What Bands Have You Seen In Concert

A fellow mylotter started a discussion about what your favorite concert venue (outdoors, indoors, etc) and that made me think of all the bands I have seen in concert and perform live. Here is a short list of bands I've seen: Simon & Garfunkle (that was my first concert ever I went to as a kid with my dad) Beastie Boys Barenaked Ladies, Guster Tom Petty (hands down still the best concert I've ever gone to) Phish KC and the Sunshine Band, Wild Cherry P Funk Cowboy Junkies Emmy Lou Harris Buzz Poets, Rusted Root, and hundreds of other local Pittsburgh bands Less Than Jake Here are some bands I would like to see live someday: Tori Amos James Taylor U2 I know I've seen many, many more but these are the only ones I remember! What about you? What concerts have you been to? Are there any bands you would like to see live someday?

I have never seen a concert before! but i wish i can! [piecesB]
It is fun - hopefully someday you will have a chance to go to one! [vera5d]

I havent gone to alot but i've seen James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Statler Brothers, Oakridge Boys, Rod Stewart, Gordon Lightfoot, Carol King and a few others that my parents took me to as a kid. also the Moody Blues. I wanted to see the Eagles this summer but the tickets were like astronomical. Kenny G. I wanted to see also. I'm not sure why I missed that one. [snowy22315]
Those are lots of good ones I would've liked to have seen! I love the Moody Blues! [vera5d]

That's a hard list to come up with! Spice Girls! Ted Nugent Doobie Brothers Peter Frampton Foreigner Eddie Money Aquabats [MeganK]
That's a great list! Doobie Brothers would've been a good one! Ted Nugent too! [vera5d]

I've only seen two bands in concert...KISS, and Queensryche. But I've seen KISS 4 times and Queensryche twice. If you count the bands that opened for them...I can't remember all of them...then I've also seen Ted Nugent, Slaughter, Danger Danger, and Verve Pipe(I think that's spelled right). I would like to see many others but two bands that are at the top of my list are Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. [dogsnme]
Sounds like a good list :) [vera5d]

Hey mom, welcome back, how was your convention? Boston and Journey were incredible. [gitfiddleplayer]

Wow vera5d, i'm so jealous that you saw Tom Petty in concert. I've been a fan since their first album in the 70's. I absolutely love TP & the Heartbreakers. I went to a lot of concerts in high school and in my 20's, but not so many now. I've seen: Barenaked Ladies (several times) Elton John INXS (AWESOME!) The Go-Go's Eddie Money James Taylor Barry Manilow (with my parents as a kid) The Beach Boys and most recently Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers with my daughters (grin) Concerts have gotten so expensive since I was a teen. I remember we could get lawn seats at outdoor concerts for under $10. Of course now I would want to sit in a seat so I'd pay extra but I can't believe some tickets are in excess of $100. What a great topic to start! [pmh0802]
They have gotten really expensive! INXS is one I am jealous of...Tom Petty though is still the best I've gone to - it was just a great atmosphere and everything else. [vera5d]

in 1983, i went to The Us Festival in Southern California. it was: Quiet Riot (first album) Motley Crue (first album Triumph Ozzy Osbourne Judas Priest (who i'm going to see Sept 1st here in Las Vegas) Scorpions and Van Halen.......and back then it only cost $20.00 to see all those bands. throughout the years, i've also seen: Aerosmith (twice when they were on drugs and twice after they got sober) Black Sabbath (with Ozzy and with Dio) Dio Rainbow Ted Nugent (several times) Iron Maiden (5 times) Heart (several times) Cheap Trick (once at a huge arena concert and once at Disneyland.) Santana Queensryche Nickelback KISS Deep Purple Sammy Hagar Alice Cooper (several times) Metallica Foreigner Tesla Boston Toto REO Speedwagon Rush (several times) Bob Seger Rolling Stones AC/DC 38 Special Godsmack and many others, but my brains frying trying to think of them all. basically i LOVE live loud music.....i have since i was about 15 and i'm 45 now and still do. Rock ON!!! [sconibear]
Wow! What a list! I don't think you ever get too old for concerts! [vera5d]

I have only been to two concerts. One was ted nugent (I didnt like him my frienddragged me to the concert) I hated it he was very rude and degrading to women. The second was Paul rever and the raiders, about 6 years ago. They were great I loved them. [mssnow]
That is good that you enjoyed one of them! Being dragged somewhere you don't want to go doesn't sound like fun at all! [vera5d]

