I have been to SEVERAL concerts in my day. Usually two or three a year. I am a diehard country music fan, so most of the concerts I go to are country. Ironically enough, however, my two favorite concerts of all time were not country. One was classic rock, the other pop. The best concert I have ever been to was Lynyrd Skynyrd and Styx. Not really a far cry from country, since Skynyrd is southern rock, but still. My second favorite concert of all time was, dare I say it, Britney Spears. She is my guilty little pleasure. I absolutely adore her, despite her marriage to K-Fed, and she is a great entertainer. Even if you don't like her music, you can appreciate the fact that she can dance. SO what is the best concert you have ever been to?

I too am a die hard country music fan but the best concert I have ever been to is Cher. She is just so amazing and her concerts are quite a spectacle. I have seen her twice and both times they were phenomenel. On the country music side the best in my opinion is Sawyer Brown. they are so energetic but they are slowing down a bit in the last few years as Mark Miller is getting a little older. I just love them. I have seen them many times starting way back when they first came out in the 80's. The best combination concert I have ever seen, when you are taking into consideration all the acts, was Diamond Rio, Sawyer Brown and Brook and Dunn. that entire concert was just spectacular. I took my husband to that one, and it was his first ever country concert since he doesn't really like country, but he loved this concert. Overall Cher is still the best for me. [sunnypub]
wow! I would have KILLED to go to a concert like that!! I have seen Diamond Rio and Sawyer Brown, but no B n D yet. :-( I love anyone who moves around. Mark Miller definitely cannot stand still! Chris LeDoux always knew how to rock a crowd too. I miss him SO much! I got to meet him a couple of times too. [chromecowgirl37]
God knows I've been to A LOT of concerts.NO ONE can put on a show like KISS though. The group that loves their fans the most is Vixen, and they can rock and look great too! Stephanie [dragonryder]
I have been to many concerts but my all time favorite was Elton John. He was not dressed outrageously but in a nice dark outfit and it was just him and a grand piano on stage. It was sold out and he kept the audience mesmerized from the first note to the last. [whiteheather39]
I saw Lynryrd Skynyrd too, that was a pretty good show, they played a lot of good songs, it was a good set list when I saw them. My favorite concert was Roger Waters and Nick Mason of Pink Floyd playing Dark Side of the Moon and all their other best songs. It was asbolutely amazing. [MrNiceGuy]
I went to so many concert and in a lot of different musci style. I don't think that I really have a favorite. Of course my first concert a went to was a magical moment for me and it was Bon Jovi. After that I saw Backstreet Boys times and my fav show was the one for the Mllenium tour. My 2 fav of recently are Black Eyed peas who are incredible in show and Justin Timberlake. [beyonce03]
My favorite concerts have been U2 (though I didn't get much of an opportunity to see the encore, wink wink!), the Boss (I've seen him three times, though the last time I only saw the last third of the show), Sting (he did a duet with Springsteen with my favorite songs from both of them!) and Metallica (I've seen them three times--OMG!). I do enjoy going to see Aerosmith (I've seen them twice), REM and some smaller, lesser known bands (Paul Westerberg's show was awesome (from the Replacemates) and Jerry Cantrell's show (from Alice in Chains)--I saw him open for Metallica and a solo show and some great local bands. I've fallen asleep at a Live show (really didn't do it for me) and at a Britney show (I was exhausted that night). I'd LOVE to see Skynyrd--that's one band my boyfriend and I both wouldn't mind seeing! [scorpiobabes]
Generally I prefer smaller shows, but one exception was Ozma and Saves the Day opening for Weezer. I got to chat with Ozma's guitarist out in the crowd while waiting for Weezer. It was the first time I had met him, so it was a fun night. Plus I went as a road trip with a bunch of friends, so it made for a good college memory. [bishojo17]
Ohhh I would love to watch Saves the Day...and for them to open for Weezer? That was probably a great night for you, eh? [janjabu]
My favorite was probably seeing Hanson for the third time at this teeny, tiny venue in Philadelphia called North Star. I got to meet them for the third time, I got third row at the show, and it was just a fantastic day. [hitzphillygirl]
well i've only been to one concert and that was years ago. i went to see alanis morrisett when she was promoting her jagged little pill cd. usually i see broadway musicals instead and the best one of that i've seen so far is the phantom of the opera. that is amazing. [poppoppop111]
I haven't been to that many concerts. I saw Tanya Tucker at the Mid South Fair years ago. I have seen KISS, ZZ Top, Oak Ridge Boys. I saw Atlanta Rhythm Section at a local festival that we have. I think the Oak Ridge Boys were best, but the Atlanta Rhythm Section was very good too. [lucy02]
Tanya Tucker was one of the first concerts I ever saw and I LOVED her!! I would love to see ZZ Top too. [chromecowgirl37]
