What Type Of Music Do You Listen To.

I do not usually listen to music, but yesterday I decided to try Shoutcast, I was rather upset and I needed to take my mind off my troubles. I had had a web site that played the music I loved, but then it started to charge a fee and I could not afford it, so I went all through the Classical music section until I came to one that played Opera. I have been playing it for at least ten hours, although I have not been on the computer all that time. So what type of music do you listen to when you feel a little blue and have to pick yourself up from the doldrums?

hello suspenseful i enjoy listening to all different kinds of music, you name it. i like some country songs, some easy listening tunes, some classical music, some blues, some pop, i like the big 80's era alot still, some rock n' roll, and i like to listen to about all of the Christmas music that you can think of. youtube is a very good free music website. you name it, just do a search on their site for whatever kind of music that you want to listen to and i am sure that you will be able to find what you are looking for. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! [RLFinNash]
I love Youtube, I can find some of the recordings from the fifties and sixties and some of the artists that are now dead, that I used to listen to, but never saw. [suspenseful]

I like all kinds of music. Country, rock,r&b,classical, gospel,. I think it all depends on what mood I am in. I like music from the 7o's and 80s. Todays music is alright but I just enjoy older music better from when I was a teenager. [Shaun72]
I like classical, country, and the old rock and roll as well as stuff from the sixties to the eighties. I have no idea who the artists of today are. I also like some of the songs from the fifties and from the 1940s what I heard in the old movies. [suspenseful]

I love all types of music. But when I am down in the dumps, the only music that lifts my spirit is gospel. It is a real pick me up to hear about the goodness of God. Especially, when it is upbest music. I start dancing around like David did. Like the Bible says, the joy of the Lord is my strength. And yes, I am obsessed with God. [Rozie37]
I like the old Hymns. I am not much into dancing, but I do like doing a few steps when no one is looking. [suspenseful]

From the College days I am keen on Pop songs of 1970s, 1980s and to some extend 1990s. Otherise, I have country songs of our local dialect and devotional songs of both instrumental and vocal. [ssh123]
I have not heard much from the 90s, I got into more of opera and I always liked sacred music and classical, but mostly from the classical and romantic era. I love the pop songs from the fifties to the eighties, but the eighties are the best. [suspenseful]

The only kind of music I have ever listened to is country and western music. I used to like rock but not hard rock. I have always loved Elvis, Buddy Holly, and a few others as well. [Grandmaof2]
I never knew that. Usually when they do a movie about a singer, the one playing the part cannot really sing that good so they dub the music over her or his voice. Like in My Fair Lady, I did not know that Audrey Hepburn was not singing the role of Eliza. That was a surprise for me as well. [suspenseful]

I listen to all sorts of music ... its not really the type its more the song .. i listen to the story in the song if i like the story i like the song [pickles12]
I like when the singer can sing and there has to be a melody. So I do not like rap. To me it sounds like they are shouting and getting mad at the listeners. [suspenseful]

I mostly listen to country and 80's rock. I also really like Christmas songs, although, that of course, is seasonal. If I'm listening to music to lift my spirits because I'm feeling a little down, then I will choose either 80's rock songs or country songs that have a good, fast, upbeat to them. Otherwise, if I am listening, just to be listening, I like most any 80's rock, such as Bon Jovi, Areosmith, Def Leppard, Pat Benetar, etc. or country music such as Sugarland, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Reba McEntire, John Schneider, Patty Loveless, etc. Just to name a few of each. [betsyraeduke]
I like 80s music, most kinds unless it is boring, which it hardly is. The 80s was a good year. Mind you I love classical the best, but the 80s singers could really sing. And of country, I love George Strait and Randy Travis plus the the ones that were in the eras before like Kenny Rodgers, etc. I also love Christmas songs that ones sung by Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, and my favorite comic ones The Grinch and Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. [suspenseful]

I listen to a variety of music such as soft rock, pop, country, and even classical. I mostly listen to the soft rock stuff from the 80's to now though as this is my favorite type of music to listen to. :) [sacmom]
As well as classical and opera, I am an 80s fan. If it were not for it being illegal, if there were any 80s music on the net, I would probably download it, well probably not- [suspenseful]

Good old rock and roll is my choice. Dyer Straits, Styx, Queen, some Yes, I like songs that have some kind of story line to them. Once in a while I'll enjoy an old musical, South Pacific is a favorite, tho Sound of Music is good. [ElicBxn]
Well my mom was a great musical fan, but me I was a bit more critical. Some musicals were quite good, but others they did quite pull it off. But My Fair Lady with all those fancy costumes, etc. Oh and I also liked Grease and Grease 2. I grew up in that era. [suspenseful]