I have seen some really good concerts. I can't remember all the acts but here are some: House of Lords Cheap Trick The Beach Boys Kiss Disturbed Queensryche 12 Stones 10 Years Shinedown Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Offspring The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band Aerosmith Billy Joel Gnarls Barkley Red Hot Chili Peppers That is all I can think of. I am going to see Seether at the end of this month. Tom Petty was great. My husband and I took our daughter to that show, which was her first concert. [Ruthep]
Those sound like some great concerts! I'm glad you enjoyed Tom Petty too - was the best concert I ever went to! [vera5d]

I saw Def Leppard in concert in 1987 in Denver Colorado. They were my favorite band and it was a great performance. I alo went to a New Kids On the lock concert around about that year. I haven't been to a concert since then. I guess it's because I've been so busy and I haven't put much thought into going to any live concerts. Thanks for the discussion. It sure brought back some happy memories. [serendib]
Yes it's been awhile since I've been to live concerts. I came back to my country 18 years ago and within that 18 years there were only a couple of concerts here. I would love to see Journey in concert. Steve Perry was one of the best singers there ever was. He had such an amazing voice. I heard that a guy from Philipines is the vocalist for Journey now and he sounds just like Steve Perry. [serendib]

wow you've been to a whole lot of concerts! I've only been to a few- westlife, marie digby and s.h.e (taiwanese group)…also went to this smash hits awards few years back which featured a lot of various artists. [kevsgirlalways]
The majority of them I saw when I was younger in the BC ages (before children, lol) Would like to go to some more again though! [vera5d]

I haven't been to a concert in ages, but when I was younger I went to see Huey Lewis, Bryan Adams, 38 Special, and Night Ranger. Then I got a little older and got into Country and saw Sammy Kershaw, Tracy Lawrence, and Trace Adkins. That's all I can remember at the moment. [momalisa65]
Oh I would have loved to have seen Huey Lewis...I used to wear their tshirt religiously, lol. [vera5d]

You must be close to the same age as me, lol. New Kids on the Block was so popular when I was younger, but I never got into them! Sounds like you've seen some good ones! [vera5d]

The best, most amazing concert I've ever been to was The Rolling Stones, closely followed by Bob Dylan. Other international acts I have seen were Elton John, James Taylor, The Furies and Cliff Richard (free ticket). I've seen many Australian bands live. These were Cold Chisel (many times), INXS, Skyhooks, John Farnham, Sherbet, Renee Geyer, Dragon, Tommy and Phil Emmanuel, Redgum and a couple of 80's bands whose names I can't remember. I'm sure I'll remember after I post my response.happy [Piscesmoon]
I bet the Rolling Stones would be a good concert!! Sounds like you've seen some really great ones! [vera5d]

I saw Styx in concert. 'Nuff said! [rogue13xmen13]
Now, I have been to a few classical concerts as well, and I met KISS when they were promoting their new comic book in 2007. [rogue13xmen13]

I've seen Bon Jovi. And they are great great great! Jon is soooo insanely handsome, lol! Once I really really want to watch Linkin Park in concert, but it was when I was heavily pregnant, so hubby didn't allow me to go, and hubby was out of town that day too. It was fun going to concert, I wish I could have gone to more concert, if only they were not too expensive. Happy mylotting and have a nice day! [ucancallmedissy]
They are so much more expensive than they used to be. I would not want to see any concert pregnant, lol. [vera5d]

I have seen: Jethro Toll Susanne Vega Saxon Manic Street preachers the original line up before the singer went missing. About 11 years ago i went to Hyde park in London and saw Eric Clapton,The Who,Bob Dylan (who forgot his words)and Alanis Morissette among others. I would love to see: Green Day Bon Jovi Plain White T's Nickleback Meatloaf Queen but not sure if it would be the same without Freddie Mercury. U2 [littleone3]
That is a great list! I haven't listened to some of those in a long time - I think I will have to now! [vera5d]

Love going to concerts, unfortunately, we dont get many here .. but i try and cach the ones i can .. Iron Maiden Megadeth Pink Floyd Joe Satriani Parikrama Agni Aerosmith Bryan Adams are a few that i have seen and enjoyed. [Alucifer89]
My hubby saw Pink Floyd, that is one I wish I could have seen! [vera5d]

Oh! concerts! one of the events I want to celebrate. i always go to concerts especially in outdoor concerts with 20 or 30 band that perform till morning. I have seen some international band like POD, Death Angel (god I love this band), some korean band and Chinese bands. Of course I have seen countless local band like Chicosci, Sandwich, Itchyworms, Wolfgang, Kapatid, Greyhoundz, Cheese.. ahrrhh.. just too many to mention. I love the atmosphere of concerts venue and how relaxing being in a rock concert events refresh me. [lossforredwords]
I haven't gone to a concert in such a very long time, but the ones I've been to were great - so many good memories of all of them! [vera5d]

