My musical tastes are pretty eclectic. I like some of almost everything, as long as it's played well. Today I was listening to a CD of some old Byrds music. I loved the harmony in those. The only style of music I don't own is rap. I've heard some of it I've liked all right but not enough to spend on it. [cremechese51]

I like almost any kind of music, except for rap and I'm not really a jazz or country music person. 80's music is ok, I guess, but I grew up in the 60's so the stuff I would listen to would be Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Deep Purple and bands like that. And let's not forget Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, and Bob Marley and his son Ziggy Marley. Oh and Peter Tosh and the Rolling Stones. And David Bowie and Tom Petty. I also like Jonny Lang, his older stuff. Well I could go on and on, but there are only so many hours in a day. [AncientWisdom]

I like several different types of music...but my favorite and what I usually listen to is Country music....they seem like they are songs about me and my life...I really dislike gangster rap but short of that I am open to any type of music when not at my home or in my truck.. [tinamwhite]

I prefer listening mostly to rock music, anything that falls un that category is what I listen to. But I only listen to what I think sounds good to my ears, because there are some songs that are mostly made for noise which I feel are senseless and nonsense music. I also love listening to ballads and some "oldies" music, as it is always nice to hear those "good ole music" to reminisce at times!;) [raijin]

For casusal listening I like RnB, Reggae, jazz, oldies... I love all kinds of music. My philosophy "If it sounds good and has good lyrics...why not make it a hit". My pet peeve about people and music though is a person can make a good hit and not many people can see their success. Then when their around a couple of years everyone is like I've always like her. For example I was with Rihanna back in tha Pon De Replay saga...does anyone remember that? I loved Rihanna when she was Unfaithful and now she telling people to Shut Up and Drive...so when is it a reality that music is music and you shouldn't knock someone because their first single sounds like a one-hit wonder...never under-estimate the power of music. well , actually i like listen all types of music. but metal and hard rock i listen too much in english. some times i listen country too.... in hiphop i dont listen too much (because i dont have too much collection too ). In hindi i listen mostly gazals and some times songs from new picture. some times i turn back to 50's and 60's too... its alll depends on my mood. I am into a lot of different music genre. I like soft rock, country, R&B, dance music, pop, gospel and most recently bossa nova. So far the genre that I have a lot of difficulty listening to is jazz and hard core rock music. I think I have grown old when it comes to rock music because I can't stand the loud music anymore. As for jazz, it's a pity that I really am not into it because as they say, Jazz is for those people who have heightened taste in music. I guess, I do not belong to that category, LOL! [mari_skye]

I love classical and also classic rock, hill billy rock == well most rock genres including heavy metal, middle of the road, some pop, country and western and reggae. I do not care for rap or hip-hop, and most jazz (the Janis Joplin variety for instance). Rap I find is rather threatening and they are not exactly singing, are they? Oh and the singer has to be very good as well. If not, it does not matter how melodious the tune is. [suspenseful]

I enjoy most music, except country and rap. Depending on my mood I listen to anything from classical to rock, to folk, to alternative, jazz, easy listening. I like to listen to several kinds of music and I guess I'm a little partial to classical. But I'm not one who can reel off the names of pieces of music or of performers. I do have a current favorite which is sometimes called a crossover group from classical to pop. It is the all girl string quartet called bond and consists of Haylie Ecker, Eos Chater, Tania Davis, and Gay-Yee Westerhoff. I love to listen to soft music and if possible I like to listen to instrumental piano. The music is very calming and suggest some peaceful moment within my inner self. But hearing the same song is boring, so now I prefer to listen to the local radio. It plays current pop music and I think I like listening to them all.
