like the original melody. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

yea i had some songs like that....the songs made a big change in my life......now i am happy and not a player again..... [romario381]
May we know what song was that and would you care to share us the story behind that song? Am glad you were changed tho (as what you stated). Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

This happened just recently. one of my closest friends at the office resigned and i guess it's but normal to feel sad about it. So me and my other colleagues, created a video testimonial with a song in the background that i personally suggested to use. It's "My WIsh" by Rascal Flatts. It's so him... I guess he came into that part in his life where he just wants to finally do things that make him happy. I wish he does find what he's looking for. He's very ambitious and very talented. And i'll be very very happy for him if he fulfills his dreams.. Try and listen to the song guys... [minettesky]
That guy must be very important to you and your colleagues as it shows on tghe gestures you did when he left. Well I guess he must be a very nice fellow and everybody is missing his company. However, everybody is apt to be looking for greener pastures somewhere so the best thing you can do is to wish him all the good things in his carreer and personal life. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

One such song for me is Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler. It moved me then and it touches my heart everytime i listen to it. I also like Hero by Mariah Carey, such an inspiring song. It gives me a strength to go on. [malsun]
I* like those songs too and yes they entails very meaningful messages. There are just songs that we can't help to listen as it always reminds us of many things and we are always moves and touched by just listening to them. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

Hi Silver ! Yes, there are a number of songs that bring back the old memories. One of the songs is "Have I Told You Lately ?". There is a long story behind that. But, I can't disclose that ! LOL !! I apologize for that. Have a nice day Silver ! [greenline]
Yes that's true; there are sonbgs that resally touches and moves us in many ways as they reminds us of some very significant events in our lives for both sad and happy memories. I wish you could share w/ us your story too but of course I have to respect your choice and privacy of not doing so. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

We're the same I love listening to the music, yah, there are which can let you remember of the things of your past as well as your favorite songs. [feathers26]
I guess everybody shares the same experience we have; everybody gets their fair share of sad and happy memories of their pasts and there are songs that they can't just forget because of the memory they have w/ it. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotitng! [silverjam]

I get that happening to me quite alot...i dont relly think about the thing that the song reminds me of until i hear it and i can remember a period in my life when i listened to it and what was happening to me at that time..its kinda weird how that happens.... [staceys38]
Yes I agree, everyone has their share of sad and happy experience in their life that connects them w/ certain songs. And even if it's not for a particular experience we are still overwhelmed listening to some of them as they also reminds us of certain period, people and events in our life we once had. [silverjam]

I have some songs that remind me of certain times in my life and songs that remind me of people and all that stuff... music is always on.. i love songs that i can relate to or get lost in because i am remember past times from my life. [sameroad]
Yes that's true, music always reminds us certain period and events in our lives. I hope you would be able to share us here what are those songs that really stirred your memories that you cannot forget about. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

i have lots of song that make me think about stuff 1 song that i heard when i was little i liked this girl in my 4 grade class and every time i heard this song i throught about her. it was by blackstreet called dont leave. also the kanye west song heartless makes me think of my ex girl. to me its like she was heartless to me but i still loved her. lol i just started listening to some rock music and its a song by linking park called in the end that makes my think like all the stuff we do doesnt really matter in the end. thats deep lol [cptlo1]
Well it happends; broken relationsbip I mean. And it's always associated w/ certain songs that reminds you of the past. I hope you have moved on by now. Thanks for sharing a little of your story. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

Actually, many songs can make me think of the past days. Certain melody even can make me in tears. There is a Chinese old song called" Grandpa is making mooncakes for me". I learned it from my grandfather. Three years before, he passed away. After that, everytime I hear this song or think of the melody and the lyrics of this song, I cried. Musis has the power back taking you back into certain old days, just like a time machine. That's one of the reasons why I love music so much. [Clarissa1247]
You're right, music takes us back to certain times of our lives and makes us feel like we're still on the old past days. it reminds us significant events we can never forget. often it brings us to tears remembering those days we sometimes wish we can go back to. That's how powerful music is. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

Just about every single one of my favorite songs either reminds me of a specific person or time in my life. Some of them are odd...the song "Walking on Sunshine" gives me a snapshot memory of my mom and I in her car driving to my grandmother's house when I was a child. My cousin chose that song to play at her wedding a couple years ago also, so now I think of that too when I hear the song. Some songs take me to darker places in my life, but all of them mean something to me. I guess if they didn't, they wouldn't be my favorite songs! [MissAmie]
Indeed they play signbificant roles in our lives. It's not only about sad and happy memories of past relationships but also reminds us of those times in our youth, our childhood and the people we have encountered that influenced a lot on us. I also have different other songs that reminds me of the old days of my childhood and younger years; when things are simplier and life was slow and passive. Every song portrays different meaning and memory to different people. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

yes, there is only one that every time it is played in a radio it really overwhelmed me, that song is entitled "LIPS OF AN ANGEL" popularized by "Hinder".. it really hit me to remember my friend that has been gone from me for so many years until now, he really like this song, and he also loves to listen it and sings it evenly. i also have the like to this song so sickly because it reminds me to somebody... [oxtihama]
I can relate to that as I also have many songs that reminds me of certain peoiple I had encountered in my life before; friends specially. When I hear the song Moonlight Flower I always remember Marcy, a very close room mate I had at college. When I heartd the songs Reality, Cherish, Hello, Where Are You Now? I could immediately remember how happy I was w/ my college friends before; the things we did and the memories we shared. I'll be pondering for a moment wondering where might they've been by now? How are they and what life they are living by now? Thanks for the response and happy mylotting! [silverjam]