My best concert wasn't so much the music as it was the way the whole series of events transpired. Back when I was between semesters in college, The Rippingtons (a great modern jazz band - www.rippingtons.com) came to my town. They were playing an early evening show in a hotel ballroom with reserved table seating. I asked my friends, friends of friends, parents, and just about everyone else I knew if they were interested in going. No one wanted to see a jazz show. I really didn't want to go by myself and decided I would just end up missing this opportunity. As the summer went on and other college students came home for the break, I was reunited with an old friend who was interested in going with me, so I called to order the tickets, and the only seating they had available was in the very back - the last row of tables, in the center. Seeing as how I finally was going to be able to go, I figured the worst seat in the house was better than no seat at all. The very next day, a second show was announced. I called to find out if I could exchange my bad seats for the first show for better seats in the second show, and the answer was no. The concert date finally arrived, and I picked up my friend and we drove to the hotel. We got lost (keep in mind this was long before the days of mapquest and cell phones). We drove around in circles trying to find the hotel. Once we found the hotel, it was another challenge to find the entrance, as it was unmarked... We entered the hotel, and there were no signs telling us which ballroom to go to and no greeter standing by to show us the way. We walked to the front desk and asked and were directed to the right place. We got to the door of the ballroom and the usher took our tickets and scoffed at our awful seats. I made a comment about how he didn't have to escort us to our table because finding the last row was an easy task, but he continued walking toward the back of the room. As I was counting off the tables, I realized our table was nowhere to be found. The usher opened the exit doors along the back wall and claimed that they moved our table outside (outside of the building, that is). After all I had experienced, I wasn't a bit surprised that things were just getting worse. He then closed the door, laughed, and said, "We had to remove your table because of the sound equipment, so you will be sitting at table 1 now," and proceeded to walk us to the very front of the room. Not only did we end up with the best seats in the house, but I got to meet a couple of members of the band after the show. [Hmmmmm]
That is such a cool experience! Kind of like a "happily ever after" moment or any feel-good movie that has a happy ending, where the hero goes on a long and tiring journey and ends up being almost thrown out of the building! And when you thought it was the end, it was not because you guys got bumped UP to the best seats in the house! Incredible. [janjabu]
Me too (with Brit being a guilty pleasure, but I haven't seen her in concert...yet) but for me the best concert was when my boyfriend and I went to Bangkok to watch Bangkok 100 Rock Concert, which was a two-day concert held outdoors near a man-made lake. Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Ian Brown, Futureheads, Placebo, and Maximo Park played, with some local bands opening the night. It was amazing. [janjabu]
I am a diehard concert person too... its hard to say though when i saw David Bowie he loved my outfit so much he gave me his guitar pic, cheap trick saw me and gave me guitar pics, Alice cooper adored me and the outfit i made, and have many pictures with him, and was bale to get 4 backstage passes :) Gene Simmons liked me and gave me his guitar pic and vip pass, even though i wouldnt put out... I hung out with poison and cinderella on their tour bus got tons of free stuff... im in a KISS video.... and whats funny is im notorious among all of them, Poison had heard of me from Gene Simmons lol. and why am i Notorious because even after all this im STILL a VIRGIN. Coolest groupie never to put out ;) [ForbiddenBeauty]
Oh, yes it is! Makes me wonder why I settled down! lol [chromecowgirl37]
Tough decision, i can't choose just one, so here are my faves: Jeff Martin (from the tea party) The Tea Party Megadeth Nightwish Tool Arch Enemy Nevermore [signum]
Absolutely, without a doubt, Santana. I saw him at the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland three years ago, and we were so close, and he has so much energy, you walked out of the venue feeling like you were flying. He has always been my favourite guitar player in the world, and actually seeing him perform was a dream come true. (Driving there wasn't, though, it was the second time I had driven a stick, and it was uphill almost all way.) [nykohl]
I think most of the concerts I have been to are great. My 2 favorite ones though were Bon jovi (both times) & Poison. I love the fact that both bands have been around for ages & can still rock strong. I agree with the person who said Kiss too. They had an awesome show & I loved seeing them in their make-up. [crystal8577]
I've only been to 4 concerts, but two of those were really fantastic. The first was Paul McCartney (hard for that NOT to be fantastic), and the second was a Dresden Dolls concert, which really went above and beyond what I would ever expect out of a concert. That one was truly art, which was very cool. [LadyMagpie]
the best concer i ever been was Ziggy Marley in Puertu Rico like 15 years ago too much kaya to handle!!!!!wow!!! [habichuelo]
I have not been to that many but I too have to say that STYX was the best. I have been to a few dance shows and enjoyed Lord of the Dance the best. At the Christmas time I really enjoyed go to see TSO, they but on a great show and you don't need to be able to see them just hearing the music is enough. [clracer]
i have only been to 2 concerts and my favorite one was a concert that featered 3 bands which took place in colorado. the first band i cannot remember the name. the second band was TFK(thousand foot krutch) and they were CRAZY with the song MOVE! the third band was 30 seconds to mars and this is when things got chaotic. there was some mosh pits and the singer of the band climbed the lights and rafters onto the cealing bars and was still singing. then he climbed down and when he was about 15 feet up he jumped off and began to croud surf all the way back up to the stage. it was one of the coolest moments in my life and i will never forget it!!!!!! [shawn2008]
