sure we've heard barry manilow croon "i write the songs", a song which according to him can make young girls cry. but the song that can make my eyes water is far from being a lovesong and that's semisonic's Closing Time. it just reminds me of the good and bad times i've had with my friends from college who i no longer get to see.

well a lot of songs can bring tears to my eyes...be it for their lovely sentiments, their sad story, their happy story etc. But there is one song in particular that makes me bawl, for sadness and appreciation. MANY songs can make me cry. Some of them are the songs that i used to listen to back when i was still in school. Some others make me cry because of some other different reasons. But the one that could easily make me cry these late few months is the instrumental theme song for Japanese anime Naruto, titled "Sadness and Sorrow". I was cleaning my room, and I remember just stopping and sitting down, in a laundry basket at that!, and crying my eyes out!. There's also a little known song called "a dozen red roses" forget who it's sung by, but it's about a dad that dies when his daughter is very young. He writes her a note telling her how much he loves her and he'll always be there with her and that he's with her while she's walking down the aisle, and on her wedding day has her mom leave in her bride's room with a dozen red roses and she gets the letter just before walking down the aisle. No, actually it reminds me of dancing with my dad and my papa joe at my wedding, I lost my papa joe in 1997 and my dad this march. The pain refers to watching them suffer from the cancer they had, but if I think back on my wedding day when I danced with them both I can feel us dancing again. [EagleEyes]

This might be strange, but the most audio thing that gets me near crying, is not a song, but rather a melody used in the naruto anime series. I believe anyone who knows the anime knows also the melody, "Sadness and Sorrow!" Tears just jump to your eyes! My song is "Without You" fom the musical Rent. Its a sad song anyway but it has a special meaning for me. My grandmother died suddenly after a long illness back in 1999. I still remember the date of her funeral because I had booked to see Rent in London for its final performance on Oct 30th 1999 and my grandmother's funeral was the day before.