Hello dear friend. I am sorry that the website is now charging fees for tuning in music. As to me, I think that I love to listen different kinds of music so long as they are pleasant to hear. When I feel blue, I would love to listen to some blue music and I think that music is really some wonder to us in matching us with different moods at different time. Thanks so much for your discussoin, my dear friend. [williamjisir]
I have to go to Shoutcast now and find the music I like, but some Shoutcasts make it hard to record their music. [suspenseful]

i listen to wide variety of music but i love those are acoustic and revivals. A mix of love song and soul also in which you can relax and can take stress away. [cheenlly]
I love classical and opera the best then comes popular music that has a melody with it and those sung by good singers, those that do not shout, music from the 60s to 80s. I especally love 80s music. [suspenseful]

All of my music tastes are for the 80s, I love that era for pop music especially, I've even started watching, after finally finding out I can do it via Youtube videos of the 80s. I find that Bryan Ferry and roxy Music really changes my mood if I am feeling down or low, Eurythmics too with Annie Lennox what a talented beautiful lady she is. Music does a lot for my emotions, moods and is great therapy. [wolfie34]
I love the 80s music. I made a CD of all my favorites back before you got in trouble for downloading music. But now I guess I will have to buy the Cds. [suspenseful]

i like some blues, some cuntry songs, some pop, in addition ,i find the background music for some classic movies always sounds nice and confortable, i like it very much. [saiwailaozei]
There is a lot of us older types, but we seem to stick with certain sights and do not surf aimlessly. I am mostly on myLot and when I surf it is searching for something and I go on Youtube a lot and listen to the music there. [suspenseful]

as I have no sound on puter right now I cant listen to any thing here but my cable tv has dozens of music channels on it. right now we listen to christmas music from around the workld but if I get down I go to the western classicals or blue grass. memories in them but also relaxing to us! [Lakota12]
Good. I do not know what I would do if I could not hear the music on Youtube. [suspenseful]

I am almost 50 years old and I don't like today's music. I only listen to the older songs, soft rock, from the 80's and 90's and country. When I have the radio on, which isn't very often, I listen to country. I have the radio on country, in the car. I listen to the music they play on my Shaw cable, channel 48, the weather channel. They play soft music on that channel. As your from Winnipeg you will know which channel I mean unless you have MTS, not shaw. [chrislotz]
I hardly check the weather channel. Too depressing. :) My mother-in-law had her cable on the Weather channel all the time. I thought she figured that the weather was going to change every second and took me some time to get my husband out of that habit. Oh did you see that fireplace on Channel 1? Neat huh? I do not like today's music, hate rap. It sounds as if they are angry with you and most singers do not know how to sing. To me shouting is not singing. And the 80s was the best and when we are not listening to my husband's radio dramas he recorded on mp3s in the car, we usually listen to the country stations. [suspenseful]

I listen to all kinds of music. Cheery and quick or bright and lively stuff changes my mood. Mostly quick dance music or something humorous. I'll never forget the first time I heard Spike Jones (I think that's his name). Anything fun is great for music. I just keep switching stations until I find a fun one. Swing, big band, Country, Rock, and Blues all have some fun stuff. Take care. [writersedge]
I have not heard any Spike Jones for ages. I rememmber seeing an old movie which he and his band were in, but I forget what one it wss. [suspenseful]

Right now I'm in a Dave Matthews mood. I'm listening specifically to the Fenway Park concert, a 4 CD set, and the just released Live from Piedmont Park, which of course is in downtown Atlanta and very close to where I spent last weekend, so I have a sudden affinity for midtown Atlanta and a longing to return there soon. Funny, two weeks before I move I suddenly connect with the city in which I've lived in and around for the past 25 years. Go figure eh? [ORyansBelt2012]
I wonder why. :) [suspenseful]

I listen to all types of music. But what is important is the lyrics of the song that I am listening to.But the genre of music I like the most is Heavy Metal. And my favourite singer is Alice Cooper. [amey_dev143]
I like the music of the 80s the best besides classical and opera and there are some from the 60s and 70s, especially the band music. I like the Eagles, Santana, and quite a few others. I do like some Heavy Metal, but right now I cannot think of a particular artist or band. [suspenseful]

When I feel I'm into the blues, I listen to music with fast beat to perk me up. I listen to hiphop and trance music for that matter. But other times, I listen to other types of music as well. [maude07]
I like music when the singers can sing, and especially opera, classical, music from the fifties to the 80s. After that, except for a few, I am not that inclined to. [suspenseful]

well, for me, i listen to all types... of course, not all music of all genres... but it is just that when I heard and i like then its included in my list... hahaha... but i like the rock music most.... cheers... [delgar]
To me, the singer has to be good. I do like rock, it has a fast beat. [suspenseful]

I like to listen to beautiful music when I'm feeling down and when I'm feeling good 2. It calms me when I need it and helps me to feel better. [xboxgirl]
That is what I like as well. [suspenseful]

I mostly like Hindi songs.Songs that are not very noisy. [Daffodil20]
I like classical and music where the singer can really sing. I mean I can tell if he or she has taken voice lessons or did a lot of practicing. Quality always shows. I have not heard many Hindi songs, only in movies and in them they are always dancing a lot. [suspenseful]