I have also been to several concerts because I have the privilege to watch free concerts (my aunt is in-charge of concerts in a very popular venue). An unforgettable one for me was the Depeche Mode concert. I grew up in 80's music (new wave era). I enjoyed the concert immensely because wow! That guy had THE voice! He didn't even need to have his voice amplified (you know, the secrets of singers--for them to be heard even thru the back part of the venue). The Lighting and effects were even superb, plus the use of alternative instruments were amazing (e.g. forks, xylophone, etc). Never a dull moment! [ag_abscruzmd]
ive only really been to a nelly concert before and then a few other lil ones. it was a nice concert, but it was memorable for different reasons. i took my best friend for her bday, and we decided to eat chinese right before the concert. turns out we both got food poisoning. i ended up with a migraine for the whole entire concert, and she ended up puking like crazy. we still laugh about it today. [pagli84]
I've been to uncountable concerts, but Marilyn Manson has put on some of the best ones. [Jemmifire]
Mine would be Sarah McLachlan. I have seen her live 4 times and always enjoy her show when I see her. [nangel78]
I've never been to a concert. Ever. Seriously. -_- [freezerpop]
Garth Brooks was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'd never heard of him when I first went, and I wasn't even a country fan. He blew me away! He was so engaging, and got the crowd really going. He was a really good entertainer. [bonbon664]
My parents went to a Garth Concert years ago, I was probably 12 yrs old, and they wound up in the 2nd row. I still hate them for that! ;-) It just was not fair! Because I have always been a huge Garth fan, especially at that point in my life. I was so resentful for being left at home that night! lol [chromecowgirl37]
I have been to a few concerts but the best I went to was with an old friend. We started talking about going to an ICP concert. I thought OK maybe this will be the same as the rest. We purchased our tickets and headed out to the spot the concert was at. We got there really early, but from the look of it we would have had to get there hours earlier. The entire outside was packed and lines went for blocks. It took nearly 3 hrs to get to the front. Once inside we got to our seats in the balcony. The concert started and everyone went crazy. My friend went berserk and security tried to take him outside. He wrestled security to the ground and went freely to the crowd forming on the gound below the balcony. Once I seen him make it Everyone screamed and jumped off the 7ft. balcony. We all ended up onstage and met the group. That had to have been the most exiting concert that i have ever been to! [wanderingdragun83]
The best concert I ever went to was the Andre Bocelli concert at Malahide caslte, Dublin, Ireland. He is such a powerful singer and the scene of the concert was amazing with the sun setting behind the castle. It was really romantic, sadly I went to it alone. It was worth every bit of the 175euro ($225) I paid, I got seats 10 rows from the front. [Patrin]
hello cow... girl, i have been to a concert i liked very much, it was called "dont eat so much ull get fat" and the singer was "pigman" [pablofrancisco]
I have to say, somewhat bashfully, that the best concert I ever went to was N-SYNC's tour with the still unknown Britney Spears. [ronnic]
I went to a STYX concert and that was awesome. [rogue13xmen13]
I went to a concert for an alternative rock band called Coheed and Cambria, and to this day I have never been to a more amazing concert. They absolutely blew any competition out of the water that day. They put on such a great show; the sound was perfect, the set was perfect, the place where I was standing was perfect. Plus, they did a 25 minute encore, and stayed back afterward to chat and sign autographs. They were amazing, and I've been to a lot of concerts. [Kaorin]
By far it was Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and there were 3 other people from MusikMafia. It was SO awesome. [mom2chriskel]
One of my best concerts I have ever been to was actually last Sunday. I had the absolute pleasure of catching Eric Clapton in Melbourne. The man is an absolute genius. His guitar playing blew me away. His band was incredible, so tight and very talented. From a musical point of view it was hands down the best concert I have ever been too. As far as entertainment goes, I saw Cyndi Lauper about a year and a half ago and all I can say about that is 'wow.' She was amazing. So full of energy and so, so funny inbetween songs. I knew she had a voice that was damn good, but it wasn't until I heard her sing live that I realised how incredible her voice actually is. All I can say is if you ever get a chance to see either of these two artist, check them out. You will definately not be disappointed. [Script]
I too am a country nut, both being and listening. I would have to rate the best concert I attended as a Garth Brooks concert. The man just lights up the building and puts so much energy into everything he does. It is just impossible not to be moving when he is doing his thing. The lighting and fireworks were fabulous and when everyone left they were awe struck. I think that will always be #1. I have to mention as a close second just because of who was there a concert I attended several years ago. I'm kind of a rebel and I like those entertainers as well. Well this concert had Willie Nelson, Kris Kristoferson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggert and Waylon Jennings. What a Show they called it the Highwayman Tour All the original outlaws on one stage at one time was fabulous. Haven't seen anything to compare with it since. [easyliving]
I love country too...but my favorite concert***don't laugh*** was Simon and Garfunkle in Central park live...I only remember the first half because of the second hand smoke buzz, but it was so much fun. [deberooney]
The best show that I have ever been to was Night Ranger, .38 Special, and REO Speedwagon. REO and 38 Special were AMAZING!! Night Ranger... their performance was horrible and rather vulgar. [zoey7879]