This happens a lot with me. Normally it's just songs fitting a certain mood that I'm in or just so happen to be perfect for certain situations. 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' by Green Day for example, was perfect for when one of my friends was deployed to Iraq and found out that his tour would conveniently be ending around September of the following year. Other than that, I often find that I can relate to the moods of songs from certain musicals or listen to the radio and purchase new songs based on what I've heard because I can relate to it. [Elegant7]
That's cool! I guess everybody has different songs they really like because in one way or another it reflects something in their pasts they can always remembered of. And yes, it also depends on the mood as you can always relate to any song that describes most of your mood. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

Ya, Songs Realy play vital role in our life but it is not limited to only one song as a human being we change our mind time to time so we cant stick to only one song whether it may be reminder for our life, I love many songs like Survivor in Rocky, It inspires me to do something in life, I stay in India so I love many India Songs, Titanic theme songs remember like that [net_ankit]
Yes there's a lot of songs that seems appealing to us and we are confused as to which one has really significant touch to us. Well I also have my native songs I like very much but I cannot put it here as not everyone is Filipino so it cannot be understood to. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

Yes riendships always have memories for us to treasures and songs remind us of them and we can just sometimes say "oh those were the days". Well I am also touched by certain songs that reminds me of my friends in my college days. Some of them are the Reality, Where are You Now, Cherish, Hello, Stuck on You and many more. There are also songs that reminds me of certain individuals as well. Thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting! [silverjam]

Am not really a pure music lover but I do like a lot of songs, specially those that are having impacts in my life, they remind me certain events and individuals I was w/ bwfore. Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

I do listen to songs. Some songs do remind me of some people and some situation. For example I have danced for a song for an occasion with my friends for a song. Whenever I hear that song I remember that occasion. I have been the Christmas father. So whenever I hear Jingle Bells, I remember the Christmas time. Listening to some songs do make me remember of some individual. [ajithlal]
Oh I like all the Christmas songs and yes they are having great impacts in me too; they mostly reminds me of my childhood days where christmas is such a great event for children. Thanks for sharing, happy mylotting! [silverjam]

YES,When i am sing asong,I glad indeed to see if in song's heart another lies bound one day to me amid song's momentous cares, pleasant to know that langsyne has its own place . that nook and cranny still retain their accustomed guest and when busier cares and dustier days and cobwebs less on frequent shut what was away, Still as a ballad hummed and lost, remember early friend and drop a tear if a troubadour that strain may chance to sing. [zhenghong]
Good to hear that you can sing because I can't.....lol! Thanks for the response. [silverjam]

Hi,I like many different songs in each period. And when I listen the songs again I would recaal the period of the life.It is very happy. [jingmochuzi]

Yes, I have. Right now the song that would really describe my relationship now is "You're Still the one" by Shania Twain. It's our theme song actually. It inspires me a lot. There are a lot of songs that I can relate to but so few that can really tell that had an impact to my life. [kookay]
Wow it seems you are doing good in your current relationship by now, hope it's going smooth all the way. Yes we may have many favorite songs that we like but only very few that really describes some significant events in our lives that we cannot forget. Thanks for the response, happy mylotting! [silverjam]

I thought that it might just be me but it seems that i have always been moved byumusic more than other people. I seem to feel the emotions more intensely and it makes the song really talk to my heart. [cableman67]
Thank you for your response. I have often wondered at how the same song can mean different things to different people. It takes a truly great song to convey the same meaning to everyone. I really enjoy some of my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing with me! [cableman67]

Isn't it funny how a song marks the times of our lives? I have been married twice and had a relationship that lasted 3 years, and with each there was a "song" that we called "ours". With my first it was "Reunited", since we began our relationship separated, were together for a time, were separated again and then were together again. His problem was that he couldn't stay out of trouble and I should have been smart enough to figure out that I deserved better. I finally left him when he left me yet again!! My second song, I can't remember the title of, had something in it about raising a family........he left me because he decided he needed to carry on his family name and I had 4 children from the previous marriage and couldn't have anymore. He had married me, telling me that he was too old to start a family and wanted someone with kids!! Figure that one out!! The third song is "Amazed", by Lonestar, that my guy used to like to tell me was for me! I still love to hear that song, even if we aren't still together but we are still friends. Going WAYYYYYYYY back, the song "we've only just begun" by the Carpenters, makes me think of my high school days since it was our senior them song! [idowrite72]
Ye's it's very true, music plays significant roles in our lives as they remind us those memories we had in the past that we can't just forget and refused to forget. Be it w/ our special someones or just w/ the ordinary people we had w/. I also have some songs that remind me of my high school and college days mostly associated w/ fun memories w/ my pals. Thank you very much for sharing your lot, more power and happy mylotting! [silverjam]
