There are a lot of songs to choose from. We can hear them wherever we are. Without music life would be boring. Most people wan't to do their task while listening to their favorite songs. Personally I opt soft music most of the time because its very relaxing and soothing. It help me a lot when I'm down. It uplift my spirit. I don't like rock music that much because its irritating to the ears. How about you? What's your favorite type of music and why?

ROCK!! haha. well I like rock songs but only those like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. When I am really in the good mood to listen to music. It makes me bang my head and tap my hands while feeling the music. I also like acoustic songs. It clears my mind and make a peaceful atmosphere in my room. What I listen to depends on my mood..Some days I want to listen to nothing but Jazz or R&B, other days I like old punk or goth music and other days still I enjoy listening to soft rock or ballads or maybe top 40 type tunes and so on....I love a wide variety of genres when it comes to music so there is no "one" prefered for me.. I like a ton of different musics, Dave Matthews is my fave & I think they consider him to be alternative...I do not! I like Rob Thomas, Santana...the list is endless. I do not like Hip Hop or Jazz though! [mibngold]
I like both music, actually I'll listen to both of them depends on my mood. If I feel gloomy and kinda bored, I'll listen to more upbeat and a bit loud rock, and if I'm feeling like I want to hear some soft music especially if I'm reading or doing some tedious stuff, I'll listen to soft music. Firstly I diasagree that Rock music is irritating to the ears. I depends on what genre you are talking about, if you are used to listening to some good music as well as how loud you listen. There are many types of Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Shock Rock, Garage Rock, Glam Rock, Pop Rock, and so on, things that came from that were Punk, Heavy Metal, Sleze Metal, Glam Metal, Black Metal and Death metal and so on, and I kow that some rock legends inspired things like early R N'B and so on, But I am a huge Rock fan, and dont really like genres such as Hip-Hop, Pop, Rap and so on, some of it really bugs the hell out of mew, Im more of a fan of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and some Power Metal, some of the biggest selling acts in world/history and from the Rock Genre, etc....examples are AC/DC - 200million albums, Kiss 100 million albums, Aerosmith 150+ million albums Some of my favourite bands/artists are Scorpions AC/DC Alice Cooper Whitesnake Motorhead Jimi Hendrix and so on You cant say all rock irritates your ears, think....Volume is the main thing, and genres like Black Metal, and Death Metal doesnt do rock music in general any justic and some of the crap where they scream and dont sing, is just rubbish, but I dont think Rock and Metal in general is rubbish, as you can probavbly tell, Im a fan, but Im open (sometimes) to opinions, and I do understand what you mean. I suppose it depends on the mood you're in.I come from a musical family and I know and appreciate all sorts of music.I was a child when Rock 'n Roll arrived on the music scene,hence I was hooked on that kind of music.Even though this was the case I knew and loved other music pre-Rock 'n Roll. Later I was influenced by a different type of sound.As far as music is concerned I am eclectic and there is little in the way of music that I could say I dont like. [JUNGLE]

Well Music is something that has to has soul and body and most does. As to what types it really depends where I am, what I am doing and the mood I am in. As woman near 60 I like a great variety of music and yes even some of the hard rock like Guns N Roses and Metallica at times, I love the scorpians and the eagles. But when I think of rock, I think of Rock and Roll mostly from the 1950's and 1960's and early 1970's. Elvis, Big Bopper, Temptations, Supremes, Dave Clark 5, the Beatles, Chuck Berry and many more. I sometimes like to get out and get down and boogie with friends and family also good for aerobics. But other times I need down time and quiet and like Yanni, Kitaro, Enya, Diblasio. I also like Folk and some hip hop rap and blues, classical and more. Like I said depends what the circumstances are and even who I am with or if I am alone. I don't think Rock n Roll of the 50's and 60's is irratating to the ears at all and I also like some Country and some Country Western and Hoedown. I love to dance and like both slow sexy waltzes and close dancing but also love to boogie. [Celanith]
I am not personally into all of them, but when you say Metallica, their awesome, the original line-up of Guns N' Roses were great with Slash, Duff and Izzy Stradlin and that, and I love Scorpions as well, their are awesome, better than GN'R and Metallica put together. [firstcontact1990]

My sister don't like rock music so I have to used earphones when listening to it. It helps me to relax and live my everyday life. I just love rock music and don't have any reason why not to love it. In a way it isnt realistic to sya soft. It is much harder to define soft. Pop Cant always be soft, Rn'B cant always be soft, Hip-Hop or Rap isnt always soft, but I guess that is what you are all saying. Personally I love rock. I love the way it makes me feel, the way it sounds and the emotion it can convey. At the same time, I also appreciate soft music, as long as it's creative and I can take something from it. I agree that any task is makde easier if you're listening to some good music. [coffeeshot]

There have been times in the past when I have listened to Rock music but that was just when I was feeling rebelious! I normally prefer the quiet kind of music now, easy listening and so forth! I love some of those meditation cds as well where the music is really soothing and nice to the ear! I generally listen to this during the evening hours, it prepares me for sleep! Hi mayrah, when reading, surfing net or before going to bed I enjoy listening to those light music with soft and sentimental melody which could make me feel relaxed and comfortable. We usually play rock music when having fun during our friend gathering. I like the rocking music as it would boost up the merry atmosphere. For me I prefer soft music - any soft soothing music. When I'm hard at work, I find having soft soothing music in the background helps me to relax. It helps sooths my mind and body as well - helps to make me more comfortable, at ease to do my work.