I like all music, but my particular favourites are baroque and jazz. I love Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Grieg, Sibelius. When I feel mushy I listen to Rachmaninov. When I relax I listen to Debussy and Satie (I love the Gymnopedies!)I am also addicted to Chuck Mangione and Led Zep. Oh, Blood Sweat and Tears, of course, and Bachman Turner Overdrive. I can go on and on and on. And don't even get me started on opera. My favourite is Tosca. My parents took me to see the movie version of it, starring Gina Lollobrigida, when I was about five or six years old and I became hopelessly hooked. My father had a huge record collection and he's like me--very eclectic taste in music!--everything from choral music to Count Basie, from Bing Crosbie to Teresa Brewer and Joni James (his favourite crooner). Right now I am listening to Classical 96.3fm. You can listen on the internet too. Google classical96.3fm and you can listen for free to as much classical music as you want! Have a wonderful Christmas, dear suspenseful.... [seagoddess28]
I love Bach the best. I will have to bookmark that station. There was one I was listening to but then they started to charge for it. What they did was mainly vocal music and they had some really old, that is back to the middle ages, chants and stuff, and every night around eight pm they would put on an opera. I have not seen Tosca, but I heard it. I go to the opera recordings on Youtube and I especially love Bel Canto. The only music I do not like is Rap. It sounds as if if they are mad at everybody. Thanks for the link. Do they play opera as well? [suspenseful]

I listen minimal, tech-house, electro house and chillout, but my favorite is minimal. [m0fodeejay]
I never heard of minimal, or the others. Is it what they call that electrical and trance type of music that was popular in the nineteen eighty movies? I will have to look that up and find out. Me, I like classical music the best and especially opera, because even though it is usually about violence, madness, lovers, doing wrong, and being betrayed, they sing it so beautifully. [suspenseful]

I love most kinds of music, except most opera, and all hip hop and rap. My mood determines what I listen to, but mostly it's music from the forties, fifties or sixties. I have many different albums, some I've created and some complete downloads, on my hard drive so I've always got something to listen to. [mipen2006]
I like classical the best and that includes opera, then comes old type music, like from the big band era and the popular music they had up to the nineties where the singers could really sing. There are a few I like nowadays, but it is hard to find them. It is not that I am nostalgic, I want the singers to really know how to sing and not to make noise. I bought most of my Cds and I got some as gifts and I have put some on my hard drive, and converted some to mp3s so I can listen to my mp3 player. [suspenseful]

When I'm in trouble I listen to music. I'm into alternative songs, before I'm so into R&B but I realized it's too boring when you keep on hearing those kinds of beat all the time. So I turned to alternative, just lately and I love it. my favorite bands are Nickelback, Green Day, 3 Doors Down, and some more.. [MGjhaud]
I have not listened to much R&B, but I do like the big band sound of the thirties and forties, and I have listened to Green Day, but the best music I like is classical and opera. The only music I do not like is Rap. I feel that they are always angry at somebody or something. I could be a righteous anger, or a bad anger, but it does not sound that pleasant to me. [suspenseful]

Hi friend, i always listen pop music. Because i like it very much. Some other genres i like are hip hop, classical, goo goo, some rap, also some rock artists. But i don't like rock so much. But i listen to linkin park like that. But classical is so relief. [ajesh_pullad]
I grew up on pop music when I was a kid, and that is when they had that sweet music of the 1950s, but we used to go to the Symphony in the Park every Saturday or Sunday and our school used to take our class to the Symphony to listen to an orchestra. Then when we got television, I discovered that many of the Disney classics and some of the other movies had classical music, so that every time I heard Fantasia, I would imagine crocodiles threatening hippos in ballerine costumes. [suspenseful]

If I'm not feeling good. I always listen to love song or jazz music. They can sooth my tired mind. Music can help in making me sane. [reckon21]
I like some love songs, especially the ones from the 1940s to the 1980s. I do like Janis Joplin. The trouble is with love songs, if they are sad like when they are about someone who dies, I feel like crying. So I guess in that way, they do not do me any good. I have not listened to many of the modern ones, though. [suspenseful]

I like to listen to rhythm and blues, alternative rock, ballad, pop and love songs. I prefer a variety of music genres. I am also particular with the lyrics and its meaning. If I can relate to it, probably, I would love it as much. [nengs10]
I like the old rock and roll, ballads, and love songs, and I also love the Big Bands (crazy about TC movies) like Glenn Miller - in fact I have a couple of Cds of his old pieces, plus classical and opera. I started to listen to classical because well our primary school took our class to see symphonies once a week, and I used to watch Disney and one of my favorites was when the hippos started dancing in their tutus, and the crocodiles were after them. They used a lot of classical pieces, so every time I hear that piece, guess what I think about. [suspenseful]