Ha Ha, I have seen two of the three on your wish-list, U2(at least three times) and Tori Amos. I have also seen Simple Minds (at least three times), the Police, Sting, Sade, Prince, The J-B's (James Brown's band...), Big Country, Roachford, Paul Simon with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Peter Gabriel, even the Proclaimers.... As you say, many more that I have forgotten about - I would like to have seen P-Funk!!! [livewyre]

I have only watched some young bands performing live, infamous yet quite good musicians. I would like to watch some legendary rock/heavy metal bands someday. [makatas]
I always like the "infamous" bands - i've seen hundreds of local bands play great shows :) [vera5d]

I've seen Bon Jovi three times, Elton John, and The Eagles. [trowbdon]
Those are all fun bands! [vera5d]

I have not seen that many bands live. I have seen the follow bands: - Panic! at the Disco - The Academy Is - Presidents of the USA and some other bands that I cannot remember the name of. I also went to Radio 1 Big Weekend festival and saw a lot of live acts there including: - Gwen Stefani - Foo Fighters - Black Eyed Peas and many other bands. [Elixiress]
I used to like Pot Usa when I was in high school. that is funny I forgot about them! Sounds like a great list of concerts, thanks for the response! [vera5d]

I haven't been to a lot of concerts, but I have seen Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, Dave Matthews Band, and Roger Waters (the guitarist from Pink Floyd). [phoenix25]
Might not be very many but the ones you did go to sound like they were good concerts! [vera5d]

I have been to many concerts, but I doubt I could remember every one of them, so just the ones I found really good. Jerry Lee Lewis made an impression on me, it was 18 years ago, but I still remember it vividly. Then David Bowie, really great guy and great concert as well, R.Stones last year, Franz Ferdinand, Billy Idol, and some of our local bands, no point mentioning, since you probably haven't heard about them. I want to see U2 live, The Killers, Green Day, and some more, but just can't remember right now. [Natrak]
Sounds like a great list! I want to see u2 too someday, as I think that would just be a good atmosphere, but I have no idea if they even still tour :) [vera5d]

There's a lot and most of them are bands here in the Philippines, the lastest concert that I attended was the Pulp Summer Slam 08. The concern was great there were international banda but I forgot thier names. [anastacia22]
sounds like fun! [vera5d]

Let's see. I am 30 years old now. I have been to two concerts in my lifetime. Both of the concerts were at Pine Nob in Michigan. They were out door concerts. I went to both of them when I was 18 years old. The first one was on my birthday. It was Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The second was Adam Sandler. [moneyandgc]
Adam Sandler is funny - my hubby loves him! [vera5d]

I have been to a lot of concerts. I also worked at Alpine Valley and saw a lot because I was "working". I use that term loosely because my job was to ensure the fans where having fun and I just got to walk around maybe fill a beer if it got knocked over or what not. So off the top of my head the first was Bob Dylan, then Pantera (3 Times),Ozzfest 97 98 and 2005,Aerosmith,Type O Negative (8 Times),Pink Floyd, Dave Matthews (4 Times), Life of Agony, George Clinton (3 Times), Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty (2 time), 311, Marylyn Manson, White Zombie, O.A.R., MOE, Corrosion Of Conformaity, Family Values 2005? or 2006, Smashing Pumpkins, The Counting Crows, Toad The Wet Sproket. Im sure there's more but I cant think of them. I have pretty good memories from these shows. [bigbudz419]
That sounds like a neat job! Lots of good shows :) [vera5d]

I keep telling myself that I need to start and keep an updated list of bands I see in concert...and I never do, lol. Therefore, there are so many that I know I will forget. Most of the bands I see are ones that my husband likes, and he's into metal music so it's not necessarily my preference of music. But, oh well...I enjoy the atmosphere of concerts :) Finger Eleven The Fall of Troy (3 times) Bear vs. Shark Since By Man Dethklok Chimaira Soilent Green Coheed & Cambria Deftones Hinder Papa Roach Buckcherry Tool Weezer Dashboard Confessional Thursday There are so many more I can't remember. We also went to Warped Tour one summer, so that was like 30 bands, lol. [welikemoney]
I did warped tour one summer too but couldn't even remember it was called Warp Tour, lol. Needless to say I don't remember who played either :) Was good fun though - I can remember what I wore and what we ate, lol. [vera5d]
