well i want to listen in headphones because i want to share my favorite songs or type of music to other people... ahehehehe... i use headphones during night time to avoid distracting other people especially when they are sleeping...
some headphones doesn't have a good quality if it's cheap so you have to but the expensive one just to hear you favorite song or music in full quality... speakers is actually good only you cannot bring it with you unless if it's a stylish one... ahehehehehehe good mylotting...

big speakers. Let the music surround you, it's so nice! When you use headphones it sort of poses a strain on your ears.. don't you feel so? To be able to enjoy music, it is better to use speakers. Does not mean blasting it off though. :) [mygreenshoes]

I prefer listening through speakers and i like it loud, but i choose my output depending on the situation. I'll use headphones for my one class online that uses audio, because its not that loud and i live by a train. Headphones are cool for private listening; I have an excellent pair of Koss over-ear 'phones from my radio broadcasting days that sound dynamite! But if you really want to "feel" the groove, there's nothing to compare with a couple 2400 watt amps and some 24" subs to really get you going! [myklj999]

It depends on my mood. If I feel that other people nearby might appreciate the music I'm about to play, then I use the speakers. However, if they don't seem like they'll appreciate the songs, or if I prefer to listen privately without any distractions, then I'll whip out my earphones. AFAIK, listening with headphones/earphones for more than an hour will allow bacteria to breed inside the ear canals, so I try not to use the earphones for an extended period of time. I prefer speakers over headphones. The speakers don't have to be huge as long as the sound is external. I don't like having to plug stuff into my ears. It depends on the situation. If it's early morning and everyone is asleep, I'll listen to it on headphones. If someone in the room is watching TV, I'll listen to music on headphones. But if the TV is off, everyone is in the room and we're playing a board game or something (my boyfriend likes board games), I'll put on music so we're not just hearing the roll of dice.
